Weak ass call on Ebe there. By the official that was 30’ from the basket without a clear look at the play lol.

should've never given Seabron a scholarship
1/1/2022 5:59:16 PM
2 things. Why is Gibson the option for sub instead of Ross? This is how you get transfers. Keatts has not drawn up a single end of game successful play out of a timeout ever. Why in the world is he calling a timeout there whine Seabron has a head of steam? And just like clockwork…. A classic Keatts timeout play. Trash. [Edited on January 1, 2022 at 6:11 PM. Reason : .]

Maybe don’t throw it to the double teamed dude? Idk just a thought

heads up Senior play by Hellems
1/1/2022 6:12:32 PM
I mean Hellems fucked the dog for sure with that terrible pass but Keatts has not drawn up a single successful out of timeout play since he has been here. Why the fuck is he calling a timeout there?
1/1/2022 6:13:39 PM
1/1/2022 6:14:07 PM
Did you have any faith at all we were scoring out of that timeout? It was inevitable that we fucked it up…just a matter of how
1/1/2022 6:15:59 PM
I don’t hate KK’s TO. I’d want to see a replay, but Seabron didn’t exactly have a wide open path to the basket. I mean, if he didn’t call a TO I wouldn’t have blamed him. But we didn’t have numbers and didn’t have a clear path to the basket (maybe on replay id change my mind, but in live action that was my opinion).Did I think we were gonna score? Idk. I was assuming we’d cleanly inbound the ball. In which case, yeah, I’d like our chances to score. [Edited on January 1, 2022 at 6:19 PM. Reason : H]

oh justinnumbers... the classic "well, actually" reply guy. Can either of you with a straight face tell me that you think Keatts out of timeouts is anything but awful? My memory was that Seabron on the break seemed to have a relatively clean path to the basket (confirmed by his own post game comments, btw). Wide open? Nah. But I would put my money on Seabron 100 times out of a 100 over a Keatts timeout play. I really fuckin tried to just let this season go and not harp on Keatts, but Gibson should see nothing but garbage time. Keatts is gonna run off Ross who, while he isn't a superstar, is damn sure better than anything Gibson has ever done here in the few minutes he has gotten. Then when Ross leaves after the season, mr reply guy is gonna tell me how Ross just wanted to go and it had nothing to do with the situation he was in with playing time. To his credit, he sat Hayes down and honestly should have completely benched him entirely because the offense runs cleaner with both Allen and Pass and neither of them are gonna throw up a contested 3 from the top of the key early in the shotclock 4 times a game like Hayes. I was screaming at my TV when Keatts called the TO not just because Seabron seemed to have a clean look at the basket but also because I don't trust a Keatts play to be worth a damn. Of course it blew even my mind that our senior leader throws a lazy pass 1 sec after getting the ball to the only guy who is doubled on the floor. That was a winnable game. We aren't gonna have many of those this season. Fuck.^https://twitter.com/RedWhitePodcast/status/1477432540139036674[Edited on January 1, 2022 at 7:16 PM. Reason : d]
1/1/2022 7:14:56 PM
It was a 3 on 4 with 2 dudes on the ball. Would he have scored anyways? Maybe! Has Keatts called a timeout with successful results in the past? Yes.
1/1/2022 7:42:57 PM
It was Seabron with a full head of steam against two big guys backpedaling (those who were near enough to the ball to make a play). I'm not even really debating whether or not he scores there, because... who knows? I'd put my money on Seabron 10/10 times over Hellems making a good decision and 100/100 times over a Keatts TO. Do Keatts timeouts generally result in even a clean look? Forget about points, do his timeouts even over 50% of the time even result in a clean shot? I mean, I know you guys like to defend him for some reason, but I thought him being a terrible X and Os guy was pretty well established even among those who like him. This team is dogshit, we don't have a clear path to be better next year either. Meanwhile, Pass and Ross can barely get on the floor even while their counterparts are stinking up the joint so chances of them transferring go up every night.[Edited on January 1, 2022 at 8:05 PM. I have no clue what the stats are on his out of TO plays. Don’t think that stat is easily available. Sorry. I just don’t think calling a TO there was so inexcusably bad.
1/1/2022 8:05:45 PM
You literally said he has never drawn up a successful play out of a timeout in his entire NC State career. Do you realize how absolutely ridiculous of a statement that is?Also the video in that tweet just so happens to have the audio removed so you don't hear the whistle for the timeout. The FSU guys stopped playing, making that look like a much better opportunity than it actually was. 3 guys were gonna collapse on Seabron, and i seriously doubt he would have tried to pass.]
1/1/2022 8:45:51 PM
It's called rhetoric. And the fact that you have to well, actually me says that you know damn well he is awful out of timeouts. It really doesn't matter how I said it though. I could have cited 2 times in KK's history that he has run a successful TO play and 98 times he didn't from memory and your MO with my posts is always the same...
1/1/2022 8:52:53 PM
Maybe it's because your posts are bad and you should feel badBut go ahead and post some tweets from a similarly slanted Twitter account to back yourself up.]
1/1/2022 8:58:45 PM
Keatts is one of the worst out of timeout coaches I've ever seen. What makes that worse, though, is he thinks he's Brad Stevens
1/1/2022 9:02:51 PM
I blame Hellems for an awful pass and Keatts because he saw before the inbounds that Seabron was double teamed, was standing right by Hellems, and still must have told him to throw it to the guy that was double teamed.

Even without the injuries this roster wasn’t looking good before the season. What is the hope going forward? Feel like this is the type of roster you see in year one or two. Program is trending the wrong direction. I liked the KK hire and he’s had some great moments but seems the program has no momentum. Easy to blame COVID and injuries and some bad luck but still would be nice to have some hope for improvement going forward and not really seeing it. Am I wrong here?
1/2/2022 11:28:33 AM
We're ranked 181 in NET now. The two recruits next year don't look great either. The outlook is very grim. The only thing to watch is Seabron driving and Baby T shooting (a lot).I don't see how NCSU can afford another season of this with Keatts. Attendance is already atrocious.
1/3/2022 12:04:26 AM
I don’t disagree with any criticisms of Keatts. I just don’t think fan attendance is a relevant bar to measure anything by. It’s Christmas break for students. OOC attendance always sucks unless a top team comes in to play. And covid definitely plays a factor in attendance too.
1/3/2022 6:58:52 AM
This game was a tough loss. Felt like we were right there in the end and that turnover stings. Just like the end of the Purdue game. I am generally a pretty big KK fan but you have to agree his teams don't play well out of TOs. Is that on him or the guys? Not sure, but ultimately that does point back to him, whether schematics or coaching.^ very much agree. There are a million reasons the attendance for last nights game could be down, and quality of the team is maybe 3rd or 4th in my opinion at the moment. Wait til February and (if Covid improves &) if it's still low we can talk but right now, it's not a major factor. For what it's worth, paid attendance was reported at 12,529, our second highest of the year (13k for Bucknell) and is only 4k below our usual average attendance. Again, for a game on New Years against a non-rival team who is also not doing so well, I'm not shocked and not concerned[Edited on January 3, 2022 at 8:20 AM. Reason : ed]

Do we practice inbounding? KARMA
1/3/2022 9:12:24 AM
game day, expect the a similar outcome. At this point Baby-T and Seaborn going to keep us in games, but the last 7 mins is going to be an issue.
1/4/2022 5:39:22 PM
5 min scoring drought to end the half... somehow still only down 4 It's good to see Ross getting the backup big man minutes so far.
1/4/2022 7:48:29 PM
And now up 6. Each team just trading like 12-0 runs lol
1/4/2022 8:32:45 PM
2 pretty iffy calls go VT’s way and it’s now a 7-0 run for them. What a ride!Really need more from Hayes. Not trying to shit on him. But we just need him to be more reliable and better all around.
1/4/2022 8:39:45 PM
Bullshit charge call
1/4/2022 8:40:56 PM
Yeah that was one of the calls I was referring to. Even if it’s a charge by letter of the law (don’t think it was), it’s not good defense and really shouldn’t be rewarded. It’s one of a few things that makes CBB less fun to watch.
1/4/2022 8:47:42 PM
Ebe just fouled out on an identical play that wasn’t called on Vt on the previous play. I think it was a foul on Ebe. But BS that it wasn’t called on Seabron’s shot on the play before
1/4/2022 8:51:31 PM
I, too, watched the whole game! Nice to win one
1/4/2022 8:55:45 PM
We did a victory on the road!
1/4/2022 8:56:45 PM
Winner!
1/4/2022 8:56:48 PM
they about jump shot their way to a loss. not sure I've seen us get so may offensive boards, but they finally realized drive to the basket was a good thing and either a foul, bucket, or rebound. props to the team. they do play hard now if they can play smart. i screamed in my head stop shooting 3s with 4 mins to go.

Playing Ross over Gibson won the game. Keatts didn't even play him against FSU. He's got a lot of upside.Gibson needs to be in the portal.
1/4/2022 9:19:46 PM
Glad I don’t have to post about the losing streak. Agree that the no call when Seabron scored and the final foul on Ebenezer was B.S. but oh well. Seabron and Smith carried us with their scoring.
1/4/2022 10:47:59 PM
team is eating some ice cream tonight!baby t in the first half, seabron in the second half. I don't know how seabron gets those impossible shots to fall - amazing!
1/4/2022 11:55:29 PM
it's amazing seeing how far Cam has regressed this year.
1/5/2022 8:06:26 AM
Good win on the road. We are gonna be too bad for Seabron to get POY, but the kid is having that type of season. I actually saw him showing up on a mock draft recently--but I don't know what he is in the NBA unless he develops the outside shot a bit. It's gotta be agonizing being a bench guy for KK. Ross gets a DNP against FSU and then plays good minutes in this game (I ain't complaining, it's the right move). Pass gets an efficient 5 pts against FSU in just a few minutes and then gets a DNP against VT.
1/5/2022 9:00:45 AM
Not that I think he's going to make much of a difference (prove me wrong!), but when is Gantt expected to start practicing/playing?
1/5/2022 9:41:13 AM
Keatts has made several comments that it is likely going to be late jan/early feb if at all. My bet is he doesn't play at all.
1/5/2022 9:52:37 AM
I think Gantt may end up redshirting. At least that’s what I read back before Christmas, I believe. Re: Seabron. I have no #sources. But he’d be a strong candidate to go pro. It’s his third year in the program, so he’s an “old” sophomore to begin with. And he did a post grad year at a military academy before coming to State. He’ll be 22 in May. Improving his jump shot would make him sky rocket up in the draft. But he might be at a stage where he can’t afford to come back a year and hurt his draft stock by getting injured or just not taking an extra step next year.
1/5/2022 9:58:43 AM
I don't look at ACC or NCAA stats. Also haven't been able to sit down and watch a whole game cause most games are at kids bedtime, also removing frustration from my life (e.g. watching less nc state basketball). NC State basketball 2022Seabron and Baby-T are fun to watch. if we had three more of them we'd be damn good.
1/5/2022 10:02:53 AM
Yeah most recent thing I read is that Gantt's injury may keep him off the court all year. And it's risky adding a guy in late in the season -- lacks the cohesion the rest of the team has built
