The star of rouge one is most likely the mother of Rey.
4/17/2016 5:45:42 PM
Isn't Rogue 1 pre- New Hope? That would have to be a pretty old mother.
4/18/2016 1:18:16 AM
lol at Rey needing a hug morehttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Life_debt
4/18/2016 2:53:36 AM
^^Not necessarily. In A New Hope, the first test fire of the Death Star was on Alderaan so it couldn't have finished construction too much earlier than that. Looks like the star of Rogue 1 is roughly somewhere between the age of Luke and Han in A New Hope, and either of them are of about the right age to be her parents.

I noticed Chewie was still in the copilot seat at the endhe better be the owner of the falcon and not rey

According to nerds on the internet (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline_of_galactic_history):Luke is 19 in EpIV. EpVI is 4 years later, making him 23. Rey is born 11 years after that, when Luke was 34. In EpVII, Luke is 53 and Rey is 19. I don't think an age has been released for the girl in Rogue One, but I think it's safe to assume she's at least 15 years older than Luke. Not impossible to be a 49 year old mom, but this means she would have been alive during the entire span of the original trilogy and was nowhere to be seen. So she's either in hiding for some reason, or more likely she dies on the mission to get the Death Star plans.I'm not sure I totally buy all the years given by this website, because it also says Qui-Gon Jinn was 60 in EpI, and Obi-Wan 57 in EpIV, and there's 32 years between. That makes Qui-Gon 35 years older than Obi-Wan. That doesn't seem right to me.

In SJW, star wars, women pursue their career and develop their force powers before having children in their late 30s. You would think they would have egg management technology down. Also, instead of a patriarchal "i am your father" moment, i fully expect an "i am your mother" moment
4/18/2016 3:35:21 PM
At least 15 yrs older than Luke? I don't know about that... 34-38 seems like a stretch.[Edited on April 18, 2016 at 3:44 PM. Reason : holy giant picture, batman]
4/18/2016 3:43:37 PM
How do we know she hasn't already had the kid, and had to abandon her to Jakku for the mission to steal the plans?
4/18/2016 3:52:28 PM
Felicity Jones (the actress playing Jyn Erso) is 32 years old.I would have guessed she was younger.Obiwan was 57 in Ep IV, so I guess looks does not have to match with actual age.[Edited on April 18, 2016 at 4:41 PM. Reason : ]
4/18/2016 4:40:27 PM
^^ I guess we don't know that, but what would that theoretical kid have to do with Rey?
4/18/2016 4:42:57 PM
the theoretical kid would be rey

If they can replace limbs they can surely let 40 year olds have healthy babies.

I'm gonna say what we're all thinkin'. Rey is Mace Windu's granddaughter. Mace Windu's sabre was purple. Rey's was blue. Blue is right next to purple on the color wheel. Coincidence?

Another thing that kinda bugged me, was the refresh rate on the planetary defense shield. In a universe populated with vehicles that can travel at light speed, this seems like a huge security flaw. And how is Han the first pilot to ever think of using light speed to get through a shield?

Maybe they needed to cast a somewhat older actress so it would be easier to make her look 50 in episode 8 when she finally reunites with her daughter.

Rey is Mon Mothma's neice

Rey, through a cosmic timey wimey twist of events, is both her own mother and daughter.

What say you, FroshKiller?
4/30/2016 12:39:32 AM
Cinema sins is never serious critique. Most of the things they pick out are either explained later or can be easily figured out by the slightest bit of critical thought. Then there are plenty that are just wrong. Like when he gives a "sin" to Poe for shooting at the stormtroopers instead of flying off, when his ship had already been hit and he couldn't fly.Honest trailers is both funnier and more accurate when critiquing a movie.
4/30/2016 10:38:28 AM
I like both Cinema Sins and Honest Trailers. I just wanted to see if Frosh would address all 100+ sins
4/30/2016 1:45:19 PM
Only part I ever enjoy of Cinema Sins is the dub overs. Much more excited for the Mr. Plinkett review. Also, just watched the Honest Trailer and loved that Mr. Plinkett showed up at the very end.[Edited on May 2, 2016 at 4:07 PM. Reason : -]

I like watching Cinema Sins, but that dude does a piss-poor job of comprehending basic elements of the story sometimes. I watched the Episode VII video yesterday. He takes issue with Han keeping BB-8 when the Guavian Death Gang and Kanjiclub board the Falcon, saying he does it for "reasons unexplained."He keeps BB-8 as collateral to prevent Rey and Finn from attempting to escape. It's so goddamn obvious that it doesn't warrant explanation.Other than that, don't really give a shit about nitpicking.
5/2/2016 4:24:59 PM
Cinema Sins hasn't been a relative channel since The Dark Knight Rises. Probably their best video. All 'critiques' are short and to the point. All of the videos since have just been the guy rambling incoherently as fast as he can hoping that more words means better content. Just terrible.Honest Trailers is really the bees-knees, though.
5/3/2016 12:03:26 PM
That moment when you realize luke ran away because he found out how leia tried to get tatooine blown up instead of alderon.
5/4/2016 11:43:12 AM
She said Dantooine, not Tatooine. Different planet.
5/4/2016 12:53:19 PM
A tooine is a tooine
5/4/2016 3:36:28 PM
They didn't even blow up Dantooine. Iirc, it was too small or insignificant of a planet for the Death Star to make a proper demonstration of power, and when the planet was searched for the rebel base they found remains of a base that had been abandoned for some time. The empire was already searching Tatooine for the droids. If they were going to blow it up they didn't need anyone telling them there was something there to find.
5/4/2016 5:19:06 PM
anybody play Star Wars Commander? (mobile app)
5/4/2016 5:44:46 PM
5/4/2016 7:40:17 PM
the Cinema Sins does make some good points though. Why do Poe and Finn have to take out all the star destroyer lasers instead of just escaping? The ventral cannons aren't even online yet, the lasers don't have the range.
5/6/2016 1:52:27 AM
Yeah I was just about to say something like that. Cinema Sins actually makes an attempt to rip apart every movie. Honest Trailers says some funny jokes, but for the most part plays too nice.
5/6/2016 2:34:12 AM
just watched again and the whole movie they mixed the music to fit what they were showing on the shot. for example, they had first order music playing, then when the resistance showed up, they played a lighter music when x wings were on the screen, and quickly switched back when showing storm troopers. This is important because at the very end, they mixed in bit when they showed luke that was clearly march of the empire .
9/11/2016 3:28:48 AM
Not to be that guy, but, the first order theme was pretty lame and underwhelming.
9/11/2016 3:02:27 PM
i like to think of it like a batman begins type villain. more of a backstory placeholder villain to get the viewers feet wet with the series before brining in a joker type villain in the next episode.
9/11/2016 6:25:11 PM
Mr. Plinkett review is up. I've only watched a little of it and it's not nearly as good as the prequel ones so far, but that's because he's talking mostly about the change in Star Wars culture since the Disney deal and what is expected in the future. But I'm sure once he gets into the story it will be better.
10/2/2016 6:21:49 PM
my point exactly. his alternative plot would've been so much better.
10/2/2016 8:51:36 PM
Watched this a couple of times for my lead up to Rogue One, and I have a question that I don't know has been answered, maybe so.Was Starkiller base constructed for the sole purpose of destroying the New Republic and the resistance? Because that planet's sun seems like it could only power two charges. Nobody mentioned that they gave this planet the ability to warp to another system and find another power source.
12/19/2016 9:57:51 AM
Yea, it seemed to be a metaphor for the light dying in Ben. For him to try to kill the light when he killed Han.But its an awful reason to end up having a weapon with only 2 charges and not explain any hyper drive or the obviously suicidal results.
