Then Chip should have also tweeted that he didn't believe what Staal said. Moot point, bad post on my part. But if he is being asked what it's all about.... then his followers aren't following the internet that you and I follow.[Edited on November 18, 2011 at 2:13 PM. Reason : 13. I miss Ray]
11/18/2011 2:04:02 PM
if you read the whole tweet it's pretty damn clear what he believesice_chip Chip Alexander For all who have asked, Staal said he left room in intermission break to have wrist taped last night. That is all.
11/18/2011 2:12:36 PM
Fuck Buffalo. Also, Carter wants out of CBJ Gonz. Don't know if the Canes are looking in to that, but what would be an appropriate offer for him?
11/18/2011 2:24:20 PM
Keep whiny ass Jeff Carter the fuck away from our already-broken hockey team.
11/18/2011 2:30:10 PM
you're nuts, Jeff Carter would be a great pick up.
11/18/2011 2:33:18 PM
I think he is only whiny because he got traded to CBJ. Doesn't help that they are worse than us.
11/18/2011 2:34:05 PM
The whining is what got him traded to CBJ in the first place. And yes, he is a great hockey player. He's also incredibly injury prone, has a gigantic contract, and has a reputation as a me-first guy in the locker room.
11/18/2011 2:39:53 PM
I just know 'ol 313 is gonna be at least 50% slugs fans tonight. Actually, the way we're playing, I wouldn't be surprised if there are about 15,000 slugs fans in attendance.
11/18/2011 4:13:04 PM
I'll be in 314 to keep them quiet
11/18/2011 4:35:36 PM
I've suspended all efforts to be loud at any point until this team gives me reason to again
11/18/2011 4:47:35 PM
^4 it was the drinking and partying that got carter traded from philly.
11/18/2011 5:17:16 PM
Canes playing pretty great tonight....sucks Enroth is killing it[Edited on November 18, 2011 at 9:23 PM. Reason : Goddamit Larose is a marginal talent ][Edited on November 18, 2011 at 9:23 PM. Reason : .]
11/18/2011 9:21:38 PM
great play but we lack that guy that will position himself in front of the goalie and not move no matter what. at least boychuk and faulk showed they belong, hope they get more and more playing time.
11/18/2011 9:35:51 PM
So many shots could've fallen in tonight.
11/18/2011 9:58:55 PM
how many times did Kaberle miss the fucking net tonight[Edited on November 18, 2011 at 10:01 PM. Reason : can apply this to the whole team, actually][Edited on November 18, 2011 at 10:02 PM. Reason : only credited with 2 missed shots, 3 blocked before getting the goal]

11/18/2011 10:29:53 PM
Awful. Just not even a fun game to be at. At least the Sabres fans made the atmosphere lively but there was hardly any physical play and obviously very few goals. Not exactly the best way to introduce a new fan to the sport..So why did Ward not play, not like it would matter... just a rest day after a rough game?
11/19/2011 12:29:10 AM
fun hockey
11/19/2011 9:39:27 AM
do they still play that song?because that song is a lie.
11/19/2011 9:48:00 AM
Maybe Paul can beat his old team and go out in fashion. If you don't follow Proteautype on twitter, do so. He loves him some Paul Maurice.
11/19/2011 10:18:20 AM
Mo's job saved.
11/20/2011 7:22:33 PM
One-goal game against a "ravaged" Leafs roster less than 24 hours after they played Washington...Yeah we have every reason to keep him around.
11/21/2011 12:26:54 AM
hooray!
11/21/2011 9:07:20 AM
11/21/2011 10:03:32 AM
So who thinks tomorrow is the day on Paul Maurice getting fired?I get giddy thinking about it.
11/21/2011 11:53:22 AM
would be kinda funny if jagr scored an empty netter and saluted maurice
11/21/2011 11:57:29 AM
The chances are certainly improved for him being gone tomorrow if he loses tonight.... but I fear we may be having a conversation at the end of the year about how if the Canes had won just ONE MORE of the last 8 games, we would have made the playoffs. Of course, PoMo will still be behind the bench at said conversation time.
11/21/2011 1:34:21 PM
guys i really don't think they are going to fire Mo quite yet. i wouldn't get your hopes up.
11/21/2011 2:14:05 PM
I'm beginning to think that Mo will either be fired in the Late-December to Mid-January time frame when the season is already lost, or that they will keep him on all year and just not re-up his contract.
11/21/2011 3:34:35 PM
We're at the point where I hate winning or losing. I hate losing because it just means that Paul Maurice is still on the bench, and I hate winning because it just gives Rutherford more pause in firing him now. Nevermind that he is a sub-.500 career coach or anything...
11/21/2011 3:44:20 PM
How does this organization expect to win with the jostling of lines like PoMo does? I mean every day there are different line combos. It just seems that the guys never being consistently on a line with each other really hurts the system and solidarity you would expect from NHL players. The only line that seems to work is Skinns and Finns, which is as annoying as hearing BBC line years after that line was disbanded. The point there is that it seems they are doing it because common fans relate back to that line, and how things were good during that lines time. (That's probably incoherent but it makes sense in my head)On that same token, how does bringing up and sending down 4th line players help this team at all? If they are expecting to start winning by 4th line changes that they constantly do, it's going to be a long year. I know they are moving pieces on the upper lines, but at this point I don't see how Boychuk is going to progress as an NHLer by not being consistently in the show. Dalpe and Bowman are suffering that same way, and its frustrating because those are some good hockey players. Finally, it just seems to me that Mo has not been fired because he responded to the media about being a man and this is the nature of the beast and whatnot. The team wanted to give another push showing their support for Mo and have had some "decent" games since. Yet, I fear in a week when we have lost 2 or 3 games allowing 5 goals each... after the honeymoon of rumored change is over, we are going to be well situated on the outside looking in and will be stuck there the remainder of the year.
11/21/2011 4:00:54 PM
PoMo isn't sleeping... anyone else see those bags???
11/21/2011 7:05:43 PM
Holy Fuck Skinner!!
11/21/2011 7:47:24 PM
Jeff Skinner is just... Jesus.

What is this? I don't even know? I feel like in the past 3 days I'm in an alternate universe. State beats Clemson, basketball comes back from a huge deficit and the 'Canes win in Philly. Wow.
11/21/2011 9:39:04 PM

11/21/2011 10:13:14 PM
I did see some frogs the other day isn't that a sign too ?
11/21/2011 10:14:55 PM
We didn't forecheck the entire night. More or less running the 1-3-1 the whole game. Fuck it, it worked and was more entertaining than everyone skating around like chickens with their heads cut off.Ladies and gentlemen, your New Jersey Devils.
11/21/2011 10:19:29 PM
I'm not hopping off the negative bandwagon yet. We beat a Flyers team without their 2nd leading scorer and 2 of their top 4 defensemen. Unfortunately this little "run" is going to keep us out of the playoffs, by keeping Mo.
11/22/2011 9:21:39 AM
^^ Bahahaha. Fuck it, I can't say anything. Those dummies blew a 3-0 lead to the damn Florida Panthers last night. Marty's been pissing me off this year...
11/22/2011 6:21:50 PM
ESPN Rumors said that there are talks between us and Columbus of an Allen for Vermette trade. I wouldn't mind getting a Center...but am I the only one who thinks we should be keeping Allen? Besides his play, I just think that losing one of only two guys on the team who will fight is a bad thing during a season where we're going to have to be playing catch up a lot.
11/22/2011 7:32:25 PM
I don't see how that makes sense? According to our current depth chart, where does he fit?
11/22/2011 7:54:18 PM
uh top 6 center? keep skinner and ruutu with staal, then Vermette with Jokinen and someone else? we've been looking for top 6 for a while.
11/22/2011 8:07:30 PM
Vermette would be a great addition if we can pull it off. I'd love Staal, Vermette, Sutter as our Top 3 centers. I don't know if I want to sacrifice Allen, but if that's what it takes it might be necessary as I've wanted Vermette since he was in Ottawa.
11/22/2011 8:48:57 PM
I totally see the up side in Vermette. No question. I guess what confuses me is where do you put Juice? On a wing with Stewart and Vermette? Then Tlusty, Sutter, Poni?I don't know if Faulk is going back to Charlotte, so that could be why Allen will go. As far as the fighting comment goes, I don't really think of this organization as a fighting organization. Are there other pieces that would make more sense to move instead of Allen? Maybe Joslin and Boychuk for Vermette and a late rounder?
11/22/2011 9:39:35 PM
Stewart is on the fast track to being off this roster.
