lol...wonder if its downloading all the future map packs, so that if/when you do purchase them, the map pack purchase download is only like 108KB

the last Fight Night game did something like that...I did a free download for like 2 new boxers and maybe a few pairs of trunks/robes...download was like 1.5 GB...i think you downloaded all the boxers, venues, everything in the first download, and then if you unlocked a subsequent add-on it was a tiny download, just to essentially unlock that part of the content

TWC shit the bed yesterday after lvl3 backbone failed due to a cascade failure during a routine firewall/router firmware updates that caused millions of pc's loose connectivity or severely limited the amount of packet throughput. My cable was shitty all of yesterday.

enjoyed it. actually forgot about some old friends i used play MW2 with. apparently they stuck together playing Blops and are all now good as shit, but we played together for a few hours and it was a lot of fun.

The party system is still crappy and it was taking way too long to game match last night. Lots of dropped matches and migrating hosts too.


It's going to take me quite awhile to get used to these maps but so far they seem interesting.

Finally some real recoil and the larger guns make turning even harder. It sucks when someone sneaks up on you, but it feels more real.

Only played the first 3 campaign missions but they were a lot of of fun.

Anyone else have issues with not receiving game invites? For some reason my group would send me an invite and I would never receive it. I could join in progress but didn't want to get thrown on the other team.

that pp90 gun with the cylinder reload thing is pretty epic. I run that with 2 attachments, silencer and rapid fire. Combine it with assassin and it is a wrecking ball

Played about an hour and a half so far, having a lot of fun. The only thing I don't like about it is that one of the strengths of CoD4 I thought was the simple map design (much like Quake and CounterStrike). Once I get used to the maps I'm sure I'll have more fun though. And the new map designs do have one good thing in that they make all weapons viable (except snipers really).

I've only played 3 or 4 as well, says there are 16 though. I just wish you could turn down the detail Quake style to make it easier to spot targets. Also, the engine feels better on the PC. Besides the few lagging issues I had, the engine generally runs a lot better than Black Ops seemed to.

I dont understand how it differentiates between what type of streak rewards you get, support or assault...

You set it up in each class. If you have an offensive class that gets a lot of kills, go assault and you get the classic killstreak options (that reset each time you die). If you do more of a support class (ie. Riot Shield), then set that class to Support options and you get other (somewhat lesser) rewards for gaining assist points, capturing flags, dom points, etc... And they continue to build even when you die. I think the point totals required are the same as they would be for consecutive kills.
