7/19/2011 5:47:17 PM
damn, last time AAPL was in the 70s, I owned some for about $20 and thought I was awesome taking those profits.I shoulda moved everything I had into AAPL then. holy mother of fuck.
7/19/2011 6:04:42 PM

7/19/2011 8:55:27 PM
god damnitI had my ThinkOrSwim app up getting ready to put an order in at 3:30 today for a few shares and a coworker stopped by and distracted me and I completely forgot about it.
7/19/2011 9:32:01 PM
Wow. Somewhat sad I am out of AAPL, but can't be too upset about making a killing over the last 2 years.I never thought any tech company would eclipse Microsoft, and certainly not Apple. But damn, all of this in a horrible Obama recession. Also, that dude up there is bragging about 17 shares. hahaha[Edited on July 19, 2011 at 11:12 PM. Reason : .]
7/19/2011 11:11:02 PM
17 shares FTW!Actually IBM is my biggest holding. The kool-aid tastes so good.

I just put on the Microsoft Google 1x15 for 25 bucks to the 15. Im looking to do more thought this would be a good start. I bought the 15 Microsoft units and sold one Apple paying 25 bucks. I just have a hard time thinking this is a $400 stock. They are reliant on the american consumer. I can not think of a more extended lot. Wall Street gets ahead of itself on the way up and on the way down. Reminds me of cisco in the 90's who got to 500b market cap and CNBC had a much trimmer Maria asking if Cisco was going to be the first trillion $ company. We know what happened next, 87b now. It is a strong company, Apple has 60 billion in cash and investments, they are like a large hedge fund. The trade is Microsoft closes the gap. Apple is tossed around by every daytrader and computer algo on the street. Maybe if shtf hot money pulls back out of apple. If things get good you have 15 shares of Microsoft to lessen the blow, if things turn in to a zombie state perpetuated by freshly minted fiat maybe Microsofts bus and government exposure outperform the stagflation lessened hunger of the american consumer. I made money on apple owning it but got out early, something happens to companies when they get big. Ill let ya know how it works out.

So I bought $20k more worth of gold and silver yesterday about an hour before close. I also did something I swore is stop doing which was make a short term trade even when I'm going against the grain of the fundamentals. I bought $22k of IVW just because I believe in that $88 billion M2 story and its ability to put off a fake LEI reading.
7/21/2011 8:50:19 AM
played $tzoo aug 60 calls this morning for +15% after that horrid 30% drop.
7/21/2011 10:16:19 AM
M2 was the strongest of the ten, saved the LEI reading enough to let a relatively good fed report pump the market. And now I dump. Not holding this bag
7/21/2011 11:32:57 AM
chasing FAS today... missed the 7% pop, but hoping the forthcoming Obama/Boehner statements will make it run.
7/21/2011 12:49:04 PM
just bought 40,000 shares of AVOPD with a $0.008 limit172% gain today, lets see if this baby makes some more noise!]
7/21/2011 2:42:13 PM
well i'm already negative by about 50% in less than 2 hours on that dealbut if the stock ever hits $0.55 like it did about 6 months ago, I'll turn $320 into $20k
7/21/2011 6:56:05 PM

7/21/2011 7:12:20 PM

7/21/2011 7:39:00 PM
Oh baby BAC is getting ever so close to going under. Everyone knows their assets are marked to fantasy but if that settlement gets ruled fraudulent by the courts (the guy was an ex employee!!!) And they change it to ~$25 BILLION look out below.

this thread is full of emotion
7/24/2011 6:31:43 PM
why do i even think about selling BIDU? ever...
7/26/2011 1:02:33 AM
hope you guys have been smart enough to quit using stop losses, these algos are totally wrecking people's shit these days. The brokers are handing the data over and the HFT's are flushing all the stop losses out with fake volatility. This is similar to how they used to break the margin traders in the 30's.
7/26/2011 10:46:28 PM
while the SEC is a joke, im pretty sure insider trading at that level wouldn't go unchecked/punished
7/27/2011 2:12:58 AM
Pretty bearish on the market short term. Thinking about buying some SDOW, triple leveraged inverse of the market. Market goes down, you make triple. Maybe do a week long trade or something playing off the debt ceiling debacle
7/27/2011 10:29:07 AM
yeah, a bunch of my trailing stops have triggered over the last 2 days, especially on my 3x etfs
7/27/2011 10:29:28 AM
so the majority of this fall is debt ceiling related, right? once we reach an agreement stocks should return to their previous levels, right?I'm taking a killing right now but I don't want to short or go in until a consensus is reach. Whats the likelihood that we reach and 11th hour agreement next Monday?
7/27/2011 10:35:10 AM
Its macro related, so yes debt talks are part of it. Its not tanking as much as you think. Volatility is at about the historical average. The market is fickle right now... between earnings and euro debt issues, U.S. debt issues, etc.IMO I think they will reach a temporary agreement which will extend the talks. I dont think the market will rally no matter what deal is reached.

^It is likely overpriced at this point, but very different from Krispy. Not too mention, Duncan went through a similar period as Krispy with attempting to grow too rapidly. They have since revamped their business model, taken market share in the retail coffee space which they never had, and are practicing controlled growth of new stores, while their same store sales are increasing. It is a great story, but will likely need a correction before it becomes a value buy again after its first couple days of trading...then again, I did by alcoa a couple of weeks ago at 15.91...so I am not proclaiming to be a stock picker by any means
7/28/2011 10:53:24 AM
Futures 1288...starting to get fun. Feels like early next week is up 50 or down 100 saw some big bets we are moving. Gamma is king.
7/28/2011 11:10:51 PM
The dollar didn't like the news either, the Bernank will save the day. I cant wait to see the what the next round of tricks and scams will be. Physical PMs only.

Check it, you know how I be this week the market can't do without qe3, hey market tell me how my gold tastes
7/29/2011 4:06:46 PM
So...the markets have gotten beaten down over the last week or two, with the uncertainty and fear surrounding this debt deal. However, does anyone really believe that a deal won't be reached? It'll probably be at the 11th hour, but even if it isn't and we pass the default deadline, does anyone believe that a deal won't be reached shortly after that? With that in mind, is anyone else feeling ballsy and looking to buy tomorrow, assuming that no deal is struck tonight to drive the markets to a higher opening?
7/31/2011 7:09:39 PM
I don't think the market runs on whether the debt ceiling is raised or not. We may get a rebound but the underlying fundamentals still look bad, the Transports are signaling bad news, GDP was revised, and QE3 is nowhere in site yet. I'm hoping we actually do get a bit of a lift from averting catastrophe so I can put some shorts on.
