I am happy to report that I said "Fuck you, life" and I'm going to get Skyrim this weekend. Unless I wise up before then.

just made my first set of orcish armor, all exquisite. What sucks is the dwarf mace still does 2 more damage than the orc one at the same upgraded level got %block enchants on my gloves and shield tho
11/17/2011 6:17:23 PM
Should i join the legion or the rebellion
11/17/2011 7:02:46 PM
Should you join the empire or the rebel alliance?
11/17/2011 7:03:42 PM
Dude, you are in Skyrim, not Cyrodil.
11/17/2011 7:08:06 PM
Despite their blatant racism, I joined the storm cloaks, but I'm only like 2 missions deep so far

sucks you had to fight the first one at night. Soooo much easier in the day time.
11/17/2011 7:56:08 PM
Are frost trolls really that hard, or am I just progressing too quickly in the game (level 12 on like the 3rd main story quest). Those things are ridiculous.
11/17/2011 8:47:34 PM
Trolls, giants, and mammoths are kicking my ass at level 14. I can still kill the shit out of every dragon I come across, however.
11/17/2011 8:58:27 PM
Yeah, funny you mention that. I hit an area called Labyrinthonia, or something like that, and it's crawling with trolls. Each one practically heals quicker than I can do damage and if I have to back off the fight for one instant to regen health the thing regens its own health to near full. Then a dragon appeared shortly thereafter and I didn't have to swig one potion (didn't have any thanks to the trolls anyway) or regen health once.
11/17/2011 9:10:25 PM
^^^yes trolls fuck you up, especially frost
11/17/2011 9:38:24 PM
use your words of power, they're solid damage in addition to your normal attack
11/17/2011 10:05:53 PM
I like how quest items are weightless.
11/17/2011 10:21:36 PM
No, they're not. I was carrying around 20lbs of witches' heads for a while and couldn't get rid of them because "you cannot discard quest items."
11/17/2011 10:27:44 PM
after you use the one head at the end of that quest line you can dump the rest in your chest at your house
11/17/2011 10:31:46 PM
i havent run into a troll yet that causes me trouble. Ive run into a dragon that 2 shots me or my companionbut im 23 and i still need to go get the horn for the shout quest
11/17/2011 10:33:02 PM
^That's the quest where I met all those frost trolls. Up until then I ran into a cave by a waterfall filled with several normal trolls and they didn't give me near as much trouble.
11/17/2011 10:42:02 PM
the fire shout is the one i use the most, works great on trolls, and pretty much everything elsebut I'm melee, so it fits with my playstyleif you're a caster or archer, you should really finish the graybeard questline, and get the full-power, 3 word Unrelenting Force shout*. That thing will keep anything away from you. there is a invulnerability shout you can get too, which is good if you need to run quick and heal upJust keep a couple of shouts marked as favorites, so you can select the important ones at a moments notice.[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 10:53 PM. Reason : *don't forget to hold your shout button down long enough to get all 3 words out]

Yeah, I took the long route to High Hrothgar without realizing there was a faster way. Next time I play the game I'll be able to save so much time The walk to the tomb in the Companion missions about Korlak is another long ass walk if you haven't been out that way yet. [Edited on November 18, 2011 at 7:29 AM. Reason : Korlak]
11/18/2011 7:27:53 AM
there is a faster way up the mountain to the greybeards? i took the stone steps path and yea it was way long.
11/18/2011 7:59:49 AM
^ this
11/18/2011 8:02:15 AM
Still don't know what you folks are talking about. I too took the 7000 steps and it only took about 10 minutes.
11/18/2011 8:04:39 AM
i think part of it is if you level too fast before you walk the steps you get faced with some nasty spawns.took down a regular dragon, two blood dragons, and a frost dragon last night. frost dragon gave me the most problems, but mainly due to nothing to hide behind during breath attack and less time spent landing and breathing
11/18/2011 8:15:59 AM
lol I'm definiely not looking forward to the greybeards then, I'm level 19
11/18/2011 8:25:52 AM
yeah, i went up to their place the first time at 15, ran into some frost wolves and ice wraiths.not terrible if you've leveled up in combat, but i had leveled up mainly in noncombat skills.

It took me forever because I couldn't find the 'attack angle' to summit that mountain. Originally I approached from the southwest and eventually hit a dead end. Lots of backtracking before I realized that bridge across the waterfall was the start of the 7000 step thing. I wonder if anyone will be obsessed enough with this game to verify there are 7000 steps.
11/18/2011 9:13:33 AM
^ same...Nord here as well.
11/18/2011 9:15:04 AM
yeah, i'm a khajiit, i was chugging down frost resist potions in the fight, but finally got it to land in a nice spot to pick it off with the bow
11/18/2011 9:19:34 AM
11/18/2011 9:55:30 AM
so, should i be looking at making a straight warrior, is the opinion to go with a nord for frost resist? or an orc for berserker?
11/18/2011 10:01:56 AM
the word should doesnt really work with this game.you can do either of those things
11/18/2011 10:05:15 AM
the logic i used was: I'm going to be playing a game based almost entirely in an arctic/winter environment. Cold resist might come in handy.Doing good so far.[Edited on November 18, 2011 at 10:14 AM. Reason : n]
11/18/2011 10:13:14 AM
well, should is all in the opinion of aesthetics i suppose.I've played about 40 hours now with a rogue type class, so next round will be either a caster or a warrior. just trying to decide which sounds more appealing and looks better i like the idea of crafting the high end heavy armor though
11/18/2011 10:31:16 AM
^ I've thoroughly enjoyed blacksmithing my armor
11/18/2011 10:34:45 AM
i was wandering around in my typical fashion, came across bard's leap summit. thought to myself, 'that's pretty high, i wonder if i can jump off that'. YUP. and you get speech +1 for doing so
11/18/2011 11:04:13 AM
^^ i've gotten smithing and alchemy pretty high now, enchanting is going up solely due to recharging weapons from thieves guild quest line. but mostly took smithing for weapon crafting. hoping to find stronger bows
11/18/2011 11:09:16 AM
i was over there killing cavemen then i climbed up and killed their leader then two bird witches resurrected him and shot fire kamehamehas at me and i jumped off the waterfall and there was a ghost true story i shit you not
11/18/2011 12:50:41 PM
Every enchantment you make up to like Level 35, levels up that skill by +1.
11/18/2011 12:53:23 PM
I played the shit out of Morrowind but don't get the reference
11/18/2011 1:02:50 PM
Do what
11/18/2011 1:04:00 PM
For some reason I read Minecraft as Morrowindreferring to the giant-ass image above[Edited on November 18, 2011 at 1:06 PM. Reason : lkj]
11/18/2011 1:05:29 PM
Went to shearpoint and facerolled the blood dragon......then proceeded to get my ass handed to me by Krosis (one of the dragon priests). Just keeps floating backwards while shooting fireballs at me.
11/18/2011 1:43:12 PM
yeah, he owned me bad the first time.after that i found a hiding spot to take him down ranged. it appeared he couldn't keep casting fireballs at one point though
