6/9/2011 8:26:21 AM
We're ranked 24 in the video gameThis borderline shocks me

6/9/2011 9:48:45 AM
I remember when we had a four-star prestige ranking
6/9/2011 10:08:06 AM
Wait, Clemson has better ratings than us and more prestige in that list... how are they behind us?
6/9/2011 10:34:14 AM
Rankings and actual talent levels have never matched up for that game. Just like the real life polls.

interesting looking back to 2007 when Jay Smith was a four* WR prospect - his only weakness was "Route-Running Skills"... interesting that TJ claims that is the one thing you need to do to catch balls that MG throws.

I love how in the UNC vid above, when we get that fluke hail mary/deflection TD, you can see Butch Davis is like "WTF?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!" Then they cut over to TOB and he's like, "hmmm....wtf."
6/10/2011 8:24:49 AM
the bowl game was insanely fun. Orlando is also the biggest dump I've ever seen.

For those of you that were there, how loud was Carter-Finley when George Bryan caught that 4th down touchdown against FSU?
6/10/2011 5:44:11 PM
it was... loud?
6/10/2011 6:05:37 PM

#81, Torry Holt, Retired Jersey6'0", 200 lbs., Wide ReceiverAt NC State: Torry Holt was a human highlight film for NC State from 1995-98, and culminated his career by being named a consensus All-American. Holt rewrote the NC State record books, setting single game, single season and career records in almost every passing category. He also set an ACC record with 3,379 reception yards for his career. The two-time All-ACC performer was named the ACC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year following his senior campaign, and was also a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, honoring the nation’s top wide receiver. His jersey was retired on Jan. 16, 1999 during halftime ceremonies of the final NC State-UNC basketball contest that was played in Reynolds Coliseum. In the Professional Ranks: Holt was a first-round draft pick of the Saint Louis Rams in 1999, the sixth selection overall, and has already made the Pro Bowl six times. He won a Super Bowl ring during his rookie campaign, and in the process set Super Bowl rookie records with seven catches and 109 receiving yards. He was the first player in NFL history to record five straight seasons with 1,300 receiving yards, and he was the fifth-fastest in NFL history to 5,000 yards and fourth-fastest to 500 career receptions.
6/13/2011 6:59:56 PM
The 1998 Biletnikoff Award was given to Louisiana Tech's Troy Edwards rather than Torry Holt. Holt though would go on to the better NFL career and be a part of "The Greatest Show On Turf" in St. Louis that won Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000 and appear in Super Bowl XXXVI.
6/13/2011 7:49:45 PM
Troy Edwards flaked out with the Steelers. I don't think he lasted more than 5 seasons. glad for Torry and his successful career...he has represented himself and the NCSU program well over the years.

Dunlap's Corner. Only redeeming thing to that season. That was an awesome game but such a painful season.
6/13/2011 11:53:56 PM
I was there for that game...actually sitting in that particular corner of the endzone where Dunlap caught that pass. But can someone explain to me why Chuck said "I hate to use those two words...Philip Rivers." in that video?? I'm a little confused. I guess he just didn't wanna compare someone to a prior great QB...but why?!?! [Edited on June 14, 2011 at 1:35 AM. Reason : .]

http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1231015I didn't realize glennon was higher rated coming out of high school than Andrew Luck. Obviously we are now going to win the national championship.
6/14/2011 9:50:43 AM
^ thanks for the link. Good read. Can't wait to watch Glennon sling it around this fall.
6/14/2011 10:07:02 AM
Just narrowly avoided taking out Ramses at 3:03 in in Carolina video.
6/14/2011 10:15:12 AM
Glennon will get a lot of attention and criticism naturally because of his position. But I'm not that worried about him individually. It sounds like he has all the tools to be successful. What I'm more concerned about are the players that will be on the field with him. Offensive line: Will the sophomore group improve going into their junior seasons? Wilson has bailed them out at times with his scrambling ability. Can they give Glennon enough time to make the throws? Someone is going to get injured at some point. Wallace is already down and has been for the spring - how long can the group stay healthy?Wide Receivers: We still have decent depth at the position even with the loss of the 'Big 3', with three returning seniors to lead a group of younger players. The good news is that Glennon has run the second team offense in practice the past few years, which has included our returning receivers. My question is: how much of the offense is Coach Bible changing to cater to Glennon's strengths, and will the receivers learn it well enough to know where they are supposed to be?
