Guru & Co.: advice needed. I think I did okay in the draft at every position except QB, where I made some dumbfuck choices and ended up with 2 poor selections (Vince Young, Matt Stafford). There is another guy in our league who had jury duty during the draft and had his whole team selected by autopicker, resulting in him not even having a full lineup (we run 2 WR, 1 TE, and 1 WR/TE flex--he's one player short of the 4 slots) but having way too many QB/RB. Should I propose a trade with him to upgrade my QB and give him more WR options? League is PPR *only* for TE's. My current team:STARTERSQB - Matthew StaffordRB - Ray RiceRB - Pierre ThomasWR - Larry FitzgeraldWR - Anquan BoldinWR - Percy HarvinTE - Jason WittenK - Garrett HartleyD/ST - Minnesota VikingsBENCH - Vince Young, Malcom Floyd, Jerricho Cotchery, Pierre Garcon, Ben Watson, Darren Sproles, Willis McGaheeOther player has available: Brett Favre QB, Eli Manning QB, Alex Smith QB, Matt Ryan QB, Chad Henne QB, Jerome Harrison RB, Rashard Mendenhall RB, Jamaal Charles RB, LeSean McCoy RB, Shonn Greene RB, Santonio Holmes WR, Kenny Britt WR, John Carlson TE, David Akers K, Dallas Cowboys D/ST

If you can pick up Orton he'd be a good fit for this week at least
9/9/2010 5:50:56 PM
My 2 QBs are Flacco and Orton. I was planning on playing Flacco all along, but just now I was looking at my league and what ESPN's projections are. The project Orton to get me 18 points vs Flacco getting 11. While I normally don't put too much stock into these projections, but I know the Ravens are playing the Jets (away game for BAL)...and that probably won't bode well for Flacco's numbers. Denver is playing Jacksonville (away game for DEN). While I do think that Orton has a favorable matchup with the Jags, do you guys think that's enough for him to get the nod over Flacco? Thanks.

^I was thinking along the same lines. I know matchups are important, but Flacco is the better QB and has better options at WR.I think I'd stick with Floyd. That's just me though. Especially since Vincent Jackson won't be playing.[Edited on September 9, 2010 at 7:19 PM. Reason : L]

Hoping I don't regret starting Harvin over Floyd--done now, at any rate!
9/9/2010 8:36:23 PM
I have AP and a pretty decent team. He needs to explode somehow, cause my opponent has CJ and also a pretty decent team. CJ will almost definitely explode vs. Oak this week

Missing Person: Pierre ThomasIf seen, please contact Fantasy Owners everywhere immediately.Glad I sat him in my $$$ league. I figured he wouldn't be a huge part of the game plan, but one touch for -2 yards is absurd.[Edited on September 9, 2010 at 9:17 PM. Reason : asdf]

Harvin is sucking it up for me, and the kicker got a PAT blocked , Drew Brees is doing ok but he needs some points in the 4th quarter .

PAT block was good for me

Also won a sidebet with the roommate that Bernard Berrian wouldn't do jack shit this game. He'll have to finish off the blueberry raz four lokos that have been sitting in the fridge for two months.

I drafted Pierre Thomas last year. Ended up trading him early in the year for someone else who didn't do jack (don't remember who...a WR I think). What looked like a potential big trade turned into a dud for both sides. I passed on Thomas this year...hope I don't end up regretting it.[Edited on September 9, 2010 at 11:38 PM. Reason : .]

So I already screwed up leaving P. Thomas on the bench tonight, so;Pick 2 of these 3: Forte (vs. Lions), Bradshaw (vs. Panthers), and Harrison (vs. Bucs).

Harrison and Bradshaw

damn Favre barely even looked to throw it to Harvin, and then he barely got any return yards either. I got fucked there. I'm still happy I didnt start Pierre Thomas in one of my leagues, I still think Arian Foster will put up more points than him this weekend

Just thought I'd ask again:My 2 QBs are Flacco and Orton. I was planning on playing Flacco all along, but just now I was looking at my league and what ESPN's projections are. The project Orton to get me 18 points vs Flacco getting 11. I normally don't put too much stock into these projections, but I the Ravens are playing the Jets (away game for BAL)...and that probably won't bode well for Flacco's numbers. Denver is playing Jacksonville (away game for DEN). While I do think that Orton has a favorable matchup with the Jags, do you guys think that's enough for him to get the nod over Flacco? Thanks.Flacco is the better QB with better options...but he is playing the Jets. Any suggestions? Also, we have a RB/WR position. I currently have Brandon Jacobs there. But the Giants said that Bradshaw would start and then they'd go with the hot hand from there. I can also put Hakeem Nicks, Clinton Portis, Michael Bush, or Dez Bryant at the position. I'm leaning towards Nicks...any advice there?[Edited on September 10, 2010 at 11:07 AM. Reason : add]
9/10/2010 10:55:44 AM
I'm leaning towards Orton, Jax was 28th in passing D last year and tied for 27th with 28 passing TDs against. We all know the NYJ were the #1 D last year. Orton had the 11th most passing yds last year (but he did have Marshall), Flaaco was 15th(without Boldin). They tied with 21TDs each.[Edited on September 10, 2010 at 11:25 AM. Reason : .]

^ and ^^ Thanks guys. I'm thinking Orton as well. Still torn on Jacobs/Nicks. I'm assuming Bradshaw and Jacobs will split time fairly evenly (unless one is just unstoppable)...so its a toss up really. Probably slightly leaning towards Jacobs...but we'll see. The Panthers (who the Giants play) run defense wasn't very good last year. And they lost some guys up front so that probably won't help either. Their pass defense was pretty good last year...so I'm still a Jacobs lean. [Edited on September 10, 2010 at 11:27 AM. Reason : add ]
9/10/2010 11:21:25 AM
Ive heard bad things about Jacobs just as far as him losing a step, and seeing how Bradshaw has done in the preseason. If it were me I'd either go Nicks or take a stab with Portis
9/10/2010 11:26:06 AM
Ahmad Bradshaw vs CarorMalcom Floyd @ KCOnly differences in normal scoring are .5 ppr & 2 extra points if the player gets over 100 yds receiving or rushing
9/10/2010 12:28:12 PM
This may go against common sense, but in this case I take Floyd. I think that the Chiefs are going to try and buckle down hard on Gates, since he destroyed them in both contests last year. With the extra attention that Gates receives I believe that Floyd may be due for a big week against a bad secondary. I think that the Panthers run defense will be pretty stout this year, and the redzone work will more than likely be going to Jacobs, so while Bradshaw may get a solid amount of yardage, I'll say 75 yds rushing, 20 yards receiving, I think Floyd will have a bigger day.Don't shoot me if I'm wrong
9/10/2010 1:46:15 PM
^ I like your reasoning. I too suggest Floyd over Bradshaw. SD did put up 43 on KC last year
9/10/2010 2:16:04 PM
I'm thin at WR, should I start Dez Bryant, Steve Breston, or David Aromadashu?
9/11/2010 2:04:07 AM
Aromashodu

What defense would you rather have for the season?MiamiTennesseeNew England
9/11/2010 10:12:19 AM
^ At this point, none of them are great options. I would just play matchups and get a new defense every week.
9/11/2010 10:18:11 AM

9/11/2010 12:03:02 PM
^^ I agree, I drafted the 49'ers D but once their bye week hits I'll be playing the matchups the rest of season (aka whoever plays the rams or seattle that week).^ I'm not big on Mendenhall this year, esp in PPR leagues. I'd probably consider Bowe or Charles in the flex spot instead, and I might even sub Bowe for Steve Smith since Carolina's D is looking pretty good right now.

Nah, you're good. Gaffney may have a big day, but no way do you bench any of the guys ahead of him.Good looking lineup.
9/11/2010 5:55:46 PM
I still can't decide whether to start Vince Young or Matt Ryan...Young is at home against Oakland which has a bad defense....Ryan is away at Pittsburgh which has a good defense but is playing their 3rd string QB...I am leaning towards Young right now
9/11/2010 11:45:12 PM
Go with Ryan. Oakland Pass D isn't that bad....it's their run D. CJ will have a field day they won't need to pass.PPR League: Pick 2: Charles vs KC, Greene vs Bal, Forte vs Det
