yea its ok. at first its a little comforting and familiar as a sigur ros fan...and then it just stays too familiar and almost too happy for me overall.
4/13/2010 6:13:11 PM
Really digging BSS, but not as much as I thought I would have.I need to give LCD Soundsystem another listen. I was kind of half listening the first time and it didn't really register with me.
4/13/2010 8:04:25 PM
track 5 from the new national albumhttp://soundcloud.com/user6556083/05-afraid-of-everyone
4/13/2010 9:16:30 PM
The BSS is pretty good but not great. There really isn't anything bad on it but also nothing that really blew me away either.I am loving that LCD Soundsystem record
4/14/2010 2:25:43 PM
agreed on both countsI really love I Can Change and You Wanted A Hit
4/14/2010 3:33:31 PM

4/15/2010 4:41:31 PM
Wasn't really impressed with either the LCD Soundsystem or the BSS on first listen. Nothing really stuck out.I keep going back to that new Future Islands.

SOUTHEAST RALEIGH REPRESENT
4/15/2010 9:39:08 PM
I need to know more about these fellows. Did they go to SE Raleigh High? I'm wondering if my old HS band teacher taught them. That'd be fucking rad.[Edited on April 15, 2010 at 9:44 PM. Reason : yes i said "rad."]
4/15/2010 9:43:47 PM
William, the bass player, did.He was in my band in high school, and to the best of my knowledge he didn't have any classes with Mr. Scott.
4/15/2010 10:43:36 PM
ahh. That's still pretty cool, though. Mr. Scott was my band teacher for 2 years in HS. Pretty awesome dude.
4/16/2010 9:36:34 AM
4/16/2010 10:27:24 AM

4/16/2010 1:52:34 PM
Have listened to the new LCD Soundystem > 10 times in the last two days. James Murphy couldn't make a bad record if he tried.
4/16/2010 4:10:37 PM
3-4 listens on the LCD Soundsystem. Several great great tracks, but a lot of just average stuff.BSS is weaksauce
4/16/2010 4:14:28 PM
new madlib is quite awesome indeed.
4/16/2010 4:17:20 PM
4/17/2010 12:00:31 AM
New Future Islands is really good, but I wouldn't call it the album of the year "by miles."
4/17/2010 9:05:20 AM
my favorite so far this year is dillinger escape plan's "option paralysis" but I know that won't be a favorite in this thread Also, as much as Circa Survive's last two albums were over-hyped (I enjoyed Juturna but it still was a little over-hyped), the new album is a good step forward. I enjoy it.hxxp://www.mediafire.com/?xvhhienmhyv[Edited on April 17, 2010 at 9:43 AM. Reason : ]

4/17/2010 10:13:35 AM
my most listened to album this year is moving mountains- pneuma ('07), and it's not even closeas for 2010 releases...i can't even think of one i listen to a lot
4/17/2010 10:24:07 AM
i mean thats the only album from 2010 that i remotely like that i have. I might have some albums withouts tags, but i'm pretty sure i've gotten everything of whatI'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.
4/17/2010 10:29:05 AM
the new Josh Ritter that leaked yesterday is a really damn good record thus farjust listening for the first time and the first half of it is genius.
4/17/2010 3:53:54 PM
i wish i had what.cd
4/17/2010 4:20:18 PM
^ you really don't need it. hell, you may be able to take my account over --- i don't even know wtf happened after i registered and didn't use it.You can get the same links a day later, at most, from all the file hosting sites --- i created my own customized search on google and get about anything i want and for leaks, i just follow other boards (including this one) where there are a lot of what.cd members. In my experience, there is no tremendous advantage.Today's playlist has been ---new Harlemnew Josh Ritternew Tallest Man On Earthevery one of those albums are solid, and I foresee all of them being in heavy rotation until The National and The New Pornographers leak.
4/17/2010 6:37:12 PM
Imma hafta say that the In Evening Air is AOTY so far. Once the new The Avalanches drops, ya'll be whilin'.
4/17/2010 6:59:53 PM
i am enjoying the new circa survive
4/17/2010 7:53:17 PM
my favorite torrent site is no longer awesome. fuck lawsuits
4/17/2010 8:00:44 PM
^which?

4/17/2010 11:53:20 PM
I think the de facto album of the year thus far is probably "Teen Dream." People went a little nuts when it came out. Me, I really like the new LCD Soundsystem, and I liked the Yeasayer a lot. That Harlem record, too. "In Evening Air" is really good, I just wouldn't go as far as to say album of the year (for me). Plus, I'm about to listen to the new Hold Steady, which just leaked, and their shit is always really solid.Josh Ritter is a great live performer if you ever get a chance to see him. His enthusiasm is totally infectious.
4/18/2010 11:44:35 AM
^i would have to agree with teen dream so far, with caribou's swim not too far behind, but it's so early in the year. there's a new wolf parade album coming this summer and spencer krug releases have a way of quickly moving into #1 spots for me.
4/18/2010 11:52:30 AM
new Crystal Castles leakedalso enjoying this Dom Sun Bronzed Greek Gods EP. sounds like MGMT before they thought they were a shitty psychedelic band
4/18/2010 12:00:54 PM
As far as albums of the year, now that I'm thinking about it, the Titus Andronicus would be up there for me, too. Even though I didn't like it at first. The new Built to Spill RSD single is really good. The B-Side is a cover of the Charlie Brown/Peanuts theme song.[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 12:55 PM. Reason : .]
4/18/2010 12:26:50 PM
did anyone get the rsd edition of 'heaven is whenever'?
4/18/2010 1:16:10 PM
^Like I said, only one person got it from Schoolkids. I think CD Alley got zero or one. The dude who bought it from us, I hadn't really seen in the store before. But, I think if you just download the leak, it'll be worth it to wait for the official product. The packaging on the RSD version looked kind of dinky to be honest.
4/18/2010 1:27:31 PM
4/18/2010 1:33:00 PM
The cover is a live version. The a-side is studio.[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 1:51 PM. Reason : .]
4/18/2010 1:51:09 PM
the production on the Crystal Castles album kinda rules
4/18/2010 4:19:57 PM
^agreed. other than "doe deer" i was digging that when listening to it earlier today. kinda weird to just self title it again though.
4/18/2010 4:53:12 PM
I like "Doe Dear" even though I think it's destroying my speakers every time I listen to it[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 6:05 PM. Reason : e]
4/18/2010 6:05:09 PM
Just played "Doe Deer" through headphones. Bad idea. Need to hear the album through regular speakers. It sounds good, but it's too much for headphones.
