seriously. they beat the best team in the Big 10 by 35.seriously.
12/6/2008 2:23:10 PM
*via text*-Lebron is here, bad loss but a fun night ahead. We lost on rebounds and that was it people. State people all up top and davidson got the whole bottom.
12/6/2008 2:23:27 PM
Curry scored the points and the other 4 players got the rebounds. Simple gameplan for davidson
12/6/2008 2:23:53 PM
-epic turnovers-giving them 2+ shots on the basket every posession in the second half-Sid rotating players every 2 seconds to prevent any kind of rhythm-No timeout during Davidson's run or immediately to set up the last posession-Fells was out almost all game for some reasonhad we not grabbed ankles in the entire second half we could have won handily, I still think this will be a better season than last
12/6/2008 2:23:55 PM
^x whatever on the last pageI wasnt watching on TVI know we have to foul but curry didnt get the rebound. Some other dude did, foul that guy not the guy that makes 95% of his FT[Edited on December 6, 2008 at 2:24 PM. Reason : a]
12/6/2008 2:23:56 PM
we had every chance to win that game, just didn't.
12/6/2008 2:24:31 PM
let me say it againwe won last year because of hickson inside reboundingwe lost this year because no one knows how to box out.that was literally the difference.
12/6/2008 2:24:46 PM
did fells start?
12/6/2008 2:25:26 PM
Davidson won't make it to the Elite 8 this year, they are a flash in the pan with a sideshow in Steph Curry who took 33 shots and made 15 of them. He may make the NBA yet thats getting close to Iverson level of shots taken. We got outrebounded again. Lowe needs to find a better rotation because this one isn't working. No point guard hurts us as well.
12/6/2008 2:28:04 PM
^Yeah, but he never got into a rhythm and was forcing some pretty awful shots. Typical Courtney Fells ... a few games where he looks like a star, then a complete disappearing act.
12/6/2008 2:28:26 PM
we have no stars on this team, and Sidney couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.
12/6/2008 2:29:40 PM
we have no LEADERS on this team.there aint no Atsur out there yelling a ppl to get their ass right, no Hodge to slap you on the head and say wtf are you doing, play ball.
12/6/2008 2:31:23 PM
so is fells injured or what?
12/6/2008 2:31:26 PM
looks like he hurt his pride.
12/6/2008 2:31:50 PM
12/6/2008 2:32:14 PM
12/6/2008 2:32:29 PM
the worst thing is we will get all the talk from other ACC teams about being an embarassment and how Davidson should be in a power conference because of the freak show.
12/6/2008 2:32:56 PM
steph curry won't be that great in the NBA. He's a great college player. There are different kinds of athletes in the NBA that can shut this "lets take 30 shots a game" shit down. Try going from having CJ Williams guarding you to having Ron Artest guarding you. Good luck you cocky son of a bitch.
12/6/2008 2:33:17 PM
Of course not. People always joke about the NBA having "no defense" but that is only because the absurd athleticism on the offensive side beats the defense. Curry will probably fare a bit better than Redick because he can create but he'll never be more than a 7th or 8th guy on any NBA team...[Edited on December 6, 2008 at 2:35 PM. Reason : I'm out... fun game to watch at least...]
12/6/2008 2:34:49 PM
they still won't make the elite 8 nobody is going to underestimate them this season and we are not a postseason team. In 2+ seasons Lowe has brought NC State back to the Les Robinson era.
12/6/2008 2:35:22 PM
haha wtf, hes a 1 guard or a two at best in the NBA why would ARtest guard him?he'll do fine in the NBA, he can actually make his own shot, he doesnt need 3 guys setting picks to set him up like redick did in collegelike NYM mentioned he also has NO ONE on his team like redick had.he'll be a role player no doubt in the NBA and do fine.
12/6/2008 2:36:13 PM
12/6/2008 2:36:44 PM
i dont even want to go to packpride. i bet they are blowing uppppppppppp
12/6/2008 2:41:22 PM
i'm already over itgonna be a long season of message board backseat coaching and i ain't gonna dwell on it
12/6/2008 2:46:23 PM
this argument is a few pages old, but i think Curry is better than Redick.. he can create his own shot as well as anyone, and he's WAY more clutch
12/6/2008 3:06:10 PM
12/6/2008 3:07:51 PM
honestly if we can improve our rebounding this season we'll fare a lot betterCurry's 34 footer would not have mattered because they'd be down 10 pts, the majority of their first shots in a posession were terrible and when we have three red jerseys still losing out to one white under the basket there's no way you're gonna win not sure what you guys expect to see after finishing last place last season and gaining no new players of any real significance and losing a star center, but I was expecting Davidson to roll us and the effort we put up was surprising and better than I expected except for the rebounding game[Edited on December 6, 2008 at 3:10 PM. Losing by 5 to a ranked team because one of the best college players in the country can't be stopped?I'll take it.
12/6/2008 3:11:55 PM
^,^^
12/6/2008 3:12:20 PM
while i agreeI still dont like the fact that they got 20 offensive reboundsthat is infuckingsanewe probably dont have 20 offensive rebounds all damn year
12/6/2008 3:14:11 PM
From a media standpoint, this shouldn't look so bad because Davidson was favored and curry is good. From an actual basketball standpoint, davidson and curry are not valid excuses. We were in a great position to win the game but lost it on damn rebounds. Out of all the things a basketball player has to learn, rebounding is the fucking easiest. That's the most shameful part. When you try to improve anything, you target the thing that will give you the biggest payoff for the effort expended. Focusing on rebounding technique AND rebounding mentality (desire, toughness) should have been an obvious investment of our practice time.
12/6/2008 3:23:54 PM
There were parts of the game (specifically coming out of the half-time break) where the teams looked lazy as crap. There's no reason they can't at least make an effort to guard against an easy two point shot. There were some parts to the game where you could tell the team was doing everything they could, other 10-15 minute stretches where they weren't even hustling for the ball or the block.
12/6/2008 3:24:37 PM
Sidney looks terrible.
12/6/2008 3:31:26 PM
fail.
12/6/2008 3:40:45 PM
Hard fought game. The hard foul on Ferguson was really bad looking. I don't know if I would have ejected the Davidson guy, but I don't blame the ref for doing it. Curry is flat out amazing. He isn't just a jump shooter. He's got great touch everywhere on the court. I was disappointed in Time Warner Cable Arena. People were saying it was way nicer than the RBC Center, and honestly I just don't see it. The inside part of the arena doesn't look bad, but the concourses are ugly, especially in the upper deck. The floor is just dark concrete and in the 200 level the supporting beams for the stands are very visible. Also the restrooms while not small are all spread out. If you have seats that are along the sideline you have to walk a good ways to get to a restroom. At the RBC Center you either just have to walk across the concourse or maybe down the concourse 50 feet to get to the restroom. The escalator ride to the upper level was the longest escalator ride I've ever been on. Also there aren't as many stair wells when compared to the RBC Center. The concourses in the RBC Center are bright and look great. I could have said more about the game but I just don't feel like it.

after this game my outlook on this season is the same.we should make the NIT. anything more would be a good surprise. anything less will be terrible.although after the way we came out playing the first five minutes i had hopes for a good team.
12/6/2008 4:26:26 PM
The loss wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be; in fact, it appears that it was close enough that some of you are still clinging to your guns and bibles. The truth is that Lowe is an awful coach and that we suck assholes, again.
12/6/2008 4:29:43 PM
to sum up 13 pages so you dont have to read it:WE SUCK
12/6/2008 4:50:13 PM
Mr. Lowe looks like he has aged ten years since his first season.
12/6/2008 4:54:09 PM
I can't believe I ever thought Lowe would be a good coach at any level. Can we please fire Lee Fowler
12/6/2008 5:03:01 PM
12/6/2008 5:13:18 PM
72-67
12/6/2008 5:14:39 PM
We pretty much lost it on Curry's lucky 3 from halfcourt. I think lowe would do better if he only had 5 players he could put in the game, like his first year, rather than being able to swap everybody out sporadically.
12/6/2008 5:20:17 PM
you actually still think that was "luck" its not like he banked it off the backboard or something
12/6/2008 5:21:38 PM
any shot put up halfway between the 3pt line and the halfcourt line is lucky. I was impressed with the way we played. We could be duke and have lost to Michigan. I don't like how Curry is the little bitch who can't be touched this year. He is allowed to bump anyone on screens without the ball while moving and push people off at will. Someone needs to elbow him in the head and show him some humility.
12/6/2008 5:49:26 PM
If Curry wanted to shoot that shot he made with a 1:20 left all game he's probably make more than anyone on our team with their toes on the old 3 point line. That wasn't luck. (Actually, thats insulting to Curry. Lets just say he'd make 35 percent of them or more) I was more upset that we didn't put a body on him on rebounding situations. We were giving up the rebound anyway, but we were leaving him AND getting beat for offensive boards. You can't do shit about that shot though. It was amazing. On the other hand, someone get Dennis Horner out of the fucking game. He's terrible. I blame this loss on his inability to do anything but stand there and look stupid. He's great at that.
12/6/2008 5:52:11 PM
yeah, I imagine that curry probably hits close to 20% on half court shots. he squared up and shot the ball nicely, it wasn't just a heave
12/6/2008 5:54:52 PM
Besides LeBron James sitting courtside cheering on Curry, JJ Hickson was there sitting behind the bench to support the team. I wish our fans could have really showed up for this game. We had a good many fans there, but a good amount of them were in the upper deck. The upper deck baseline seats and some in the corners were empty. I know that we haven't had great success, but that shouldn't stop our fans from supporting the team especially when the tickets were pretty cheap $15-25. Also the fans that were there didn't really make much noise. The only time that they really made some noise was when Davidson called a timeout after we went up by 11 early on. I don't consider this a bad loss. Curry is the best player in college basketball period and his teammates aren't bad either. They are disciplined, know the system, and have good fundamentals (which is what you can expect from a good many foreign players like those on Davidson's team). This Davidson team is a top 25 team and nearly beat the No. 6 team in the nation on their home court.[Edited on December 6, 2008 at 6:05 PM. Reason : ]
