Never really got into them, I dunno why.. Seems like something I'd like.
3/29/2009 10:37:23 PM
I absolutely love all their stuff (+ATDI and omar's solo albums), but I can definitely see why other people don't get into them.
3/29/2009 11:24:16 PM
i definitely like ATDI more than The Mars Volta.that being said, i do like some MV. i'll be interested in hearing their new jams.
3/29/2009 11:31:19 PM
I am really digging the new Mastodon. Can't wait to see them in May. From what I read they are doing a big stage performance for the new album but Cats Cradle seems too small to do anything too elaborate.
3/30/2009 9:25:21 AM
I need to get that.
3/30/2009 2:09:56 PM
i just came in here to post abt mastodon. this is my first real attempt listening to them, and I'm liking this a lot.I feel like I've listened to their older shit half-assed and I hated it. Weird. I dunno. I'm gonna go check it all out.
3/31/2009 8:35:50 AM
ill have to give the new mastodon some more time. I really enjoyed some of their older stuff and wasnt really feeling the new album the first few listens.
3/31/2009 8:44:54 AM

^^ same here. i haven't heard the whole album, but i heard a number of tracks when they were doing a show on sirius a couple weeks ago. i think the different vocals are just hard for me to adjust to. maybe it will grow on me.

where are all the Great Lake Swimmers torrents!? New album went on sale this week and the only thing i can find is a sub par leaked version from last month. i dont even think my local record store would have this.

White Rabbits -- It's Frighteninghxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=HNFB0UFWI first heard these guys when they opened for Spoon and The Walkmen -- I grabbed their last album, Fort Nightly after that and loved it.I hope this one is just as good -- not my link, so I'm not 100% sure what the sound quality is like.[Edited on April 4, 2009 at 12:52 PM. In case no one saw my thread on this matter...http://elgruponuevo.com/Omar Rodriguez LopezZach Hill (Hella)Jonathan Hischke (Hella)Juan Alderete De La PenaCedric Bixler ZavalaI just found out about this. Years ago I contemplated how rad it would be if The Mars Volta did a split or something with Hella.Holy. Shit.
4/8/2009 11:29:31 PM
once again ill express my excitement for this release
4/9/2009 12:00:05 AM
its sure to be awesomemy roommate almost shit himself when i told him about ithe's had a hard-on for hella for years
4/9/2009 12:17:54 AM
new mewithoutYou song up:http://www.myspace.com/mewithoutyouhttp://www.purevolume.com/mewithoutyouDefinitely a different sound from them, by far the most mellow "single" they've ever put out but there's no doubt its mewithoutYou still. i definitely like it. I have to say again that their more aggressive side is the side I love the most (its a very unique style) so them taking the softer side for an entire album might end up slightly disappointing. But for now, I'm loving the new song.[Edited on April 9, 2009 at 2:51 PM. Reason : ]

^ Me too... were you a fan of their last one as well? (Fort Nightly)oh, and I saw this and figured CalledToArms would want it if he hadn't found it already... it may have already been posted, but I'm lazy today.Jimmy Eat World -- clarity livehxxp://depositfiles.com/en/files/q0x9qjsxt[Edited on April 10, 2009 at 2:16 PM. 4/10/2009 2:31:11 PM
^^ nice!
4/10/2009 4:55:55 PM
anyone have a link for the love language?
4/11/2009 7:42:26 AM
you could go to schoolkids and get iti wouldn't normally be a bitch, but when it's a local band i'm more inclined to say just buy it...it's damn good
4/11/2009 12:56:20 PM
4/11/2009 2:03:13 PM
^^thanks. i am aware of that option, but being that i live no where near a schoolkids (or any other independent album selling store for that matter), i would like to find it on the internet until i am able to go some where and purchase it.
4/11/2009 5:00:48 PM
4/11/2009 5:21:11 PM
^^ buy it on the internet then: http://bladencountyrecords.com/or download it for 9 bucks off the band's myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thelovelanguage
4/11/2009 9:55:11 PM
I just downloaded the new Mars Volta/Hella whateverthefuck type of collaboration they have going on, I'll give it a listen today hopefully.hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/220390977/El_Grupo_Nuevo_Omar_Rodriguez_Lopez-_Cryptomnesia-2009.zipI also like this new Conor Oberst, actually. Not always a huge fan of his, but I really enjoyed Cassadega. This new album, Outer South, has seemed pretty solid so far.
4/12/2009 10:14:03 AM
can anyone repost the john vanderslice?

Searched and didn't hear mention of The Bird and the Bee - Ray Guns Are Not the Future. Great album. Here's a single that Tim and Eric did a music video for.http://www.vimeo.com/2128833plz2embed[Edited on April 13, 2009 at 2:22 AM. Reason : embed]

The Bird and the Bee - Polite Dance Song from Eric Wareheim on Vimeo.
4/13/2009 8:38:48 AM
I love the new Bird and Bee. I think it's fucking fantastic, even if stupid sites like Pitchfork pan the hell out of it because the band members have a little 'pedigree' in the music industry.Their lyrics aren't that great, but the music/sonic qualities of the production is through the roof good. Reminds me of the Cardigans but with more flexibility. Look up 'Love letter to Japan' on youtube if you want to hear a great single of theirs from that record. It's poppy as shit but great.
4/13/2009 10:31:22 AM
^i always find myself blaring that song when it comes on satellite radio
4/13/2009 10:40:53 AM
yeah, i've driven "love letter to japan" into the ground by listening to it so much. great song but i'm not sure i can stand to listen to it anymore.
4/13/2009 10:41:49 AM
so does no one else like that dirty projectors album? it's pretty fucking good.. been listening to it non-stop
4/14/2009 2:02:37 PM
I have enjoyed what i've heard. Hasn't really reached out and grabbed me to get the whole thing though.
4/14/2009 3:00:16 PM
yeah, i guess they aren't for everyone.. but african guitar + hot girl harmonies + random shredding= win imo.anyways, here's the new Black Moth Super Rainbow http://www.mediafire.com/?qldlmgdmzgz
4/14/2009 3:53:55 PM
i have to say that the new Appleseed Cast has launched itself as my album of the year (so far). its just spectacular IMO
4/14/2009 4:34:32 PM
yea I really like it. Perhaps not AS much as I was anticipating I would but its still in my top 3 so far. However, mewithoutYou, The Mars Volta, and Between the Buried and Me all have material waiting to be released this year (plus other releases I am looking forward to) so it will probably have some tough competition at the end of the year.
4/14/2009 4:39:24 PM
I haven't listened to Sagarmatha too much but the ending to the first track is like heaven to my ears
4/14/2009 4:46:47 PM
Yea, that song is great. That and "Raise the Sails" are probably my two favorite songs on the album.
