Not making the playoffs will help us down the roadWe keep our draft pick, which will probably be 13Mock drafts have players like Tyreke Evans, Demar Derozan, Stephen Curry, James Johnson, Earl Clark and Eric Maynor going around that part of the draftAnyone one of those guys could help the teamNext year we're a 5 or 6 seed, and the pick we lose is somewhere closer to 20Yeah, missing the playoffs hurts the franchise financially and from a marketability perspectiveBut it will give us a key piece next year for a very cheap contractplus tickets will be easier to scalp

Bobcats won last night against the sixers.Felton with a career high 32 ... I think he also hit a three late to seal it. Must be feeding off the tarheel mojo.

4/8/2009 5:56:53 PM
^^Those might be the most understated-looking jerseys in the league. Dull green and black. Am I the only one who think they look kind of awesome?
4/8/2009 9:38:39 PM
yeah they're pretty dopethey don't fit the normal color scheme obviously but i like em
4/8/2009 9:49:12 PM
Those look fantastic. Those should have been the jerseys, that should have been the color scheme, and it should have been the Charlotte Flight.
4/8/2009 9:49:58 PM
this is their best alternate so far. please get rid of nascar night and rock these jerseys instead.

That's either a lion or a really badass-looking bobcat tattooed on Wallace's arm. Since I've never encountered a badass-looking bobcat, i'm going to assume it's a lion.
4/8/2009 11:21:26 PM
if by lion you mean tiger
4/8/2009 11:23:31 PM
looks like a tiger to me
4/8/2009 11:24:03 PM
female lion
4/8/2009 11:28:51 PM
Nah that's definitely a tigerYou can tell by the mutton chops[Edited on April 8, 2009 at 11:32 PM. Reason : better]
4/8/2009 11:31:18 PM
Well, i guess it's safe to say it's not a bobcat.
4/8/2009 11:33:17 PM
liger, sweet
4/8/2009 11:52:11 PM
i heard that the bobcats are getting new jerseys next year. they have not been selling jerseys on the website for about a week now.
4/9/2009 12:13:40 AM
When I was at a game a few weeks back they had a deal to get an authentic jersey valued at 180 for 40 bucks, so they're definitely trying to clear stockstill a ripoff
4/9/2009 12:18:26 AM
Hopefully they'll change the name while they're at it.

Another year where we do just good enough to probably not get a good pick.I just can't help but think if we had gotten Roy instead of Morrison where we would be.
4/14/2009 11:45:09 PM
at least they have a pick
4/14/2009 11:47:16 PM
^^It's sickening to think about. The bobcats were just a few picks away from being the best team in the NBA. -If Orlando takes Okafor instead of Dwight Howard in 2004, which they almost did. -If they make the trade for Chris Paul in 2005, which they almost did (or if they keep the pick, take Felton at 5, then took Danny Granger at 12). -If they draft Roy instead of Morrison in 2006, despite the fact Roy blew off his Bobcat workout. That would leave them with a team of:PG: Chris PaulSG: Brandon RoySF: Gerald WallacePF: Who the fuck even cares. C: Dwight Howard.
4/15/2009 12:01:30 AM
The thing is, if we had Howard and Paul, we wouldn't be in the lottery to get Roy...hell, if we had Howard we might not be in position to get Paul...but yeah, we've made some bad draft moves
4/15/2009 12:08:13 AM
Okafor was better than Howard that first year (before Howard zoomed ahead permanently)so we would have still had a high pick in the 05 draft even with Howard
4/15/2009 12:18:20 AM
We tried to go with the "draft players who had won championships in college" theory...Okafor, Felton, May...even Bernard Robsinson led Michigan to an NIT titleBut who is the last NBA player to win an NBA title that had also won a college title? Rip Hamilton? Did Allen win at UConn? Maybe the fact that there are plenty of good college players who amount to shit in the NBA should cause you to reevaluate your drafting strategy
4/15/2009 12:22:50 AM
allen was in the NBA before 1999im tryin to think of the oldest active NBA player for ^those conditions...[Edited on April 15, 2009 at 12:44 AM. Reason : adfasd]
4/15/2009 12:33:54 AM
I know Rip Hamilton won with UConn and with the Pistons, but I think its more the exception than the rule
4/15/2009 12:47:09 AM
Antoine Walker lol1996 with Kentucky and he was on the Miami Heat NBA Champion team
4/15/2009 12:50:05 AM
i remember a boston playoff game a few years back when they had pierce and walker and they won the game and the camera got too close and you could hear walker telling pierce "yeah my nigga, lets get that title my nigga"

shit i was thinking laettner won a title in miami but then i realized they were about to win the title before Wade got hurt and knocked them out. They won the next year but laettner wasnt on that team. That team can be remembered historically for having Shaq, Zo, and Laettner the #1, #2, #3 picks in that draft i guess.[Edited on April 23, 2009 at 6:54 PM. if any of the heels aside from lawson go in the lottery i'll be pretty shocked, and even he could slip to the 20's
5/20/2009 11:08:07 AM
I hate the heels as much as anyone, but they could do much worse than Ellington. They really need a 2G with some athleticism who can shoot. Ellington is a little on the small side, but I think he's going to be a good player in the NBA. Better than Henderson IMO, because he can consistently hit open shots. Now if we draft Hansbrough, I'm going to kick someone's ass.
5/20/2009 11:12:19 AM
I've been saying Gerald Henderson since March, and I'll be saying it all the way up to draft night

Can we trade the Bobcats for a MLB team?Maybe we can get an owner who wants to win now.
5/22/2009 1:13:35 AM
i hope bob's gone. hard to imagine a more inept owner.
5/22/2009 2:05:06 PM
It's going to be hard to convince people to invest in a team that utilizes a bonehead like Michael Jordan as general manager.Maybe they should IPO some stock in the team.
5/23/2009 11:22:04 AM
this team has a good upside though, they were just a few games out of the playoffs and we have a great coach. also the team was getting a lot of support towards the end of the season.
5/23/2009 11:29:59 AM
So how long is Gortat's contract with the magic?
5/24/2009 9:07:48 PM
I was wondering about that too. He is potentially a top ten center and he can't even get minutes in Orlando. They don't really need Felton though with Nelson coming back so I don't know how we'd swing him in a deal... maybe they'd take our #12 and Radmanovic since they love surrounding Howard with shooters
5/25/2009 12:56:36 PM
what not to do as an NBA owner: name your team based on your first namelet's just hope they come up with a new name if bob johnson leaves. bobcats = terrible
5/25/2009 6:39:17 PM
yeah i really hate the name
5/25/2009 6:42:05 PM
what about the Charlotte Sting?it could be a play off the hornets!
5/26/2009 4:46:43 PM
my biggest gripe is the team name! ~~~~~~
