6/29/2008 5:02:49 PM
Wow this race finally got interesting. That was a shining example of why I haate colombians.[Edited on June 29, 2008 at 5:04 PM. Reason : <3 the Toyota FanController commercial.]
6/29/2008 5:03:37 PM
so they go talk to hamlin instead of hearing from jr. about what happened to him or busch/montoya about their spat. hopefully they'll talk to them all after the break.
6/29/2008 5:18:29 PM
at least KYLE Bush didn't win again.Montoya, prepare to be fined!
6/29/2008 6:49:24 PM
mcmurray did a dickbag thing.
6/29/2008 6:50:51 PM
McMurray had anACCIDENTMontoya's going to get fined big-time.
6/29/2008 6:57:38 PM
jpm picked up some new fans last night. dont think he will get fined due to the fact waltrip did much worse earlier this year to mears and wasnt fined. he just got parked for rest of race.
6/30/2008 7:25:42 AM
I liked McMurray before just because he drove for Roush, but I have a whole new respect for him now, should have used your turn signal jr. I can't believe juan was only penalized 2 laps, that lawsuit must be making Nascar soft.
6/30/2008 8:04:59 AM
7/1/2008 10:28:51 PM
i can't believe i'm gonna have to pull for a damn hendrick car next year
7/2/2008 11:12:48 PM
great busch race. looks like steven wallace is going to get his ass beat by his own uncle. and rightfully so.
7/5/2008 10:09:35 AM
TNT's coverage is horrible compared to fox. yeah, they have little cheesy "foxisms", but at least they don't have uncomfortable dead periods, annoying 3 minute long commercial overlays, and end up missing half the major moves in the race. TNT coverage has zero insight on what is happening on the radios and in the pit. As a casual fan, I watched nearly all of every race early in the season and I find myself flipping channels midway through the race because their coverage sucks so hard.
7/5/2008 9:30:40 PM
ABC/ESPN puts them all to shame imo
7/5/2008 9:46:21 PM
If I actually wanted to here Kyle Petty talk for 4 hours I'd have a lobotomy.
7/5/2008 9:56:26 PM
if i hear bill webber say, "We're gonna take a 90 second/1 min 25 second(btw, how the fuck does that work?) local break and be right back" im gonna shoot myself. And these little mini commercials they show right during the middle of the race are stupid. wtf
7/5/2008 10:08:49 PM
8 to go. Should be a good finish. This is the only time I really like watching NASCAR.
7/5/2008 11:04:31 PM
What a mess! And that asshat took out my man! And why is JJ Yeley driving Stewart's car?Go Jeff, get it on the restart! YOU CAN DO IT!
7/5/2008 11:13:00 PM

Well at least the fans in Daytona got their money's worth. That was a pretty damn exciting final lap.
7/5/2008 11:21:09 PM
i think everyone from 6th on back hit SOMETHING on the front stretch
7/5/2008 11:24:07 PM
I almost had NASCAR overload!DIRECTV had the HotPass for free, so I was watching the channels for Burton, Jr, Gordon, and Harvick, plus the TNT coverage AND the four cameras on TNT Race Buddy on http://nascar.comThe internet coverage runs about 5 seconds ahead of DIRECTV, so I saw all the starts and wrecks there first.
7/5/2008 11:55:28 PM
i really enjoyed the "wide open coverage" on tnt. it worth having to hear klye petty(who obviously doesnt even know the rules) to get less commercials.
7/6/2008 7:38:03 AM
there's nothing exciting about some dipshits racing for about 20th position causing a wreck and not letting the race end properly.this is why we never should have stopped racing back to the yellow.
7/6/2008 11:11:46 AM
Can anyone tell me why JJ Yeley was driving Tony Stewart's car last night?
7/6/2008 4:15:08 PM
^Tony got outta the car around lap 76 i think because he was suffering from "Flu-like symptoms".Supposedly he was really sick, and it got to be just too much to handle
7/6/2008 4:19:10 PM
7/6/2008 5:49:51 PM
tnt having shitty nascar coverage is nothing newit just got worse with kyle petty though. he makes it obvious why he's a shitty driver. he doesn't have a damn clue.
7/6/2008 8:35:56 PM
Oh we back. Those were some pretty good races; I went to all 3 this weekend. I might have some photos later; I don't know...And Kyle is the man. lol@hendrick dominance...
7/7/2008 1:03:06 PM
and i'm now rocking a #18 hat.
7/7/2008 1:11:22 PM
if anyone cares i had probably the worst possible fantasy nascar week ever...i scored a miserable 152 points last week (Yahoo league)...1st place in my league last week was 325...yikes]
7/7/2008 2:11:15 PM
you need to stop fucking with that fantasy shit and go to some races.
7/7/2008 2:37:19 PM
7/7/2008 9:01:09 PM
who's out at MWR? All three driver's tend to run together during most races. Is Menard gone from DEI? Truex? Aric? All three are pretty much locked in. Ganassi won't drop below 2 teams unless he lets Montoya go, then they may fold alltogether. Petty will have 2 cars. Bobby is a lock and I don't see them letting the other team stop running. Robby is talking with investors (JV) and might have 2 cars next year. Penske will pick someone up to run the 12 if the rumors are true that Newman is gone. Haas/TS (if that goes through) will have a solid 2 cars in all of the races. RCR will have the 4th car, and JGR is looking at a 4th car. Even if we lose a car hear or there from existing teams, someone will step up and make sure they are in the race to collect the prize money. This doesn't happen in the trucks and nationwide series because the purses are so small in comparison to the cost of going to the event.
7/7/2008 9:29:57 PM
^ All of the "major" tracks will have 43 or more show up for qualifying. Some of the other tracks could potentially struggle to have a field of 40. In fact, I would hazard a guess and list Atlanta, California Speedway, and possibly Phoenix, Dover, Pocono, and Martinsville as tracks that might not have a 43 car field early in the year. (Unless NASCAR does what they did a few seasons ago and "arrange" for field fillers to show up, start the race, and get off the track.)
7/7/2008 10:05:35 PM
i dont see the logic in that.I see about 45 cars at the least starting the season and if the spot is open, someone will enter just for the prize money. I dont know if you will see under 43 anytime soon. Not if someone can just show up and get paid
7/7/2008 10:26:03 PM
pocono will have fillers, atlanta as well. anywhere within a single day drive of Charlotte will have people show up. well, Pocono might not because it's a shitty track with the gear rule. No one wants to run California, but I can see the same team trying to hit both races out west early on (keep the driver and one or two guys to "watch" the trailer and then fly a handful of crew members in on Friday) so they can get $$$ and points toward getting locked in the top 35, then sponsors will step up. The 78 is a lock for those two (as well as Phoenix) because they are in Denver and have a much shorter drive than all of the other teams, plus they have thrown the 87 in a few races as well. The team always seems to perform half-decent when they get a good motor in the car. TRB is likely to start a 3rd team toward the end of next season as well for Scott Speed. Roush is going to be "selling" a team to Yates at some point soon, and that should help with Yates keeping the cars in the field. Realistically I don't see anything under 44 showing up for any race next year, and with another batch of used chassis showing up the smaller teams will be able to race even more whereas they couldn't this year. Hell, Boris Said might just get out there and run most of the races if the numbers get to where he can make events more easily.[Edited on July 7, 2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason : ]

There were apparently a lot of empty seats up in the towers at Daytona. Definitely couldn't tell from where I was sitting.

7/9/2008 10:33:40 AM
I hear Joe Gibbs has an opening.
7/9/2008 3:23:02 PM
Where'd you hear that? From the fucking article I just posted maybe?
7/9/2008 4:26:50 PM
Has anyone noticed that ESPN would rather plug NASCAR than an endless array of baseball this summer? Maybe the fact that they are televising races has something to do with this, but I really think that the amount of coverage, the number of articles I've found/read, etc. on NASCAR has been a lot more then even in the last 2 or 3 years. Pretty awesome methinks!
7/11/2008 12:21:45 AM
^^or maybe the fact that the biggest news outta NASCAR lately has been that Tony Stewart is leaving Joe Gibbs???? I mean, MAYBE thats where he got it......................

for people in Yahoo fantasy leagues:wtf? no bonuses this week for qualifying? i have the top 3 qualifiers this week, i should get 18 points (10 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd)
7/11/2008 4:30:27 PM
uh, they didn't qualify?
7/11/2008 4:37:54 PM
was the whole thing rained out? i might be looking at the spots from last week haha
7/11/2008 6:00:31 PM
yeah, the whole thing was rained out. The whole sky over turn 3-4 was damn near black. It was one of the most wicked thunder storm clouds I had ever seen. Nascar waited til about 5 minutes before the bottom fell out to tell us to push the cars back to the garages. The sky fell as I was walking to my car...it was fun.
