I mean I don't think the #24 ranked PF should get 4*'s also I haven't been all that impressed with him.
4/13/2008 9:29:42 PM
people say he's not slow and goofy, but his tape makes him look very much so.
4/13/2008 10:13:34 PM
He looks like the typical Notre Dame big goofy white boy

I read a few interesting updates on John Wall that, if true, means we have literally NO chance at him and it's a foregone conclusion he's headed to Memphis. I read it on a few scout boards (kansas and state for example).Google "worldwide wes"[Edited on April 14, 2008 at 4:00 PM. Reason : it's pretty telling, at least to me, that oregon and memphis are on his list..]

We are in it for 5* C DaShonte Riley. Scout lists him as the #5 ranked center and Rivals has him as the #2 ranked center and #13 in their overall Top 100 in the 2009 class. I believe he goes to the same school that Clayton Beard went to. Apparently we are in his Top 5.http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=3045712http://ncstate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=54691&sport=2DaShonte RileyCenterBirmingham (MI) Country DayAAU: The FamilyHt: 6-foot-10Wt: 217 lbsSchools Interested (known offers in italics)Boston CollegeIndiana Florida GeorgetownMichiganMichigan StateMinnesotaOhio StateUCLAUSCNC State (I guess we have offered but Scout doesn't list us, while Rivals does)KentuckyKansas StateKansasMemphis (god damn Memphis recruiting the same players as us ! )

I wonder if we have any interest in Dougie Wiggins, who is transferring from UConn. He hasn't mentioned any lists but did hint a few ACC schools are interested in him. He'd be a perfect fit here basketball wise IMO, though he does have some baggage (underage drinking ticket at UConn and was told to not report to a few practices over this summer). He's a really quick point who plays under control and can knock down shots. He'd be an instant upgrade over any 1 we have on the roster right now and has high major experience.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 1:25 AM. Reason : x]

^ though he does have some baggage (underage drinking ticket at UConn and was told to not report to a few practices over this summer).Lets not kid ourselves, he's not the only college kid drinking underage. that doesn't mean shit. UConn had to do something about it so they told him not to report. there are no character issues with this guy. Underage drinking is part of college, everyone does it, he was just unlucky to get caught, i know plenty of people in his situation. most just aren't D1 athletes

damn, Tydreke Evans and John Wall on the same team? I doubt that they'll play together though, since Evans is likely one-and-done.

ive heard some say that UMD has a good shot of getting Evans but its just rumor stuff

^He is a guy that has 100's of connections in NCAA and NBA hoops. He doesn't really work for anyone but he is omnipresent at any hoops event. He has connections with HS players, NCAA players and coaches, and of course the NBA. There are a couple of stories written about him but he does all of his interviews off the recordFor the record, Tyree Evans has been arrested for stuff like statutory rape, assault of a child, and multiple underage drinking citations.Tyreke Evans left his aunt's house with his cousins in a Expedition he was driving. As they were pulling away, his cousin capped some dude and killed him- Tyreke drove off but cooperated with police later and wasn't charged. He drove off because supposedly the dude his cousin capped pulled first.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 2:11 PM. Reason : WWW]

tyree evans was oriiginally in the 2004 class recruited by bob huggins at cincy. after all his issues and huggins' move to k-state, evans wanted to follow him there but k-state didn't want him. HUGGINS, of all people, thought he was too much of a thug. all you need to know.

So The Wolfpacker site has a story about 2010 point guard Phil Taylor being interested in us. Taylor has visited Raleigh twice in the last four months and it says he watches State any chance he gets. Taylor is a former New York City native, but now resides in Marietta, Georgia, and attends the same high school that JJ Hickson attended, Wheeler High. Taylor also plays on the AAU team World Wide Renegades, which Hickson also played on. Taylor is 5'9" and 160 lbs. Since he's only a sophmore I'd expect him to grow some more like most guys do.Combining the Rivals and Scout profiles, here are the schools listed as showing interest.ClemsonFlorida StateMichigan StateNC StateGeorgiaGeorgia TechAuburnXavierhttp://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=3320587http://ncstate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=63124&sport=2

Can anyone with premium for Rivals tell us what Lorenzo Brown had to say in that article on the front page of TWP.
5/2/2008 8:36:36 PM
From PPGuys and Gals, Lorenzo Brown is callin for us.."It would be pretty wild if NC State fans came to see my games [at Gibbons], and that would definitely impress me," Brown said. "Coach Lowe was telling me about Glaxo [on Wednesday], and how Word of God is the defending champs. That would be fun to play them."He's comin down with his AAU team to the Gibbons Tourny May 24th-26th. Lets show em what we are about

We need to rock the place.Lo Brown, John Wall, CJ LeslieThese people are the future of our basketball team. Show some support!!!!

5/3/2008 3:00:42 PM
^^ i will be surprised if any of them play for nc state.
5/3/2008 3:08:38 PM
Leslie already gave a verbal, but that can change. I think he'll be here.Brown is a better bet than Wall IMO. Frankly, after what I've read of Wall I really don't want him. Kid was kicked off of the Broughton team, has an entourage and is involved with Worldwide Wes.No thanks...[Edited on May 3, 2008 at 3:46 PM. Reason : x]
5/3/2008 3:45:59 PM
oh i'm well aware that leslie verballed, but i don't think he's going to keep it. not unless we show some real improvement.he's doing nothing but getting his act together and getting better at basketball, and schools are going to come after him until the day he signs.
5/3/2008 4:28:59 PM
^oh i know everything, i'm a faggot.
5/3/2008 4:42:05 PM
^ oh rly?]
5/3/2008 4:43:41 PM
whoa, save the chit chat for chit chat. the least we can do for all of them is show up and act like we care about our basketball program. i'd be a shame if they played in Raleigh, of all places, and had no support from the school that arguably wants and needs them the most.
5/3/2008 4:56:23 PM
Especially since it will be at Cardinal Gibbons, which is just a hop, skip, and jump away from the RBC Center.
5/3/2008 5:01:44 PM
How about some ideas for signs.WALL AND BROWNNC STATE 2009BEST BACKCOURTIN AMERICA

i'd say give the attention soley to brown. besides, if you only sell him on playing w/ wall he'll end up at memphis.

prolly get a recruiting violation out of it somehow
