dude looks like a beast
5/24/2008 7:14:16 PM
So since Mike Glennon's high school number is currently taken by Daniel Evans, what do you think it should be come fall?Let's say that his number should fall between 1-191&2 - possible but I don't really like these for QBs3 - Taken by Underwood4 - possible5 - Jarvis Williams6 - possible but I don't like this number because it reminds me of all the "pick 6"s we've had lately7 - stated above8 - possible9 - possible10 - Burke11 - possible12 - Beck13 - Owen Spencer14 - possible15 - Darrell Davis16 - Wilson17 - Obviously No18 - possible19 - possibleSo out of these we have: 1,2,4,6,8,9,11,14,18,19I personally like 9 and 4 as a back up
5/24/2008 11:18:47 PM
I've always like #11 on a QB. There have been a lot of good QBs wear that number. Matt Leinart being the most recent (well in college, he wears #7 for the Cardinals).
5/24/2008 11:42:34 PM
what #'s were jay davis and stone (when he was qb)?let's rule those out
5/24/2008 11:47:00 PM
I wanna say Stone was 9 and Davis was 10. I'd rep 2, 11, or 14 probably
5/25/2008 12:06:16 AM
Jay Davis was 10 and Stone was 9. Remember how we had the whole conversation on here that Stone and Mario Williams couldn't be on the field at the same time, just in case we wanted to run that special play they ran in one of the spring games where Mario lined up at WR during a goal line situation.
5/25/2008 12:44:00 AM
^ you're gonna scare people with pictures like that in this threadOH GOD THERE ARE 10 DAYS LEFT AND JAY DAVIS IS GONNA BE THE QUARTERBACK
5/25/2008 2:48:06 AM
I forgot Stone was 9. He was one of the team's best leaders and played a mean tight end.So if I forfeit 9, I'll bet 4 as the front runner and 8 as the back up. For some reason I'm not feeling the double digits.

HAR HAR MY SISTER THINKS WE ARE GOING TO LOSE HAR HAR
5/25/2008 11:46:18 AM

Our defensive depth chart should be interesting come fall, lost a lot of players, gained a lot of Juco transfer types, and maybe a freshman or two will see the field.

Haha you mean we didn't retire #4 for Jamie Barnette? Funny thing is we would kill for a Barnette right now...
5/27/2008 12:23:11 AM
I saw Bethlehem, PA and started wondering what happened to Kyle Newell. After some quick googling, the last news article was a premium article on gatorbait from Aug 7th, 2007 that talked about "Walk-on Kyle Newell saw some action with the second team offense at left tackle". Anyone know what happened to this guy?
5/27/2008 1:57:35 AM
im pretty sure he had a bad case of Home sickness. Quite the highly recruited guy who wanted to play WR i think even though he was the #11 DE coming outta HS. I think Chuck tried him at WR and then soon after he left

Ricky's back at school today. He had a concussion and bit his lip which led to the blood in his mouth. He should be fine.http://www.greensborosports.com/2008/05/27/ricky-dowdy-back-at-high-point-central-today/

That's some good news to hear that it was nothing too serious. I hope he rests up a lot over the next few days.
5/27/2008 10:36:17 PM
Way too much Carolina Blue in that one section. The one in the lower level next to the thinner section.I like how you can tell that the student section has more red in it.What is our left tackle doing on the ground? Who is that? Also why is the left guard not blocking anyone? I thought TOB and Coach Horton were coaching these guys better than that. At least Meares Green has got a great block on his man over there to the right. Evans I really hope that you are dumping it over the middle to an open Anthony Hill and not throwing it into double coverage to the WR on the left. [Edited on May 27, 2008 at 10:52 PM. Reason : ]

no more ATL Falcon trash
5/28/2008 7:26:46 AM
^^^im pretty sure thats a TE on the ground in that picture. If you look, there are 5 linemen up blocking. Also....that left tackle spot is Julian Williams' which would be the big black guy blocking no one

I hope we get to see Eric Weaver (#90) on the playing field more this season. During the off-season he's bulked up to be a beast, and I think he would be a great target for either Glennon, Evans, or whichever QB is starting...I mean at 6'7" who the hell is going to keep him from catching the ball? Seriously!! Go Pack!!

Well guys I'll be gone till late Thursday, maybe even early morning Friday. I'm going on vacation down to the beach. I expect you all to carry on this thread and the recruiting threads while I'm away. Watch us get a commitment and I end up being the last to know. I expect a lot of things for me to read when I get back.

5/31/2008 10:46:56 PM
Yeah although we lose Marcus Stone, who was definitely huge for us last year, I think we gain more with Anthony Hill coming back. Hill is a natural TE, has great hands and size, and plenty of experience. I expect Hill to be an All-ACC selection this year provided our QB, whoever that may be, can get him the ball.
