VINNY T FTWbtw, i used to be a fan of adam gold, but after this:

vinny kicked ass today, all the critics can suck it
10/14/2007 8:07:51 PM
So even when Carr is healthy, do we go with Vinny? I say fuck yeah.He seems to know how to manage the game much better. He also seems to have the "it" factor that Carr lacks (and will probably never have). Give Vinny a week to get his timing down, and to get more acquainted with the playbook, and he could be pretty decent.
10/14/2007 8:42:54 PM
I can't believe this team is 4-2.

10/14/2007 9:06:03 PM
ZERO interceptions on 33 attempts, he sure isn't stupid with the ball at least
10/14/2007 9:06:27 PM
Carr is a perennial loser. Having him on our football team all but guarantees failure. At least Vinny has some winning in his past, so I say go with him (until Dwight Freeney kills him).
10/14/2007 9:29:36 PM
I managed to avoid anyone ruining the surprise cause I DVRed teh Panthers game since I was out of town for me to watch when i got back. Unfortunately it quit recording 5 min left in the 4th quarter :-(at least i got to see teh Steve Smith bomb for the TD
10/14/2007 11:55:10 PM
he got away with like 2 interceptions at least
10/15/2007 3:38:16 AM
does anybody else really dislike carr a little more everytime they see him on tv? He looks like a self-over inflated pretty boy. No reason not to stick w/ Vinny in 2 weeks against Indy. Vinny Testeverde vs. Peyton Manning - may as well be Elway vs. Montana
10/15/2007 8:33:17 AM
LOL, I bet the people wanting Vinny to start the rest of the year are the same ones who wanted Carr to start over Delhomme even after an 8 TD 1 INT start.
10/15/2007 9:09:36 AM
i like carr. that one run he made on 3rd down against tampa where he flipped in the air for the first down showed me that he isnt all the pretty-boy that he looks to be. He is a decent qb who looks to be willing to do everything he can to win.that said, i love the testaverde effect
10/15/2007 9:26:43 AM
aside from that flashy run against Tampa, he did zero against them...155 yards on less than 50% completion ratio...1 INT and 1 garbage meaningless TD at the very end...he's scared...I wish Vinny could play the whole year until Jake gets back next seasonhoweverif Carr is healthy in 2 weeks you have to start him...but also you have to be willing to put in Vinny if Carr is shitting it up]
10/15/2007 9:51:23 AM
I wouldnt put Carr back in infront of Vinnie. Not until Vinnie has a bad game, Carr can't throw worth a shit and we've constantly seen it.Look, I know Vinnie is old but at the end of the day - he makes better decisions, dosent seem to turn the ball over easy, and throws accurate. Why the fuck would you look a gift horse in the mouth like that considering how bad the situation is?
10/15/2007 12:24:01 PM
cause Vinny isn't the QB of the futurewe paid Carr money to come in and backup Jake...Jake is out...how much do we fuck with Carr's head if we start Vinny versus Indy if Carr is healthy? I think you start Carr, but if he fucks up you pull his ass
10/15/2007 12:36:05 PM
10/15/2007 1:01:54 PM
except for the fact that he was with davidson in NE last season and is familiar with the offensefoxy said he already knew around 60-70%

hmmm who won the game yesterday and who did jack shit
10/15/2007 1:12:17 PM
Well, on second look, in 2 games against the Colts last year Carr had 4 TDs and 0 interceptions. Maybe we should give him a shot.....
10/15/2007 1:13:02 PM
^ sounds just like the idea that US women's soccer coach had against Brazil... that didnt work out too well.hopefully vinny can teach carr some pocket presence while he's there
10/15/2007 1:17:19 PM
^Hah, good point.

my vote is to go w/ vinny. i have been saying since i went to training camp that carr should not see the field.
10/15/2007 2:10:39 PM
^ I agree. Carr is like having Rex Grossman lite behind center.[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 2:41 PM. Reason : Vinny T FTW]

i think the only way we win against the colts is with vinny t our D-line finding a way to pound Peyton[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 2:45 PM. Reason : also Vinny, though]

I just noticed my already, already redundancy But until proven otherwise, I'm pretty sure Vinny T isn't a long term solution for any team at this point. What bandwagon are y'all going to jump on if he comes out and throws 4 ints against Indy?...direct snap to smitty or DeA every play?Imo (and probably what foxy will do), its Carr until he proves he can't do it.[Edited on October 15, 2007 at 3:09 PM. Reason : .]
10/15/2007 3:03:29 PM
^And Carr prooved he could do it with his one start? Cards and Bucs had the same record, w/ the Cards having played the harder IMO. I say stick w/ Vinny until he proves he can't do it.
10/15/2007 3:35:02 PM
^Vinny also got an actual effort from the D. like I said earlier, when your D gets you 5 turnovers, it's hard for anyone you put behind center to lose....vinny didn't so much win that game, as Rattay lost it.
10/15/2007 4:03:10 PM
10/15/2007 4:26:49 PM
^^ I'd play harder for Vinny than Carr any day. I do agree with your comment though. Whoever is behind center I'll be pulling for them either way - I'd just stick w/ Vinny if it was me. He played well enough for us to win in 4 days prep, and now he gets 2 weeks to solidify what he knows, learn new plays, finally learn everybody's name, etc...
10/15/2007 4:47:05 PM
^^lol^yeah, don't get me wrong, l'll be thrilled if we win games. whoever is behind C.I'm listening to a guy on packman trying to compare Vinny to Brady now
10/15/2007 4:51:07 PM
well they were both on the patriots roster last year, right? thats something

I have a really GREAT feeling about the Colts game...They will be looking forward to the showdown with the Pats and we will shock them and win.So let it be written, so let it be done.
10/16/2007 9:38:17 PM
The Colts are gonna destroy the Panthers.Don't kid yourself.
10/16/2007 10:06:32 PM
10/17/2007 12:20:00 AM
the main thing we got going for us in the colts game is we get an extra week to prepare, and they have a short week before our game.
10/17/2007 8:48:09 AM
i'm not getting my hopes up for the colts game. we are 4-2; the teams we have beat having a combined record of 5-18.unless your team is one of those bottom feeders, they should be winning those games. there are a lot of bright spots however w/ young players that were not playing as well at the beginning of the season that are starting to look better now. i'm glad we faced those horrid teams at the beginning of the season. i'm just hoping we can find at least 5 more wins somewhere to at least give us a chance at the play-offs. i think 9-7 would get us in with a lot of mediocrity in the nfc this year.
10/17/2007 12:19:11 PM
plus vinny t has twice as much time to read the playbook than he did for the first game
10/17/2007 12:19:21 PM
smitty is about to be on the jim rome show
