I am hoping the panthers pick up MLB Siler, OLB Shaw. I'd even take a chance on Abbate, I like his motor and he would be cheap depth. Josh Gattis is definitly the best S remaining. I assume Chris Leak won't last till the 6th but if he did, I'd love to see the panther pick him up
4/29/2007 8:57:34 AM
the 2nd day is devoted to safety and return man.
4/29/2007 9:19:21 AM
you know, almost every fucking player in the draft has been described as 'has a great motor'. That shit is becoming a tad cliche. And what does it really mean...just some intangible way of saying the kid is playing football.
4/29/2007 10:17:59 AM
Can somebody post the kipers' draft grades.
4/29/2007 10:37:22 AM
what I mean is Abbate doesn't take plays off or give up on plays there are plenty players on the board that do. You won't hear Dwayne Jarrett or a few other guys having a good motor
4/29/2007 10:53:31 AM
AJ Davis to the Lions at pick 105
4/29/2007 11:27:04 AM
damn it, Tanard Jackson got picked. I was hoping the panthers would draft him. Oh well, I guess it's Grattis now.
4/29/2007 11:55:54 AM
Aundrae Allison is still available. Can he return kicks?
4/29/2007 11:57:43 AM
LEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYHARRIS
4/29/2007 12:02:38 PM
my titans just took leroy harris with the 115 pick
4/29/2007 12:02:53 PM
another wide receiver?[Edited on April 29, 2007 at 12:08 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2007 12:08:29 PM
more like a kick returner.
4/29/2007 12:09:18 PM
a 2nd coming of steve smith?
4/29/2007 12:10:09 PM
good point. dont know him, so the thought didnt occur to me...hopefully he's a quick, wily one.
4/29/2007 12:10:53 PM
not alot of people know about steve smith when he was drafted either.
4/29/2007 12:12:31 PM
somebody please post Ryne Robinson's profile.
4/29/2007 12:14:07 PM
AJ Davis going this high is good, but a bit of a surprise. One of the sites I saw had him listed as a mid 6th rounder, but I figured with his speed alone he'd be at worst a 5th rounder. And Tennessee must be coming around on the NC State players, Leroy joining Tulloch. Plus that means our 3 players expected to be drafted went ahead of the only UNC player expected to be drafted, haha.[Edited on April 29, 2007 at 12:16 PM. Reason : .]
4/29/2007 12:14:30 PM
4/29/2007 12:16:30 PM
excellent. one of the top 2 or 3 return men in the draft. a bit earlier than i was hopin to see this need addressed, but it looks like we got a good one.
4/29/2007 12:19:10 PM
sounds like steve smith when he's coming out of college. Here's hoping for another steve smith.
4/29/2007 12:24:05 PM
any other pack players expecting to get their name called today?
4/29/2007 12:32:16 PM
what did mel kiper say about philip rivers there?
4/29/2007 12:48:06 PM
lamart barrett, garland heath, and james newby still have a shot at being drafted imo. pat lowery probably should be drafted too, but i doubt he will be.
4/29/2007 1:13:02 PM
wtf jacksonville has been on the clock at 149 for like 10 minutesAND they have 150[Edited on April 29, 2007 at 1:34 PM. Reason : ]
4/29/2007 1:34:05 PM
dammit so much for Gattis
4/29/2007 1:35:01 PM
4/29/2007 1:51:41 PM
I'm really getting tired of that Reggie Bush commercial for Madden 08.
4/29/2007 1:52:10 PM
wow the QB for Coastal Carolina just got drafted in the 7ththats interesting
4/29/2007 4:33:19 PM
whats the deal with Brandon Siler from Florida? He was graded out pretty high by most places and everywhere I looked, they expected him to be gone by 3rd at the latest. I would like to pick him up as hopefully a steal but we really need a Safety unless we are trying to move Davis back to Safety
4/29/2007 4:49:00 PM
are any of you following the draft on espn's draft tracker and voting in poles every now and then when they come up? it seems like every single pole is 50-50 or 48-52 not one so far has been lopsided.
4/29/2007 4:51:14 PM
im not voting but everyone i have seen is like 50 50 or 33 33 33
4/29/2007 4:53:50 PM
i hadnt been following the draft much now, but siler was a bit injurred at the end of the season (knee i think). maybe that has something to do with it. i dunno though.
4/29/2007 4:58:41 PM
i haven't voted either, but i too have noticed every poll is evenly split.
4/29/2007 4:59:48 PM
Anthony Gonzalez is going to be a beast with Indy
4/29/2007 6:17:09 PM
Siler can see the field in San Diego, good pick up
4/29/2007 6:20:29 PM
agreed(with both ^, ^^).. his speed in the Slot is going to kill teams...... Houston should have grabbed Michael Bush when they could. He will end up being the 2nd best back in this draft IMO[Edited on April 29, 2007 at 6:22 PM. Reason : s]
4/29/2007 6:21:48 PM
that oak backfield looking nice
4/29/2007 7:03:47 PM
^it still doesn't mean anything. Did you see their OL last year?
4/29/2007 7:13:57 PM
it seems to me that if i was a GM, i wouldn't place nearly as much weight on an injury as i might have 10 years ago. rehab programs and surgical procedures have become so precise and refined that there are very few "career ending" injuries anymore. i think michael bush will be an example of that
4/29/2007 7:19:50 PM
Chris Leak, National champion.... Undrafted....
4/29/2007 8:35:53 PM
Chris Leak...too short to play behind the 6'6" centers and guards in the NFL
4/29/2007 8:40:46 PM
tell that to drew brees, and leak is more accurate than he is
4/29/2007 8:42:58 PM
^i've been saying that all weekend, is the 1/2 an inch that big of a difference? Well if he is undrafted maybe he'll try out for the home town team
4/29/2007 8:46:27 PM
he could be a good backup (3rd string) to Delhomme/Carr
4/29/2007 8:57:38 PM
Leak just agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears, was on bottom line of ESPN per Michael Smith.
4/29/2007 9:04:14 PM
I bet the Panthers gonna carry 2 QBs this year again.
4/29/2007 9:05:17 PM
i'm not a cards fan although i do follow adrian wilson (and now terrence holt) but i really think they put together a great draft:1 5 Brown, Levi OT 6-4 328 Penn State 2 33 Branch, Alan DT 6-6 331 Michigan 3 69 Davis, Buster ILB 5-10 244 Florida State 5 142 Breaston, Steve WR 6-0 178 Michigan 7 215 Patrick, Ben TE 6-4 270 Delaware
4/29/2007 9:14:09 PM
I'm kind of surprised Abbate didn't get drafted.
4/29/2007 9:16:37 PM
he left a year early too didn't he?
4/29/2007 9:17:18 PM
Yep.Not looking like a good decision at this point.
