I think hes pretty good myself
7/12/2007 10:33:18 PM
he's decent. hopefully he'll improve though. Actually, I'm sure he will.
7/12/2007 10:36:09 PM
he's fast as hell and you can't teach that
7/13/2007 12:05:59 AM
what about his motor and his wingspan?[/bilas]

7/13/2007 1:55:49 PM
I think what rally meant with the "50/50" is that Felton shows flashes of brilliance and then will put up a a string of 3/17, 4/19, 5/20 games. He needs to show more consistency, whether that be with his shot selection or whatever... we need Felton to be be more a scorer in addition to his distributing abilities.here is his player profile:http://www.nba.com/playerfile/raymond_felton/game_by_game_stats.htmlCheck it out. While he does a good job of getting his assists, his FG% is fucking awful for the most part. The most important thing is winning, obviously, and the franchise has progressed since Felton got here, but he definitely has a lot of room for improvement.
7/13/2007 2:20:08 PM
7/13/2007 2:52:05 PM
Without significant improvement, I really don't want Felton taking a lot of jump shots.
7/13/2007 3:10:14 PM
the first thing that jumps out at me is Felton isnt a dumb player so he knows he doesnt have to jack up shots all the timeand now with a goto guy (hopefully) and Carroll finding his way he can be that pass first guy and lead us on the break
7/13/2007 3:18:42 PM
^^^there is a difference between being a scorer (taking and making good shots that are within your ability) and just jacking up bullshit (basically a turnover 9 times outta 10)
7/13/2007 4:07:34 PM
For the record I like Felton and believe he can become a good NBA PG but he's simply not there yet.The first half of his rookie season he did pretty much nothing, then the 2nd half of the season he played very well.Naturally, people were expecting big things this season and when they didn't happen people were a bit concerned. His shooting percentage is atrocious. He hasn't demonstrated an ability to finish around the basket (like Parker, Nash, Baron, Paul, etc). He's struggled to get his assist numbers up high enough and control his turnovers.I think part of this can be attributed to how often he had to play out of position at SG and defer to Brevin Knight. Now Knight is gone, so no more excuses. He's eligibile for an extenstion after next season so if he wants the $$$ he's going to have to improve immensely before next season.Otherwise he's not worth much more than the MLE.

7/13/2007 6:12:23 PM
No he really hasn't. Felton has an unbelievable ability to get to the basket, and an equally unbelievable ability to miss once he's there. Half of Okafor's baskets last year came from cleaning up an errant Felton layup. He didn't have this problem in college, and he's pretty solid as far as his build goes, so who the hell knows why he's missing around the basket so frequently. If he can fix that problem, he'll average 5 more PPG easily.[Edited on July 13, 2007 at 6:34 PM. Reason : ]
7/13/2007 6:34:11 PM
somebody find some points in the paint FG% stats cause i think yall are mistaken
7/13/2007 6:42:09 PM
Plain and simple people were expecting his numbers to improve between year 1 and 2 and instead they regressed. He shot a worse FG%, his points, rebounds, AND assist rates were down across the board (per 40 minutes) while his turnover rate was higher. His 13.55 per was pretty ugly and would rank him as the 34th best PG in the NBA. That's not what you're looking for with the #5 overall pick.
7/13/2007 6:49:39 PM
Yeah I remember pre-draft projections having Deron Williams drop to the Bobcats at #5. ...damn, what might have been.
7/13/2007 7:20:28 PM
at least we didnt trade both picks to move up and get marvin williams
7/13/2007 7:55:57 PM
we lost Jake Voskuhl to the Bucks (1 year - $3 million). Not that there's anything wrong with that.Seriously...what the fuck are we going to do at Center? Are Hollins and Davidson ready to start and play big minutes?[Edited on July 19, 2007 at 10:34 AM. Reason : .,.,]
7/19/2007 10:33:47 AM
^Maybe not, but neither was Voskuhl.

ESPN's John Hollinger named the Bobcats #2 on the NBA's offseason winners behind the Rockets.

I think we're fine at center....play Okafor at the 5. We need another player at the 4.
7/19/2007 5:17:40 PM
looks like we almost agreed to a sign and trade that would have gotten us Richard Jefferson from the Nets.. I think this deal would look much more attractive to the Bobcats had they not dealt for Richardson but I'm glad things worked out the way they did. The Nets' summer makeover came close to being far more drastic.According to multiple league sources, the Nets were "very close" to completing a three-team trade that would have landed Lamar Odom from the Lakers while sending Richard Jefferson to the Bobcats. The Lakers, in turn, would have received Gerald Wallace from Charlotte.
7/20/2007 11:51:37 AM
we didn't want any part of a trade that saw us lose G-ForceFuck Richard Jefferson, the Nets can keep him.
7/20/2007 2:15:49 PM
I would have pissed in my pants if we'd done that deal.Jefferson's body is breaking down on him. He makes no impact on defense (he cant get steals or blocks). He's an average outside shooter and he really depends a lot on Jason Kidd to put him in scoring opportunities. Not to mention he has a HORRIBLE contract. Why the fuck would we do that deal when he's half the player Wallace is...?
7/21/2007 1:24:31 PM

anybody know any details on the Bobcats games Donaghy officiated? I heard on the radio that out of the 7 games (maybe last year, maybe the last 2) the Bobcats went 2-5 but they didn't give any more details
7/24/2007 2:55:36 PM
either way, that guys a scum bag pile of shit and needs to be dealt with as such
7/24/2007 3:01:37 PM
well i really hate the Celtics. But then they go and add two of my favorite players in Ray Allen and KG (who ive wanted to see traded for years)no i wouldnt mind seeing them win, as long as its not against the BOBCATS!!
7/31/2007 11:21:35 PM
The Celtics have way too many retired numbers, 21 or so IIRC.
8/1/2007 12:29:53 AM
schedule's outone national game, December 19 vs Utah on ESPNAlso we make a one game road trip out to Phoenix on November 6, sandwiched between two home games including one the next night....that seems inefficient as fuck.
8/2/2007 1:27:24 PM
^disregard that post, the schedule was glitched when I initially looked at it.But if this is gonna be the year we get to the playoffs, we better not wait until the end of the year to get hot, since 14 of our last 20 are on the road.

Indeed. The blue jerseys look awesome while the orange ones start to burn the retinas after a while. I've only been to one bobcats game, so I'm not too familiar with the court. What exactly does this "less cluttered" look involve?
9/18/2007 2:44:54 PM
dunno...i would guess maybe removing the logos in the lane in favor of a solid orange box...things of that nature...probably nothing too drastic
