Hill isn't out.
7/25/2007 5:02:03 PM
^lol, hill IS out....check again
7/25/2007 5:02:58 PM
damnit.
7/25/2007 5:19:06 PM
i'm pretty sure that hurts with Allen..........Allen wants immediate PT and he's not going to get that with Hill there next year. I would be shocked if UNC didnt get Allen. If we win on the field however and UNC bombs i think we can steal him though.
7/25/2007 6:54:47 PM
I've heard Manning to Clemson as well.
7/26/2007 12:54:58 PM
Manning to decide next week:http://wral.com/sports/blogpost/1634541/Now it's down to From the article, sounds like he's showing VT a LOT more interest than previously.

didn't know if this had been posted anywhere but it is a free video of highlights of the elite 11 qb camp that our commit mike glennon got invited to and participated in; some high praise; free video from rivals.comhttp://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/video.asp?section=fbrecruit&vidtype=amp&vidid=2714
7/27/2007 12:08:56 PM
^ Saw part of some UNC drills the other day. Take it FWIW but Paulus threw a pretty horrible pick. Granted it was just one series but he didn't look good in the "one-on-one" WR/CB drills.

more on Glennon: ESPN's rating and evaluation:
7/27/2007 12:48:55 PM
Feel good about Manning...especially if he doesnt go to UT this weekend. But i felt good about whitley too, so thats all im gonna say.Glennon is a Top 5 QB in the nation....no matter what Scout.com says
7/27/2007 1:09:49 PM
even higher praise for brandon barnes on espn.com:#4 ranked "athlete" and #23 overall on espn150:
7/27/2007 1:20:49 PM
man we need Manning bad...............if we got one player this year i hope we get himnews floating around suggests he will commit next week and that state "probably" is his leader right now (we all know how the whitley thing turned out though)i have a feeling though that if Manning commits here and we get a few more in-state prospects and we get whitley to a few football games then we maybe able to steal one away from VT. Whitley is an impressionable guy and if he wanted to go to state all along and switched b/c of a one day visit then whos to say it wont happen again.
7/27/2007 1:57:22 PM
^^ Barnes sounds similar to Blackmon in that article.
7/27/2007 2:05:50 PM
it's BLACKMANWITH A FUCKING "A"it is unreal how many people spell that wrong.
7/27/2007 2:10:44 PM
^ he may be talking about Will Blackmon from VT... It should be clarified [Edited on July 27, 2007 at 2:15 PM. Reason : .]
7/27/2007 2:15:04 PM
^lol, motherfuck, thats 2 things in a row ppl have fucked up onWill BlackmOn went to BC...thus the comparison to BlackmOn b/c BlackmOn played for TOB
7/27/2007 3:56:45 PM
i'd bet anything he meant to say it sounded like darrell blackman.
7/27/2007 4:01:56 PM
^^ Yeah i meant BC don't know why I put VT..good lookin out though...
7/27/2007 4:13:32 PM
We need LBs bad. Manning could come here and compete immediately for PT.
7/27/2007 4:24:35 PM
No doubt, considering over the next couple of years we'll be transitioning to more 3-4 sets.
7/27/2007 5:31:14 PM
anyone know if manning visited UT this weekend
7/27/2007 10:54:59 PM
7/28/2007 8:41:19 AM
^^i dont think Manning visited UT this weekend although i am not 100% sure. We'll prolly find out tonight..........should make an announcement this week though
7/29/2007 3:44:28 PM
Manning Press Conference set for Friday at 1:00 - per Packpride & Rivals.I still havn't seen whether or not he visited UT or not. He did say that his decision was coming down to state, clemson, and vt though, so I doubt it.
7/30/2007 3:17:07 PM
it always amuses me how the exact same things are posted within minutes of each other on both forums. packpride beat TWW to the Manning story. TWW beat packpride to the Walsh story.
7/30/2007 3:20:11 PM
just incase yall havent heard there is an interesting quote from an article on T. Manning when asked a/b what his favorite animal is TM replied "o it definatly has to be a tiger" or something to that degree. Its an interesting comment anyways and i think its just to add more fuel for the presser. TM has wanted to keep his decision silent so he could announce it at the PC on friday so i highly doubt he would announce his decision 4 days before his PC.If anything i belive that quote means he wont pick Clemson
7/31/2007 12:20:06 AM
yeah everyone on the clemson boards seem to think he picks us
7/31/2007 2:17:46 PM
us as in NCSU? or us as in Clemson?
7/31/2007 2:52:59 PM
^^yeah, but all the VT boards thought Whitley was a lock for us too... It's all a guessing game until Friday.
7/31/2007 3:05:40 PM
The question was also, between a wolf, a tiger, and a hokie what is your favorite animal.weird question and I agree I don't think TM would have done anything to spoil his PC, especially this soon. I wouldn't read anything into the question or his answer.
7/31/2007 3:33:06 PM
it looks as if maddox is going to be able to graduate in december according to his transcripts...

Article from FayObserver, author thinks it's the Pack for Manning. Take it with a grain of salt though, I mean he just seems to be stating his opinion based on the info everybody already has.http://www.fayobserver.com/article?id=268757

Ex-QB ready for new jobO'Brien calls TE 'the most selfless person on the football team right now'Chip Alexander, Staff WriterRALEIGH - N.C. State's Marcus Stone spends some of his free time outside football customizing cars, installing sound systems. The Wolfpack's senior tight end calls it a hidden talent. "When I was little, I was into stereo systems," Stone said. "I started messing around, trial and error, learning it that way." Recently, Stone finished a system for Pack teammate Bradley Pierson, a senior place-kicker. Stone said the setup in Pierson's truck is much like the one in his own Expedition, with 13-inch speakers and enough amps to, well, rattle the windows. "It's pretty loud," Stone said, smiling. Stone is working on another project -- building his football career. Pack upperclassmen report today for practice -- the start of Stone's fifth year. And what a career it has been: three offensive coordinators, two head coaches, one position change[Edited on August 2, 2007 at 1:41 PM. Reason : http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/657329.html]

Butler High defensive back Eddie Whitley, who committed to Virginia Tech, will likely miss his senior season because of knee surgery.Whitley tore his anterior cruciate ligament at a camp in June. He had surgery last Wednesday. His two college finalists -- Virginia Tech and N.C. State -- knew about the injury and would honor their scholarship offers, Butler coach Mike Newsome said."The surgery went well and he's expected to make a full recovery," Newsome said.Whitley has an slim chance to return for the playoffs, depending on how rehabilitation progresses, Newsome said. http://www.charlotte.com/sports_breaking/story/219914.html
8/2/2007 1:51:48 PM
I do believe I called that one ^ ... but my source said we would only honor the scholarship offer if it was a full recovery, and the offer would therefore have that contingency. Maybe VTech didn't, and thus he committed to them.
8/2/2007 2:21:12 PM
lots of confident ppl on the boards a/b Manning
8/2/2007 5:49:20 PM
I think thats why we didnt make a push for him really towards the end thereHis injury probably wont let him have a full recovery, some of those tears never do return you to even 50%.I think we just saw that there were and are bigger fish and healthier fish in the ocean of recruits and let him take another bait.Lots of good about Manning though, the best part is some of our guys will be there...remember no one was there to cover the last presser.
8/2/2007 5:55:27 PM
Man, I can only imagine having Manning, Maddox and Beasley for three or four years. All run a good 4.6 or less 40 and all are at least 6'2, 205+ pounds. That's a good blend of size and speed all over.
8/2/2007 6:11:44 PM
maybe our lack of recruitment made him take that last second visit. I know that sounds like something a UNC person would say but it seems odd he took a visit that late in his recruitment when he said he already had a decision and was going to announce. I wanted Whitley as bad as the next person but this does have George Bell written all over it. Didn't he try to come back for his HS playoffs too?
8/2/2007 6:34:41 PM
recruiting is ab to heat up again
8/2/2007 9:01:51 PM
^i'm drinkin with some friends in greensboro tomorrow night. I'll have a few for our soon to be commitment
8/2/2007 9:10:25 PM
^^is that just a prediction/opinion, or are you basing this off some double-secret-probation-knowledge
8/2/2007 10:23:35 PM
has anyone else (aside from Manning) considering us said they will commit to a school before the start of the high school season?
8/2/2007 10:55:01 PM
^ we have like 8 commitments.....I've always enjoyed watching linebackers at FSU and Miami run around and fly to the ball and make plays, rather than get lost in space and have no clue what's going on, on other teams . tOSU's LB's always seem to have a nose for the ball as well.
8/2/2007 10:58:35 PM
^ yah, sorry I should have said excluding those guys as wellI meant anyone else planning to commit before the start of school, but hasn't yet
8/2/2007 11:09:16 PM
lets just say every "insider" state has is saying TM to nc state tmrw..........and they all sound 100% confident
