I really don't see any way that we can continue without firing Chuck Amato. Why can't we ever beat UNC at football, basketball, baseball?Paul Johnson for NCSU head coach.

Summary of points scored throughout the season. If offense got good field position and then didn't move the ball will count for who is responsible instead for the field goal (either special teams or defense). A field goal over 40 yards will count as special teams. Just my opinion on that.Game 1 - Appalachian StateOffense: 21 pointsDefense: 2 pointsGame 2 - AkronOffense: 14 pointsSpecial Teams: 3 pointsGame 3 - Southern MississippiOffense: 14 pointsSpecial Teams: 3 pointsGame 4 - Boston CollegeOffense: 17 pointsGame 5 - Florida StateOffense: 24 pointsGame 6 - Wake ForestOffense: 23 pointsGame 7 - MarylandOffense: 13 pointsSpecial Teams: 7 pointsGame 8 - VirginiaOffense: 7 pointsGame 9 - Georgia TechOffense: 6 pointsDefense: 10 pointsSpecial Teams: 7 pointsGame 10 - ClemsonOffense: 7 pointsDefense: 7 pointsGame 11 - North CarolinaOffense: 3 pointsSpecial Teams: 6 pointsPoints Scored in first six games:Offense: 18.8 points per gameSpecial Teams: 1.0 point per gameDefense: 0.3 points per gamePoints Scored in last five games:Offense: 7.2 points per gameSpecial Teams: 4.0 points per gameDefense: 3.4 points per gameWhat the heck happened to our offense? Our non-offensive points are higher than our offensive points per game the last half of this season according to this analysis. Is Evans just limited and opponents have figured him out? Is Trestman just stupid (or just suck)? Is it just we don't have a running game and Evans is just overwhelmed and is unable to carry the team? Or, does Amato just suck?[Edited on November 18, 2006 at 4:43 PM. Reason : /]

its obviously the west coast offense crapola and trestman...he must goour players are AVERAGE! but we'd be a .500 team if we had someone else at coordinatorevans and the teams is only a part of the problem, the problem lies deep in and is hire up in the scheme of things...look at our penalties, nobody respects chuck or probably listens to him
11/18/2006 5:47:57 PM
fuck this shitim not going to another away game as long a chuck is coach
11/18/2006 5:52:09 PM

At the end of the day, it is the performance of the players on field that wins or loses games. Obviously, for some reason, the players are under performing - dropping passes, missing tackles, causing penalties, not blocking. Perhaps they have quit putting there best on the field to send a message - we want a change. Or perhaps they just feel it doesn't matter if they win or lose - they still get fed, their scholarship is safe, they get treated well and we all cheer for them when they descend the steps into the stadium. Perhaps some have a different agenda - pro football, just graduate or avoiding injury. Ultimately Amato and the other coaches have the responsibility to prepare and motivate the players. Obviously the players aren't prepared to play and their motivation to win is questionable. There has to be a change. Change the coaches, motivate the players or some combination of both may be the solution. All the whining and rhetoric on this and other fourms and blogs will not cause any changes. Money talks and as long as we continue to buy the tickets, there will not be much motivation for the Chancellor and Fowler to take any action. When the students stop going to the games, stop joing the Student Wolfpack Club and stop all the cheering, perhaps someone will see the necessity for a change. So we are likely stuck with Chuck for the foreseeable future. But it would be refreshing to see a better effort on the field along with some discipline.
11/18/2006 7:14:28 PM
people not buying tickets/students not showing up/etc is not going to get Chuck fired. You are right that money is the decision maker, but the ones with the most money have the most pull. Chuck is gone when the big donors, Murphy and others, decide he is gone.

Today was the final straw. 3 consecutive lackluster performances to an inferior school who happens to be our archrival is inexcusable. I defended Chuck repeatedly but after today it's fairly clear that there are some serious problems within the program that cannot be fixed. It says a lot when the only schools that Bunting has a winning record against is dook and State...
11/18/2006 8:03:12 PM
Well I'm glad you finally realized what we've known since the beginning of the season.
11/18/2006 8:07:32 PM
i sat in the unc student section having to deal with all the bullshit from skyblue-wearing pussies while not really having a reason on the field to be able to yell anything substantial back at themi mean i did yell back but i can't fucking take this shit anymore, losing to those sonsofbitchesin conclusion,
11/18/2006 8:11:32 PM
Hahaha. I haven't been on TWW in over a year, but I just came to see if there would be a Fire Chuck thread, and sure enough here's one that's 13 pages long.....So the fans have run off Herb, now lets try to get rid of Chuck. Hey I have an idea, lets go for the Soccer Coaches next. I think they lost to Carolina sometime in the last few years. How about lets put the blame where the blame is due. Evans throws interceptions, our offensive line can't run block. Oh and how about the penalties for lining up on the line of scrimmage incorrectly? Something a 7th grader could handle. We have a shitty team. Enough with the "Fire Everyone" bullshit. Seriously. Our team sucks. Is it that hard to say?EDIT: I don't go to home games anymore because NC State fans are the shittiest fair weather fans I've ever encountered.[Edited on November 18, 2006 at 8:21 PM. Reason : Arg]
