"Everyone talks about Guzan that first goal, but Beckerman was just standing there watching Lanezzi, go make a challenge!"

It looked like he started to sprint out to go try and close down Messi... which I can't really blame him for. Guzan fucked up. He shouldn't have left his line there. The ball was lobbed and no way Lavezzi gets any power on it from that action. Comfortable save for Guzan if he's positioned properly.

yeah. more than one thing wrong with that first goal, but Guzan put himself in no-man's-land which sealed the deal.

There's nothing wrong with a keeper leaving his line for a soft cross in the box, but you can't hesitate and change your mind midway through. If you leave your line, you have to commit. That was Guzan's mistake.

Maybe Colombia will rest 10 starters again when we play them.

This. If he's going to come for the cross, he has to get to it. If he gets beat at the point of contact, so be it, but for him to stand there and get chipped by a header is ridiculous.

Bobby Wood is talented and all, but he needs to shut up and just play the game. His belly aching every time he gets challenged is annoying

Howard very well may be playing his final international game. Guzan is likely our keeper going into Russia and needed this experience.

Besides, Howard has the benefit of playing with house money this game.

We're actually moving the ball pretty well in the attacking third this game, we just aren't putting any shots on frame.

And the boys clearly were given a clear directive to bump and physically challenge James and Cuadrado, which I'm totally fine with, but it wouldn't surprise me if we find ourselves playing with 10 men at some point this half.

So no one can stop nagbys dribble but you wait and bring him in at the end. No other midfielder can complete a dribble

Real Madrid basically killed James. Guy is a shadow of his old self.

Still would be the best player in our history, but still.

Eh, not really, in my opinion. The only time that could have potentially been added on to the 5 minutes that were already added-on was during the Orozco-Arias scuffle in the 93rd minute.

And that time lost was due almost entirely to Orozco's inexcusable stupidity.

Im confident about the nagbe bit because no one else wven comes close to being able to posses the ball and dribble upfieldnwith pace. We spend the whole game on rolkerskates making passes under pressure which causes us to cough the ball up over and over. Its like treading water the whole game.

Nagbe needs to permanently play in front of bradley in a diamond

Jurgen has the keys to the car at the US. I can't see why he would leave that to go to the lion's den of England, where'd he likely be fired anyway.

Buuuutt.....since we're dealing with unlikely hypotheticals here...sign me up for Diego Simeone.

Ice been doing a lot of research lately. Turns out Bradley changed the game worldwide by going 442 against Spain and being the first coach to defeat Tika taka. Now 442 has cascaded and isee changing the way a lot of major clubs like leicester and athletic Madrid play and it's defeating the slow style that has dominated for years.

Pretty cool how this wave started with an American coach and has taken 7 years to fully manifest. It's likeasy the equivalent of spread offense in football

i used to feel bad about how he wasn't building for the future but somone explained to me about how damaging it is to call up a young player and have him miss key time with his club to hear from a different staff for only a few days before going back. that makes sense. let the players develop for free in thier clubs before you call them up.

Pulisic is the future. Feeling good about attacking options in life after Dempsey with him, Wood, and Morris. Now we gotta find a JJ replacement and a MB upgrade.
