In thought he had a fine SAT, but the higher the SAT, the lower his GPA has to be.

As practice, brown should calculate exactly what SAT score he needs to make up for a crappy GPA caused by asshole teachers.

How is Memphis still getting top level talent? I thought it was Calipari attracting these kids there but obviously not. I guess it's the opportunity to blow away 90% of the teams that you play.

Scott Wood played well in an Indiana all-star game. More stuff over at PP but there's a highlight of Scotty dunking that made the local news. Looked pretty quick and agile. This will be an interesting recruiting class to say the least.

I know everyone thinks he's a big sleeper, but how did he stay a 3 star?

He has height at 6'6", is considered a sharpshooter from 3, and apparently is at least average in his athletic ability.

That's a deadly combination, if true.

I would be cool to see our freshmen lineup versus the past year's crew. It'd be interesting:

G: Lo Brown
G: Scott Wood
F: Josh Davis
F: Richard Howell
C: Deshawn Painter

Sure, they're freshmen and you never know how they'll pan out, but on paper, the freshmen might beat the lineup from last year.

I don't mean they would beat them everytime.....but it'd be an interesting game, and they might beat them.

Fells would lock down Wood, but the PG advantage would go to the recruits, and the rest of the positions might be a wash.

If Costner had a bad game or something, it could happen.

^If those freshmen gave 100% effort they'd be rebounding all day over Ben or Brandon.

I like "Rock, Paper, Scissors Two-Thirds." You know. "Rock breaks scissors." "These scissors are bent. They're destroyed. I can't cut stuff. So I lose." "Scissors cuts paper." "These are strips. This is not even paper. It's gonna take me forever to put this back together." "Paper covers rock." "Rock is fine. No structural damage to rock. Rock can break through paper at any point. Just say the word. Paper sucks." There should be "Rock, Dynamite with a Cutable Wick, Scissors."

Not sure if it's just me, but the two guys Lowe seems to reference over and over again via interviews this off-season: Julius Mays and Scott Wood. Mays in particular gets mentioned regularly. It's got me thinking that he's the odds on favorite to be the starting PG, with Javi playing the 2. Brown could then come in if/when he's ready to play the 2. Wood on the other hand was not a guy I had pegged to see significant PT this year, but hey who knows...

^Javi at the two would be a BAD idea. The guy is 5'11 on a good day. On a guess, the average starting 2 in the ACC was around... 6'3 last year.

Maybe Wood can fill a roll like Landesberg did for Virginia last year. I know that it extremely optimistic.

That's way beyond just optimism. Landesberg didn't "fill a role," he was by far UVA's best player (and ACC ROY).

^he'll be here. Wood would have to score ~20 PPG with 5 assists and 6 rebounds a game and have Favors score about 8 points and 4 rebounds a game for him to win it over Favors. It's already penciled in and they're working on making the trophy now

Hey, rag on me all you want for posing the freshmen vs. last year's question, but it's a helluva lot better than the "what do you call a major conference" bullshit. At least mine involves the recruits.

Damn. Wood lit it up at the Hoosiers Reunion Classic

Quote :
"The game featured Hickory versus rival Terhune, and Wood played for the Terhune Tigers. He scored 26 points (10-of-15, 6-of-8 3's), dished out nine assists, and pulled down seven rebounds"

funny clip interviewing scott wood at some tournament

i don't know if you've guys have seen the senior year highlights of Scott Wood, but this kid could easily start for us at PG. I haven't seen that much fire and determination from any player since Julius and a longgg time before him.

this kid is gonna blow up when he gets here.

He's 6'6 and not noted for being particularly fast or quick. Why PG? Why not, I don't know, SF?
