As practice, brown should calculate exactly what SAT score he needs to make up for a crappy GPA caused by asshole teachers.

Will Barton and his brother to Memphis
6/6/2009 1:14:08 AM
How is Memphis still getting top level talent? I thought it was Calipari attracting these kids there but obviously not. I guess it's the opportunity to blow away 90% of the teams that you play.
6/6/2009 1:21:33 AM
oh man but i thought he was coming here for sure after that video.
6/6/2009 1:30:43 AM
interesting decision, nonetheless. Gotta figure memphis is dead as a doornail without cal
6/6/2009 1:34:33 AM
Scott Wood played well in an Indiana all-star game. More stuff over at PP but there's a highlight of Scotty dunking that made the local news. Looked pretty quick and agile. This will be an interesting recruiting class to say the least.
6/7/2009 1:52:14 PM
I know everyone thinks he's a big sleeper, but how did he stay a 3 star?He has height at 6'6", is considered a sharpshooter from 3, and apparently is at least average in his athletic ability. That's a deadly combination, if true.I would be cool to see our freshmen lineup versus the past year's crew. It'd be interesting:G: Lo BrownG: Scott WoodF: Josh DavisF: Richard HowellC: Deshawn PainterSure, they're freshmen and you never know how they'll pan out, but on paper, the freshmen might beat the lineup from last year.
6/7/2009 5:49:55 PM
No they wouldn't
6/7/2009 5:52:18 PM
I don't mean they would beat them everytime.....but it'd be an interesting game, and they might beat them.Fells would lock down Wood, but the PG advantage would go to the recruits, and the rest of the positions might be a wash.If Costner had a bad game or something, it could happen.
6/7/2009 6:00:22 PM
^If those freshmen gave 100% effort they'd be rebounding all day over Ben or Brandon.
6/7/2009 6:00:35 PM
^ still no.
6/7/2009 6:01:47 PM
ben was saying the team with mays horner and kendall smith routinely beat them in practice at the end of the year
6/7/2009 6:37:54 PM
lol
6/7/2009 8:23:49 PM
if we go up against rock, we're solidif we go up against scissors though... watch out
6/7/2009 9:46:21 PM
I like "Rock, Paper, Scissors Two-Thirds." You know. "Rock breaks scissors." "These scissors are bent. They're destroyed. I can't cut stuff. So I lose." "Scissors cuts paper." "These are strips. This is not even paper. It's gonna take me forever to put this back together." "Paper covers rock." "Rock is fine. No structural damage to rock. Rock can break through paper at any point. Just say the word. Paper sucks." There should be "Rock, Dynamite with a Cutable Wick, Scissors."

Not sure if it's just me, but the two guys Lowe seems to reference over and over again via interviews this off-season: Julius Mays and Scott Wood. Mays in particular gets mentioned regularly. It's got me thinking that he's the odds on favorite to be the starting PG, with Javi playing the 2. Brown could then come in if/when he's ready to play the 2. Wood on the other hand was not a guy I had pegged to see significant PT this year, but hey who knows...
6/8/2009 6:21:06 AM
^Javi at the two would be a BAD idea. The guy is 5'11 on a good day. On a guess, the average starting 2 in the ACC was around... 6'3 last year.
6/8/2009 7:35:37 AM
Maybe Wood can fill a roll like Landesberg did for Virginia last year. I know that it extremely optimistic.
6/8/2009 7:38:08 AM
^As long as we don't have the same result as a team I'd be fine with that.
6/8/2009 7:56:18 AM
man... what are you guys doing in here?
6/8/2009 8:09:51 AM
what are you talking about?
6/8/2009 8:37:12 AM
uva being 4-12
6/8/2009 8:41:15 AM
6/8/2009 8:44:43 AM
Someone has to win it each year. Why can't I hope it's Wood.
6/8/2009 8:46:02 AM
^I wouldn't get my hopes up, it'll be Favors.
6/8/2009 8:47:14 AM
wood isn't even most likely on our team to win it.well, i guess he might be w/ the brown academic situation
6/8/2009 9:01:27 AM
^he'll be here. Wood would have to score ~20 PPG with 5 assists and 6 rebounds a game and have Favors score about 8 points and 4 rebounds a game for him to win it over Favors. It's already penciled in and they're working on making the trophy now
6/8/2009 9:05:44 AM
a vandenberg video has surfaced via wphhttp://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4728604523473835895&hl=en
6/8/2009 9:22:59 AM
Hey, rag on me all you want for posing the freshmen vs. last year's question, but it's a helluva lot better than the "what do you call a major conference" bullshit. At least mine involves the recruits.
6/8/2009 9:48:47 AM
^^ wow he needs to bulk up. he got pushed around quite a bit in that video.
6/8/2009 9:53:49 AM
I wonder what the recruits think of using the BCS term in a basketball context.
6/8/2009 9:54:35 AM
^they could care less, honestly.
6/8/2009 10:12:01 AM
I wonder what j_sun thinks of my wondering what the recruits think of using the BCS term in a basketball context.
6/8/2009 10:15:15 AM
lol, seriously though, go ask em. they don't give a shit what you call it.

thanks, it's nice to share stuff when you find it. just sayin.
6/8/2009 10:59:56 AM
^^ why didn't you post it a few weeks ago?
6/8/2009 11:01:12 AM
you are all liars. we don't stand a chance with brown. there's no way he's a silent verbal. harrow can't dunk so he sucks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XgDiDwp0UUfunny clip interviewing scott wood at some tournamenti don't know if you've guys have seen the senior year highlights of Scott Wood, but this kid could easily start for us at PG. I haven't seen that much fire and determination from any player since Julius and a longgg time before him.this kid is gonna blow up when he gets here.
