Apparently the death of two of his closest people in front of his face and the threat of having to chop his son's hand off seems to have made him a little more practical. I assume you'd be so badass that you wouldn't be affected by those things though
11/15/2016 2:12:21 PM
^^Because of the consequences of Negan knowing that Maggie is alive. It was implied that Negan would have taken her back to his camp and raped her or forced her to join the women that he offered to Dwight in the last episode. Giving the rifle to Negan is a relatively small issue that would have had a huge consequence. Telling him about Maggie would have been an awful situation regardless.
11/15/2016 2:17:49 PM
^^huh? Why does it it make a difference what I would do? I prob wouldn't/couldn't have done 95% of what Rick has done.
11/15/2016 4:30:49 PM
I am just not understanding why you don't think seeing Glenn and Abraham's brains get bashed in feet away from him while he sat there helpless and then almost cutting off his son's hand couldn't have had a profound effect on how willing he was to fight and risk anyone else's lives. They spend the whole first episode showing how depraved and powerful Negan is, I don't think you really need to suspend disbelief that much to assume Rick isn't going to just shoot him at the gates with a ton of people behind him and in possession of Darryl
11/15/2016 4:40:42 PM
Where is maggie? I think i missed that she was gone...
11/15/2016 5:47:42 PM
Her location is in the previews for next week I think, so I won't be the first to put that in writing
11/15/2016 5:56:56 PM
^^^so is the assumption that they never fight and have to wait on the saviors (who are presumably even more in thrall) to mutiny? Or will Rosita lead a rebel group (vs getting caught and killed) and become new leader?

I'm interested in seeing the ratings so far this season, I've heard of quite a few people who have stopped watching after the premiere. They are mostly older people, who got turned off by the gore, etc. I wonder how many other casual viewers felt the same wayAnd I agree with the sentiment that it would be nice to see Rick and Co have a victory for a change

11/16/2016 7:22:54 AM
this Neegan story line is pretty boring to me
11/16/2016 8:33:46 AM
so, if I'm looking at that correctly, the premiere was strong, but the 2nd and 3rd episodes have dropped viewership to the lowest levels since 2013. Which pretty much reinforces the point I was making, right?I love the show, but I dont find myself looking forward to watching it live anymore like I have the last couple of years. I'd prefer to watch Westworld or football on sunday nights and catch up on TWD later in the week.[Edited on November 16, 2016 at 8:44 AM. Reason : oih]

Ratings drop is interesting. This is far-and-away the best storyline in the comics(at least until this point in the show), and I think Negan certainly breathed fresh air into a show that desperately needed it. Sure it sucked to have 2 main characters killed off, but in regards to "gore"? Really? It's a damn zombie show, get over it. Nothing about this show screamed "good old-fashioned family fun". They explained last season and the first episode this year where Maggie was going. She needed a doctor for the baby, the doctor they had took an arrow to the eye, and the Hilltop had a doctor(remember the ultrasound?) so they were taking her there when they ran into Negan's trap. At the end of the first eipsode Sasha said she'd go with her. So the next episode will likely be centered around Maggie, Sasha, and the Hilltop. My only question with this season(and basically the last 2-3 season) is pacing. I understand the cast is too large to have them in each episode, but basically going 2-3 weeks in between seeing main characters like Rick is a little annoying. Seems like every season the first episode everyone is together, they break apart for some convoluted reason, and then we spend the entire season getting them back together just to rinse and repeat.
11/16/2016 9:15:15 AM
I am not sure it was the gore, I think it was the twisted mindfuck games, and the fact they are yet again fighting an evil regime, except this time minus on of the beloved characters. I don't think the ratings would have been that low if Glenn had lived. I think the mental torture of Glenn's death was actually depressing for people. When you become actually depressed by a tv show, it kind of gets you reflecting why the fuck are you even choosing to watch something that depresses you. I think it will rebound, but I think a lot of fans are still recovering. That being said I think the comic book people are now more engaged than ever since they are including more stuff from the comics.
11/16/2016 10:24:15 AM
Negan strikes me as the type who would have made them dig up Maggie's grave.
11/16/2016 12:06:01 PM
I wonder if the rating drop of Glenn dying will make them extremely reluctant to kill of Daryl now? Always hoped it would come just to see reactions.
11/16/2016 1:20:13 PM
Negan didn't say that he wanted Maggie until he got there, and he saw she was in bad shape beforenow if he had expressed interest in her coming with him and then Rick said she was dead, he might have been more curiousbut what if Negan goes to the Hilltop and sees her, Rick knows this and still had the guts to lie to Negan
11/16/2016 2:06:27 PM
Not memorable. Starting to get the feeling that this season was sadly, all about episode 1.
11/21/2016 6:03:08 PM
yeah, this is lame
11/21/2016 7:09:53 PM
Can't wait for the goofy black dude with his lyger coming up next episode!
11/21/2016 10:44:00 PM
Khorl found Jesus it looks like, or maybe Jesus found himEither way, it took a lot of guts to get in that truck.
11/22/2016 10:16:56 AM
Did Koral and Jesus have any interaction when Jesus came to Alexandria before?
11/22/2016 4:24:24 PM
It's about time that Khorl kissed Enid.
11/25/2016 2:12:54 PM
What the fuck was that episode?!
11/27/2016 11:10:11 PM
There are too many fucking characters on this show, scattered all around. Interesting episode but I couldn't give two shits about Tara's story. Fucking hell...so much time in between seeing all the characters, I'm starting to forget what Carol & Morgan even look like.
11/28/2016 9:18:21 AM
that's what has really turned me off the show this season, they have gotten locked into their formula of split everybody up and do whole episodes on different story lines. I know they have scheduling and budget to deal with but damn it just ruins the pacing for me.
11/28/2016 9:34:45 AM
Meh, boring episode, but at least we know where Rick and Co will likely find their guns to go to war with Negan. That was a nice little armory.
11/28/2016 9:36:36 AM
Tara didn't spill the beans about the other group thoughThe Saviors might still be looking for them if they packed up and ranAnd the one girl had to have guts to betray her friends to help Tara, they are probably going to beat her when they get back.
11/28/2016 10:35:38 AM
11/28/2016 1:20:59 PM
So why did Tara take off running randomly in the woods? I thought they were gonna let her go? I guess they were gonna kill her after all and she figured it out?
11/28/2016 2:05:06 PM
^ I went back to figure that one out too, I'm still a little puzzled what tipped her off? Natanya agreed to send scouts with Tara to find Heath and return to Alexandria to investigate a possible alliance.or maybe she didn't want them to find Heath? maybe she doesn't trust them to know more about their group?and as far as continuity goes... that all girls group had their men all murdered for their defiance, why the change of heart for Rick's group?[Edited on November 28, 2016 at 2:15 PM. 11/28/2016 2:12:57 PM
I mean the walker that Tara and the 2 girls walked up on looked like a trap, and the fact that they all had weapons and they just stopped and would let her go out there when they were on an escort mission, that basically screamed trap. She just got really lucky their first shot missed...also helped all of those ladies were TERRIBLE shots, even in the camp when she was running. Tara isn't exactly a small target or spry. I mean when Negan met Rick's crew, it was a bunch of dudes and a few women. So if you're Negan and you want a community working for you, there is certainly more production in numbers and he has no clue how many other women they have, so no reason to kill all the men until you can analyze the group. Also, look at the group he comes across. He literally took out the most physically imposing(Abraham), he captured the "tough" guy(Daryl), he made the leader bend a knee(Rick), and he killed another male in good shape(Glenn). He left behind an overweight guy with a mullet(Eugene), a boy with one eye(Khorl), and a guy that was crying(Aaron). Negan really did take out the most dangerous guys at Rick's disposal. Also, if Negan killed off all the men and the women ran away and took all those guns, perhaps he learned his lesson of mass killings and still expecting people to work for you.
11/28/2016 5:55:07 PM
^ok, that narrative works I guess. But I will still stand by Tara being the worst character to follow
11/28/2016 11:05:53 PM
^^Yeah that's basically what I thought.
11/29/2016 9:09:11 AM
When they encountered the zombie that was stuck in the bush or whatever though, one of the escorts was about to go kill it? Then Tara volunteered to, with the intent of having a few extra yards headstart. So it seems to me that when she volunteered to kill it, she already knew she was gonna run.
11/29/2016 10:41:21 AM
What tipped me off was they left the camp with absolutely no supplies. No packs or anything. Just guns.[Edited on November 29, 2016 at 11:02 AM. Reason : a]
11/29/2016 11:02:30 AM
^^that whole scene was bizarre. It was one walker, stuck in some brush. And the two chicks from the settlement stayed semi-hidden behind that tree while Tara went up to it to kill it. WTF were they hiding from?
11/29/2016 12:32:01 PM
They are definitely expanding the world, which fits the model they have been following since the start. - Rick by himself vs walkers- Rick with help from individuals (Glen and Morgan) vs walkers- Rick vs internal struggle with wife/Shane vs walkers- Rick + farmhouse vs walkers- Rick & Co vs Governor (main threat is transitioning from walkers to other survivors)- Rick & Co vs Governor part 2- Rick & Co + Abraham & Co vs Terminus (full transition of main threat to other survivors)- Rick & Co + Alexandria vs Wolves- Rick + Alexandria + Hilltop vs Saviors- ?? Rick + Alexandria + Hilltop + Kingdom + Oceanside vs Saviors ??From the big picture it looks like the show is exploring the theme of civilization recovering from the zombie apocalypse while individuals/communities struggle with their own civility (Tara/Heath's conversation, Morgan's/Carol's struggles)
12/1/2016 11:10:10 AM
feels like its starting to pick back up, just in time for the midseason finale never a bad thing to have more Negan though
12/6/2016 8:54:28 AM
Figured the war with Negan would last 2 seasons, it's just too good of a storyline and character to blow through.
12/6/2016 9:01:09 AM
So it seems that Negan is in Alexandria. Alone. Without even a gun. I know that the writers want to keep him alive until the end of the season or until next season or whatever, but from a plot point of view, why wouldn't people in Alexandria be rushing him? Yeah, I get that Rosita has a bullet and will prob try something next episode, but damn. Come on. Just rush him, kill him as quickly as possible, then feed his body to some zombies. Throw his truck in a lake and tell his people that he never showed up.Sidenote: I would really like to see a few episodes on Negan's rise to power. I wonder what he did before the outbreak and how he went from regular survivor to getting people to fear him so much that they let him get away with all this stuff.[Edited on December 6, 2016 at 9:25 AM. No, that doesn't explain how he first became the "leader" and has an army of followers who allow him to take their girlfriends and burn their faces.
12/6/2016 10:44:40 AM
But Negan isn't in Alexandria alone, he had multiple trucks and the other guy opened the gate. True, Negan is sitting on the porch with Khorl and a baby, do you really see people rushing him while he's holding a baby? There are basically no weapons in Alexandria at the point he's on the porch, and who knows if Negan has guards patrolling the area watching him. Let's not forget, civilians of Alexandria have no real survival skills as most never had to live outside of the walls for very long. Factor in that Rick, Aaron, Daryl, Michonne, Sasha, and Maggie are no where near Alexandria with the fact that Eugene, Rosita, Spencer, and maybe Gabriel are just now getting back, who was there with experience to actually attack Negan? Jesus is a question-mark at this point, but I never got the impression he was back in Alexandria.
12/6/2016 10:48:07 AM
They showed Jesus on the top of one of the trucks in the convoy when Negan left the sanctuary with Khorl (then when they showed the truck again, he wasn't there anymore, probably crawled in or under the truck)
12/6/2016 11:18:12 AM
ok, I gotta get this off my chestKhorl fucked up, HE HAD THE SHOT what a dumb asshole, you'd think he was just some kid or something....oh yea
12/6/2016 12:44:42 PM
Negan is in Alexandria, just sitting on a porchI think that takes gutsRosita is about to try something gutsy so lets see where this goes next week
12/6/2016 1:16:06 PM
I have a feeling Rosita will fuck that up and get people killed or taken when he discovers she was hoarding weapons, since she is pretty he might take her as a wife since she is so gutsy and 'he likes that'
12/6/2016 1:33:30 PM
12/6/2016 1:35:38 PM
I'm confused- is Negan supposed to act this fucking cheesy; or is the actor just that shitty? The whole rockin' back and with the smile and giving some stupid line schtick is beyond gay.
12/7/2016 12:42:58 AM
I think he has the comic character spot onHe admires khorl for having the guts to do what he didI'm guessing the whole everyone's plot lines cross for next week, before diverging again
