my blood pressure has been acting strange on me since i started weightlifting.

my best BP rate was 117/71 when I was running only and doing just very minor weights, and normally it's been around 125/80 but since I started doing lifting with my trainer (since june) my systolic started getting into the 130 range but my diastolic hadn't changed. This morning i went to walmart and checked it there and it said 142/70 and 72bpm. Why would the top rate change but the bottom one actually go lower? Could it be the result of me lifting a lot and changing my diet (i.e. using protein shakes)? I'm not really where i want to be in strength, but I'm worried if i go to a doctor he'll tell me to cut it out

I got a problem where I don't feel like I have a good workout unless I bench, and I can only bench a couple times a week

On a legs day, I feel like there's something missing

I guess I just miss that post workout pump where I can walk around in the locker room shirtless and show off

^^^Systolic blood pressure isn't as much of a concern because it measures the pressure created against the arterial walls when the heart is pumping (as opposed to diastolic, which measures the pressure created against the arterial walls when the heart is resting - if that pressure gets to high you can have an aneurysm).

The top number can be affected by salt, calcium, potassium, caffeine, etc. But I would talk to your doctor and keep an eye on it to be safe.

Anyone have experience using adjustable dumbbells like these:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00615801000P?vName=Fitness+&psid=FROOGLE01&sName=Dumbbells&cName=Strength&sid=IDx20070921x00003a

I've found a pair for $50, sure they only go up to 50lbs. on each one, but they'd just be for home use when I can't get to the gym.

^I was at dicks sporting goods yesterday and saw some dumbbells similar to those,

http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3198044&cp=2367438.2367453.2622932

I knew about them and thought they were very practical and space saving, so i messed around with them. The dial switch was tough to turn, i couldn't even get it to rotate on one side, and the price is way too high. They are flimsier than they look and I wouldn't recommend them. After ~5minutes of messing around with them i decided my set was much better

http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2173648&cp=2367438.2367453.2622932

that's not exactly my set but its the screw cap with plates to adjust the weights. Extremely sturdy, no problems at all and it will save you a few hundred bucks

Thanks. All the reviews on the ones that I linked to have been pretty good, and for $50 I consider it a bargain if they work (seeing as one set of 40lb weights would run me at least the same amount).

Good Morning

On round one, perform 6 reps of each exercise, moving from one exercise to the next, never letting go of the bar, never resting. Remember, you'll finish all six reps of each exercise before moving to the next one.

Rest 90 seconds after the first circuit, then perform 5 reps of each in the next circuit; rest 90 seconds, 4 reps of each; rest 90 seconds, 3 reps of each; rest 90 seconds, 2 reps of each; rest 90 seconds, and then do 1 rep of each.
