oh yea i understandyou were a swimmer right?dittoi can't wear capped sleeve shirts or boatneck shirts really either without looking like a huge dyke. no offense, obviously. but my shoulders look beastly. so i feel you. it could be weird.
2/25/2010 7:32:53 PM
Yeah ... Halters are my worst enemy. The curse of the swimmer.
2/25/2010 7:44:26 PM
what do you guys think of these shoes??
2/25/2010 9:31:06 PM
ew. i don't like shoes like that. i don't like alot of the shoes that people are fans of these days. SOWWY!if you like em and will wear em, buy em!
2/25/2010 11:12:58 PM
they are kind of heinous. but i wear flip flops all the time so take that how you wish.
2/25/2010 11:13:34 PM
i think they're cute, especially the ruffle detail. personally, i would want a higher heel.
2/25/2010 11:16:43 PM
those shoes would have to be worn with just the right outfit
2/25/2010 11:30:37 PM
they are too grandmotherlyhigher narrower heel for surethe way they are, i don't like
2/26/2010 5:26:05 AM
Those shoes are great with business outfits, like button-down shirts with pencil skirts. It makes the ensemble look more contemporary. I like them, but only for business attire.
2/26/2010 6:29:44 AM
ehehe i like them i agree with CassTheSass though.i love me a hiiiiiiiiigh heel!

Still looking at dress options for the gf's wedding. Found some awesome dresses from Betsey Johnson and BCBG. I REALLY like the last dress, the green number from BCBG. But that much green could be overkill. And it may be too plain. I really love all of these though. Also, I think it's funny that the girl in the vibrant pink dress is carrying a bright red clutch. i loveeeeeeeeeee this:[image]http://[/image]
2/26/2010 11:07:39 AM
i really like this one
2/26/2010 11:07:49 AM
the shape is nicebut the trim makes it look like something a cute nazi would wear
2/26/2010 11:12:18 AM
The gray one is only $65. The cute white one with the purple detail is about 5 times more expensive, but it's soooo cute and I love the way BCBG dresses fit me. I've never ordered from modcloth, and while there are reviews online, I definitely worry a little about how it will fit once I order.Has anyone had to return items to modcloth? How's their return policy?
2/26/2010 11:21:24 AM
i have had fitting issues with modcloth.i bought a skirt in medium. i couldn't pull it over my hips. i have to put it on over my head.i didnt return it though b/c i really, really like it. and it fits...just a little hassle to put it on.

^ Sweet! I'm going to see if they have it at the local BCBG so I can take pics in it. And maybe post the pics to teedub for feedback.^^ I can deal with that. Most of my really cute dresses are a pain in the butt to put on ... strapless dresses in particular. Now that I'm looking at some of the dresses, I may weed out the ones that would require me to wear spanx. I intend to have a hot date to this wedding and spanx would kill the mood. So this rules out satiny dresses. [Edited on February 26, 2010 at 11:31 AM. Reason : .]
2/26/2010 11:30:36 AM
that green one is draped nicely across the front, you wont need spanx with that remember, dont wear white to a wedding!
2/26/2010 2:55:48 PM
i like that last green one[Edited on February 26, 2010 at 2:57 PM. Reason : ]
2/26/2010 2:57:11 PM
i like the green, too.
2/26/2010 3:07:11 PM
^^^ Yeah, the whole spanx thing rules out the cute pink BCBG dress, as well as dresses 2-4, the Betsey Johnson numbers. I'm going to try to find some of the BCBG dresses at the store tonight!

2/26/2010 6:13:23 PM
In Vegas, just wear flats and break out the sexy shoes for the club.
2/26/2010 8:21:03 PM
lucy - I really like this dress, but it looks really short. and I'd be iffy about wearing white to a wedding. joie - I love that necklace! was it a "just beacuse" gift? those are the best.
2/26/2010 8:47:52 PM

Oh dear. My sister finally has a boyfriend.Mom emailed me:

I was in that boat in high school too (actually did have severe cramps, but also wanted BC). I got tri levlen, and it stopped the cramps. I don't know much about the weight gain part. I've been on several different kinds and never gained weight from any. I think the weight gain thing is generally way overdramatized. But as far as price goes, I imagine some of the generics would be covered under stores that offer $5 generics or whatever those deals are. And I don't think any of them are particularly better than the others. It's mostly trial and error to figure out which one is best for each woman.
2/28/2010 1:51:23 PM
Haha I went to my ob-gyn recently because I've been on the pill since I was 19 and wanted to discuss other options... I said something about which birth controls = weight gain and he said flat out "Women don't gain weight because of birth control; they gain weight because they eat too much". That was so funny to me because I have some friends that always blame any weight gain on the pill. I am on Levora (Nordette is the expensive namebrand) and it is 10 bucks a month w/ insurance. Way less expensive than a baby. OrthoTriCyclen = nono!!!!
2/28/2010 5:56:28 PM
i take karvia which is the generic of mircette. it is $10 a month.just find a BC with a generic if you want a low cost option.and i have also heard that weight gain on the pill is grossly exaggerated.
2/28/2010 5:59:46 PM
2/28/2010 6:07:51 PM
i used to take orthotricyclen lo in HS. never took the generic of thatbut now i take mircette (well karvia). rec to me because i have super painful periods.i think that more than weight gain the big concern w/ the pill is mood changes. i dunno though. the only generic i've ever taken is the one i'm on now.[Edited on February 28, 2010 at 6:10 PM. Reason : .]
2/28/2010 6:10:00 PM
Yep - that's why I stopped Ortho. I was super angry!!! Levora is the shiznit though.
2/28/2010 6:11:37 PM
2/28/2010 7:38:10 PM
i was on orthotricyclen forever then went genericthen went to the patch then back to the generic orthothen i went to the ring and i love it. so much better than taking a pill everyday! although its not really a big deal, i just like one less thing to do
2/28/2010 8:58:39 PM
^^I bought a bunch of stuff when I worked at VS, but I'm pretty sure my bf isn't in to it, so it just lays in my closet unworn :/maybe I'll just have to surprise him one day and make him like it [Edited on February 28, 2010 at 9:39 PM. Reason : ]
2/28/2010 9:38:26 PM
Is there such a thing as cute shoes that are comfortable enough for 8-10 hours of standing?I dunno if it's because I have high arches and don't get enough support there, but at the end of the day when I've been teaching, my back/legs/feet are all killing me. My mom has recommended some shoes to me, but they're all ugly and clunky things that I'd never wear with a skirt.
2/28/2010 10:02:45 PM
Have any of you guys ever been to Cotton On? Its a store in Australia but they've got stores in the US. I love it, its like american apperal but like 1/3 of the price. http://www.cottonon.com.au
