I thought about leaving early, but I've been at C-F for a few epic and improbable comebacks, so I stayed. and it was worth it. But God bless that was 3+ quarters of HORRIBLE football. I don't think there was a single State fan around me who wasn't pissed off at the coaching and play calling.
10/31/2022 9:02:16 AM
Yes, I've also seen a lot of improbable things happen(FSU win just this year) and have stayed for more than my fair share in 25+ years of season tickets but that was god awful.
10/31/2022 9:13:50 AM
I'm interested to see if anyone from the media calls this "tweet" out today
10/31/2022 9:15:13 AM
I think it’s fine for Doeren to call out fans that left. I also think it’s fine for those fans to have left.
10/31/2022 9:21:58 AM
sounds like Dave was doing some drinking and playing around on twitter
10/31/2022 4:25:18 PM
I stayed for the whole game, but don't blame people for leaving. It wasn't like it was a 7 point game and people were just leaving early to beat the traffic. The game was hard to watch for the majority of it.
10/31/2022 11:46:55 PM
Fans to Dave:]
11/1/2022 8:01:40 AM
Nearly a week later and Twitter is STILL beating this "leave early" dead horse. Sick of the WILL SOMEBODY THINK OF THE RECRUITS argument. Some of those very same people are positively atrocious on a VERY PUBLIC Twitter when they talk about the athletes, coaching staff in program, but sure let's key in on attendance as a sole factor. Also I've been hearing people bitching about empty stands since 1995.IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING WITH "YOU PEOPLE."FANNIES.CLOWN SHOES.SEASON OF INCHES.TA WAS IN.FIRE HERB!!!1
11/1/2022 11:04:40 AM
Also, don't the facts pan out that they played better after people left?
11/1/2022 11:05:27 AM
I’m very glad I don’t follow the Twitter accounts making a big deal about this. I’ve seen some mention of it but have managed to avoid too much idiocy.
11/1/2022 11:37:15 AM
I left early, about 4-5 years ago
11/1/2022 12:21:41 PM
I go out at half. I leave early. Go Pack.
11/1/2022 1:07:44 PM
Supremely good shit tonight. Gotta think Bama may move on from Saban after their loss tonight…do they look at Doeren?
11/5/2022 11:23:46 PM
TBH I'm more worried about him taking over the Patriots when Belichick is fired in 2 weeks
11/6/2022 12:06:23 AM
Brady gonna hand pick him to take over the Bucs? Would probably be a step down for Doeren really
11/6/2022 12:12:25 AM
Tom Brady or MJ MorrisHe won't even take the call
11/6/2022 12:13:41 AM
don't know about all these lateral moves. think he's holding out for Pope Francis to step down.
11/6/2022 1:09:04 AM
if Dave wins out the rest of the year, no way he stays.MJ transfersLeary goes proAll is the right in the wolfverse.[Edited on November 6, 2022 at 9:15 AM. Reason : ed]

Strong chance we go from 7-2 to 7-5
11/12/2022 7:51:59 PM
he’s always been an ultra-conservative coach and today solidified it
11/12/2022 8:03:41 PM
His one riverboat moment is maybe the difference too lol
11/12/2022 8:09:59 PM
^^Not disagreeing because I think you’re right. But today was a weird form of going conservative. Our RBs averaged over 5 ypc. But in the second half we put the ball in Morris’ hands too often with pass plays (some resulted in sacks or scrambles) and QB runs especially when Morris looked hobbled. I know some runs were read options where he could’ve handed it off…but still. Feels like a heavy dose of Allen and Houston runs would’ve been better in the second half.[Edited on November 12, 2022 at 8:11 PM. Reason : Arrows]
11/12/2022 8:10:46 PM
Our passing game has been pretty pathetic all year long. In today’s college football it is hard to overcome that. We have managed to do it a lot this year but it bit us today.
11/12/2022 11:29:45 PM
i thought morris got hit pretty hard in the 3rd/4th qtr. Running game should have been called up more imo.
11/13/2022 8:53:36 AM
Yeah rwoody mentioned it but it was like the reverse of the VT game. We insisted on passing or running Morris when the RBs should’ve been getting more carries at that point in the game.
11/13/2022 9:28:38 AM
^^I think it was actually the first half, he got hit and came up touching his knee, I noticed some limping occasionally from there. Those 2nd half hits just made it worse.
11/13/2022 12:19:00 PM
I thought the Pack Therapy podcast with Glennon and Giglio was pretty spot on, not sure if anybody else listens to that. They pointed out some criticism of play calling and coaching decisions. Plenty of blame to go around. I think it’s probably shared between DD’s philosophy and Beck’s philosophy. Doeren is conservative by nature but I think with a better OC/better play calling some of that could be overcome. Morris’ turnovers definitely gave the excuse for the coaches to be more conservative down the stretch. Criticism of DD is definitely warranted and this game was a display of what some of his shortcomings can get you. I’ve been a Doeren defender for a while (and 100% still am). But I think we need to make some changes to the offense.
11/14/2022 11:38:05 AM
I'll have to listen to it. I listen to the Joes' radio shows occasionally, but haven't ventured into their podcasting side of things yet. While I may revisit this once I listen, I was always under the impression that DD leans [i]very[i/] heavily on his coordinators to manage individual Xs and Os, which is the one that relieves me a bit. When we had Drinkwitz, we had a lot more trick plays and in my opinion played less (albeit still fairly) conservatively. I haven't watched enough Mizzou football to know if that's still how things are going under his watch or not, but my point is that he tends to give a lot of latitude on exactly how things are run to the coordinators. Heck, it's a known fact he overruled Beck in the Carolina game last year, and given the way it came out, it seems like it doesn't happen often -- in other words, he largely lets Beck roll how he wants. That's not to say he couldn't apply more pressure to Beck to change what he does, but at some point you have to acknowledge that you can only teach an old dog so many new tricks, and I think that's part of where we're at.Now, to circle back and invalidate just about everything I just said, does DD hire more conservative play callers to match with his own philosophies? Probably, yes? But I don't know for certain.
11/15/2022 8:53:27 AM
The Drinkwitz offense was a lot of throw downfield to NFL WRs in single coverage and hope they either catch it or get a pass interference call because the receiver has to slow down and wait on the ball and gets run over by a DB.
11/15/2022 9:29:05 AM
^ So you mean basically every p5 college football team's offensive game plan?got it.
11/15/2022 1:16:20 PM
I mean it's not our current offensive scheme. And most don't count on every >10 yard throw to be badly underthrown
11/15/2022 1:31:30 PM
Still ranked in CFP rankings, so still credible?
11/16/2022 12:48:55 PM
And this is what the CFP committee always does. We shouldn’t be ranked. But if we are ranked then it helps count as a good W for a Clemson and a quality L for FSU. And sets the stage for a potential good W for UNC. The back end of the rankings are always just teams slotted in for the justification of some higher ranked team. But sure. Being ranked is better than being unranked. So I’ll take it!
11/16/2022 1:15:04 PM
I feel the only reason we are ranked is because of where we were ranked before losing to BC along with the combination of a bunch of teams behind us with 3 losses also losing.
11/16/2022 3:31:29 PM
How has no one posted in this today? 3 game losing streak to end the season? Dumpster fire? I guess he has the excuse of injuries.
11/19/2022 11:10:04 PM
Do we want to fire him because Leary and Morris got hurt? I dunno…it sucks that the season started with so much hope and will end with a whimper and disappointment. But not many teams will look good when they’re down to the 3rd and 4th QBs
11/20/2022 7:21:39 AM
Yeah. The transfer portal makes having depth at any position difficult.
11/20/2022 10:08:06 AM
QB issues are just part of the problem, Leary wasn't actually killing it before he got injured. The whole offense has been dissappointing. Almost every game we get up by 2 possessions we go into ball control mode, but the problem is that hasn't worked at all because we can't really control the ball with our almost non-existent running game. But yeah I don't see us firing him, but I could see all the negativity from the fan base causing him to do a Sendek and leave for supposedly greener pastures.
11/21/2022 7:38:10 AM
The run game has been troubling. We struggled last year with Bam, Person, and a top 10 OL draft pick. And the run game struggles have continued this year.

11/21/2022 12:29:26 PM
I like Doeren just fine but lol at Nebraska hiring him. I can’t imagine they would be particularly excited about that. I think they’re aiming much higher and have a lotta money to throw at bigger name candidates
11/21/2022 12:38:58 PM
I mean Nebraska can try to get a big name candidate, but they will fail because everyone in the business knows that's about as terrible a job as there is.
11/21/2022 1:15:45 PM
Fan expectations are off there and the job is limiting, I don’t disagree. But it sounds like they have loads of money to spend…you start throwing around $8M/year and you can attract somebody[Edited on November 21, 2022 at 2:03 PM. Reason : Being in the B1G matters a lot ]
11/21/2022 2:02:53 PM
11/21/2022 2:41:38 PM
I have to think college sports will eventually adopt an injury report policy…similar to NFL and other pro sports. Especially as gambling is more and more prevalent. I get the attempted secrecy but i also roll my eyes big time at it.
11/21/2022 3:00:21 PM
Just say you're keeping it private for competitive advantage and I would roll my eyes way less
11/21/2022 3:01:16 PM
Just put out an injury report and have every single player on the roster listed as questionable
11/21/2022 3:03:54 PM
Lol. They’re all game time decisions[Edited on November 21, 2022 at 3:05 PM. Reason : Put Leary as doubtful for the hell of it]
