good stuff on PP based on tweets from Mark Armstrong at WTVD. bunch of emails talking about how Erskine Bowles has been coaching Thorp and Co. to act upset as news is released. Dick Baddour to be on 99.9 tomorrow afternoon. Possible stories on the horizon...

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=78&f=1408&t=6800893this thread is pretty funny...aside from everyone thinking Yates shouldve been 2nd team all ACC over Wilson (supposedly he outplayed him head to head this year...) they say something about State having a media darling on our team in Wilson...cause they never have any media darlings (like freshmen who are preseason all american basketball players for example)

Yeah I'm sure those guys are depressed. Marvin Austin was so sad he kept showing up to games in bright pink shirts and laughing like an idiot.
12/8/2010 6:42:50 PM
^^That really isn't a big deal
12/8/2010 6:50:25 PM
Really? Seems to me Pepper's academic advisor becoming his agent is a very short step to academic advisor = agent.

Yea. My dick doesn't get hard about players 10 years ago signing with their buddies. Show me some real dirt on current bbal players signing with agents/getting bennies and I'll jerk to that.

i still say it's bullshit that they will red-shirt guys from the academic probe who were actually guilty. complete and total bullshit. but hey, cheating must be The Carolina Way, i guess

i understand the question fine. Its just a stupid point. Seems to me like saying, "Good thing I'm going to prison. Now I can finally get in shape and do that reading I've been meaning to get to."
12/11/2010 3:53:17 PM
Considering they will have a bowl ban next year I don't think it matters. In fact those players better live it up this year because it might be the very last bowl they are going to get to participate in. I would feel bad for them if I didn't think the entire program athletic department was complicit.

I am trying to get that part straight. There were allegations, and I assume solid evidence that Ramsay had his paper written or edited by the 'tutor'... and UNC deemed he did not have to go to the Honor Court? WTF is that shit? Not only that, but he plays in 4 games and the NCAA will not punish UNC for playing an ineligible player. And they still have the balls to appeal?

The NCAA needs to bitch slap these pricks. Their response should be:"You know what we looked into the situation and we decided that you needed to vacate the wins that occurred while you were playing Ramsey. You have any other "appeals" you want to make?"

Today, I watched ESPN's 30 for 30 "Pony Exce$$" about when the NCAA gave SMU the death penalty.Man that would be so great if it were to happen with UNCheat, but in reality I know they will get off easier than they should and I'll be disappointed. The death penalty put SMU in the dumps in football for 30 years, and they aren't exactly a powerhouse now...

Pretty good article in the N&O today by DeCock
12/15/2010 7:52:19 AM
What I have come to love is the revisionist history that has become standard when talking about the UNC investigation. Their 2010 football team has gone from an upper-middle tier ACC team to an ACC title contender and (in some articles/blogs/message boards) a BCS championship darkhorse.

Given the egos that were suspended who knows. I could easily see the season unraveling because those idiots would be unwilling to play together and only thinking about getting their stats for the upcoming draft.

It's 11 am and that's the dumbest shit I've read all morningWho would win a bake-off between Ramses and Mr. Wuf[Edited on December 15, 2010 at 11:06 AM. Reason : hypothetical]
12/15/2010 11:06:00 AM
Probly MR. Wuf since Ramses only has hooves, it's hard for him to hold the cooking utensils.
12/15/2010 11:15:57 AM
As fun as the death penalty sounds, UNC is way off of the travesty that was SMU. I finally got around to watching Pony Exce$$ and they were busted for paying recruits even while on probation several times for paying recruits. That said, their first round of violations was no tv games or bowl games for 1 year. I doubt that'll happen with all the money involved in broadcasting these days, but I'll hope for the best/worst.
12/15/2010 11:17:27 AM
12/15/2010 11:32:38 AM
I think the hypothetical game is dumb no matter how you're doing itSo let's move on to this
12/15/2010 11:36:12 AM
Ha...well this one is from computer rankings, which is pretty ridiculous, but has UNC going undefeated:http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/analysis_acc.htmlAnd looking up articles usually had VT, GT, then UNC in the Coastal...but it was compiled with UNC getting it's share of #1 votes, which meant some writers had them at the top of the Coastal division. There were top 20 nationally in some preseason rankings...which is contending for a title in the ACC. With the exception of VT, most of the ACC teams were extremely overrated (and even Vtech might have been a little overrated considering some had them as a darkhorse national title contender).
12/15/2010 11:48:19 AM
hey quit bringing up what could've been for UNCactually...keep bringing it up...I want UNC fans to constantly be reminded of how much they fucked up what could've been
12/15/2010 2:13:39 PM
Well chances are the 'what could have been' never could have been if they hadn't been paying their players to come there in the first place [Edited on December 15, 2010 at 2:16 PM. Reason : could, cuz]
12/15/2010 2:16:07 PM
haha, ooooooooooo what could have been.....every single thread in IC on football usually gropes toward these "what ifs" and "what we had" etc.
12/15/2010 2:16:51 PM
^then it blames pretty much everything on blake or MAwhile they praise how much they look forward to having Butch back next year
12/15/2010 2:17:35 PM
12/15/2010 4:33:01 PM
yeah our division was definitely better throughout...UNC's division had the best team in the ACC...and thats about it...they also had powerhouses like Duke and Virginia! And teams that we beat like Georgia Tech and UNC!]
12/15/2010 5:01:56 PM
