I disagree a lot with:

Quote :
"Once he sees how good our backcourt is with Gonzalez, Mays, Brown, and Wood he'll probably realize we don't need him and back out."

1st off, Brown's natural position is the 2-guard, so he wouldn't necessarily take PT aay from him. He also has a family connection to Harrow (one of their mom's is the other's godmother).

2nd, Wood is supposedly adding bulk and with his height could easily play the 3 as a wing/shooting guard. Regardless, he's NOT playing at the 1. His shooting talents are much better suited for the 2 or 3.

3rd , Gonzo and Mays aren't in Harrow league. Not even close. Harrow is just that good. He won't need a guarantee of PT. At a school with NC State's current backcourt talent he will TAKE playing time. And as we've seen with Hickson, Lowe has no problem playing underclassmen provided they're the best guy for the job.

Quote :
"He isn't coming. He'll probably end up at Kentucky, and we'll get Cothron and Parker and be more happy"

Too early to tell with Leslie. A couple months ago State was coming off a disappointing finish to the season and was facing glaring talent deficiencies with three big contributors leaving/graduating. Now State has pulled a Top #15 recruiting class that address many of those holes. Better, the once unheralded Harrow has vaulted recruiting rankings and is now a Top 50 player.

Depending on how well the 09-10 season goes, anything is possible...

Shoulda read Stein's post closer. Point taken. I'll get my sarcasm detector inspected tomorrow and get back to you. Thank you all very much for you're concern. Nice to see TWWers looking out for each other!

But seriously State can still land Leslie. As hyped as the dude was getting (and as bad as State looked last season) it made perfect sense. Still, State just needs to have a decent season next year. That'll make landing Leslie, Cothron, Parker (etc) that much easier. And as much as State needs a true center/PF, it'd be nice to get a local guy, which would go a long way towards helping keep local recruits coming to Raleigh (and not the other 3 Tobacco Road schools).

Definitely random, but I found that tidbit in a WPH article and found it interesting. Harrow's connection to Brown is a small but comforting piece of insurance. Besides nobody except cynical State fans are even suggesting that he'd de-commit.

pretty sure there was nothing tentative about it, although he has yet to visit NCSU and he's not likely to commit to a school he hasn't visited

I believe he has an uncommittable offer, at least that's what I heard and what WPH said. Maybe we want him to visit first, or attend our elite camp. I'm sure if he was serious about State then he probably toured the campus on his own while down for the TOC. Aren't the coaches in a quiet period right now and can't have any contact with recruits?

may 21-30 is the current dead period

with the TOC going on you'd have to think he at least got a chance to check out the dail center.

Parker has retracted his earlier statement that he has an offer on the table according to PP. So this could be a true statement that if we were to offer that he would accept.

I think the issue here is, that our coaches want to do a little more scouting/research on Parker before offering. Also some feel that because of playing style that Parker and Leslie might be suited for the same position, so it might be a case where we take either Parker or Leslie and then pursue Cothron for our 3rd spot that many speculate will open up.

I expect that after some scouting and the coaches get to see more of Parker in camp or at tournaments, that he'll end up with a committable offer. Hopefully his bond with Harrow will really help and we can land him early to use he and Harrow in our recruiting for Cothron/Leslie.

I doubt you have the attention span to achieve a 6 paragraph rant.

Oh, and what's up with this Demarco Cox kid? Do we really need another center?

It's pronounced just like Michael. I know Maryland has been on him pretty hard, and that in one interview had a lot of praise for Gary Williams, even saying he was a legend.

The interview is on YouTube somewhere. He seemed like a nice guy, and was serious about academics. That was one of the biggest factors for him, besides the coaching staff. He also didn't seem like a prima donna that expected to be handed playing time just b/c he's got **** beside his name.
