I need to go back and rewatch. Is a Dothraki horde just loose in Westeros now?

It isn't true that people didn't like it because the ending didn't simply go how they wanted, or the person they liked died, or didn't die.It made no sense, and so many interesting aspects of the shows previous seasons turned out to be meaningless, or never addressed. If it was just a rushed or poor finale in terms of who won, or who died I think most would understand that they wish it was longer but sometimes shows rush to finish. In this case, the last season is so bad it really ruins the re-watchability of the show. Knowing how many aspects of the previous seasons turn out to really not matter makes it hard to ever want to go back and rewatch because you just sit there knowing it has no real direction to any of it.

Nobody is blaming the actual cast. They did a good job with what they had to work with, acting wise. It is the writing that was lacking.

Someone explain the purpose of the Lord of Light to me. Seriously, did this "god" exist just to counter the NK? If so how fucking dumb is that. So much effort was put into that god and it's followers. And why the build up about winter? Which ended up being a very short winter.
5/21/2019 12:56:21 PM
^Tyrion stated something along the lines of "don't worry about that, it'll only make your head hurt". That was the writers essentially saying "we're abandoning all of the Lord of Light and prophecy stuff in the show, deal with it."
5/21/2019 1:38:50 PM
Jon was brought back from the dead and hardly anybody ever even knew.Does anyone outside of the north know/believe what happened with NK?

^Melisandra also used the Lord of Light to light the pit around Winterfell during the battle.

Not only have D&D tainted my love of GOT but they also make me really really question their ability to write the upcoming Star Wars trilogy
5/21/2019 8:38:18 PM
So GoT was just to promote the democratic process!?. No wonder China didnt air it. That dragon pit meeting was just...terrible.
5/22/2019 12:09:34 AM
Wtf Bronn?
5/22/2019 12:19:48 AM
They didn't promote democratic process, they laughed at it

X-Men Origins: Wolverine had a lot of source material.

The Wire had the shittiest ending of all. The entire last season was awful.
5/22/2019 1:09:43 PM
The Wire last season plot line was the worst of the 5 seasons but there was still a ton of good stuff and the end was excellent.[Edited on May 22, 2019 at 3:08 PM. Reason : MY NAME IS MY NAME]
5/22/2019 3:05:16 PM
the ending of the Wire was perfect for the show, as it showed that the problems in Baltimore were self-sustaining. Michael turns into the next Omar, Dukie turns into Bubbles, the "Greeks" continue supplying dope to any dealer that survives, the political machine keeps churning, and the next man up deals on the corner where the former dealer got murdered. For all the effort that law enforcement, schools, and politicians put into trying to clean up the city over five seasons, nothing was any different.
5/22/2019 3:23:25 PM
Talk about showing The Wheel!
5/22/2019 3:51:38 PM
Sadly all that development has done nothing to make it a decent place to be.

I'll take Baltimore over Raleigh any day. The problems of a few square miles of this city don't detract from all the other great things about this area.
5/23/2019 10:53:50 AM
did somebody make a Baltimore/Raleigh comparison?
5/23/2019 2:16:20 PM
Does Tyrion assume the Lannister debt for hiring the Golden Company?
5/23/2019 3:06:27 PM
^Or does he get a refund because they were terrible and not nearly as good as advertised?
5/23/2019 3:22:15 PM
What is even left of the Golden Company? Not like they'd be able to come after him. If some random dude knocked on my door and was like "Hey your sister owed me a shitload of money. She's dead now so you owe me the money." I'd tell him to fuck off.
5/24/2019 10:10:49 AM
It's the iron bank. The question is did cersei pay in advance or not
5/24/2019 10:27:10 AM
The Golden Company definitely has elephants...somewhere, haha.
5/24/2019 11:17:45 AM
^^She paid the old debt by sacking High Garden then took out additional loans to hire the Golden Company. No way the Iron Bank just lets that go and they have the faceless men right down the street.
5/28/2019 10:58:03 AM
I mean, if someone has no heirs, no spouse, and no personal belongings(her entire kingdom was rubble), not really sure the Iron Bank has much foot to stand on there in trying to collect from her brother who is now the Hand of the King. Iron Bank made a bad investment on Cersei and she lost, doubt they can collect on anything.I also imagine the Iron Bank is going to want to have good relations with the new King, and attacking the Hand or demanding payment probably isn't the best way to facilitate that.
5/28/2019 11:32:46 AM
^^right but did the iron bank actually pay anything out or not. Does gold comp get paid in advance? If not, did IB give cersei the coin or like a "we'll pay" note. Also doesn't IB often use GC to pay debts. What good will a faceless man do? Kill Tyrion? Kill bran?
5/28/2019 11:58:45 AM
Could potentially back usurper or just write off the loss. Just seemed odd we saw literally none of them after what a force they were built up to be.

Looks like the Prequel is dead in the water, at least at HBO. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/29/game-of-thrones-prequel-pilot-not-picked-up-by-hbo.html

when I’m able to make out what’s going on on the screen, I’m really digging House of the Dragon
10/3/2022 1:06:47 PM
Yeah last night's episode was a turning point for me.
10/3/2022 1:35:27 PM
this week's episode was fantastic. I love the rapid pace of the story. Looks like another time jump next week.
10/4/2022 8:07:39 AM
I really don't understand the use of darkness in this show. This episode was good, still not quite S1-5 of GoT level but definitely in that S6-7 level.
10/4/2022 10:38:52 AM
This episode was really the only one that I was bothered by the lighting. The one where they went out onto the street of silk was also quite dark, but I thought that one fit thematically since it who knows what is happening in the shadows and when things got close they were brightly lit by torchlight. This one was just people standing on a beach, there’s no reason for us to not be able to see anything.
10/5/2022 3:40:46 PM
10/5/2022 7:24:09 PM
I actually used these scenes to recalibrate my television. It's still dark, but it was good for me getting between the balance of seeing what I need to see not having the characters look washed out in some scenes with low lighting.
10/11/2022 12:29:48 PM
This show is really damn good.
10/11/2022 4:00:13 PM
Last 2 episodes set up Season 2 nicely.Has it been said how far they are going to take this show. Are they going all the way up to the death of Aerys II (The Mad King)? My one complaint is it seemed like Vhagar's size changed a lot. In the Finale he was insanely large compared to Arrax. I realize he is one of the orginal 3 but just seemed like he was much bigger than when we last saw him.
10/24/2022 9:03:38 AM
I haven't heard how far it will go up but they plan on doing 4 seasons of 10 episodes each.
10/24/2022 9:06:47 AM
In theory they could make it that far in timeline, can't imagine that the battle for the Iron Throne between Rhaenyra's side and Alicent's side will take 10 episodes next season.
10/24/2022 11:45:25 AM
You would imagine they go up to Jon Snow's birth?
10/25/2022 9:04:19 AM
I absolutely would not imagine that, thats 200 years of show. I don't want to Google books I haven't read and get spoilers but I think this show will go through the end of this war.Took 10 eps just to get the war started. [Edited on October 25, 2022 at 9:17 AM. Reason : R]
10/25/2022 9:16:04 AM
We are already at least 30-40 years into the future. It's not that hard to imagine. Aerys II is the king at the beginning of GOT so who knows.
