^^The man is obviously a dolt. But come on, he's smart enough to know not to mess with campaign finance laws. No way, with all of his personal money, that he used campaign funds to pay for an abortion. That's why I think all of this energy being spent to try and uncover some campaign rule violation is just a waste of time. He's smarter than that. He's got to be.

Wonder how the robust GDP number affects midterms? It’s a good number (4.1) and no one really looks down the road at the abysmal projected growth through 2020.(Also, imagine how great it would be to be a GOP pol who can rant and rave about deficits while in opposition and then pivot to reckless short-term growth fiscal policy while in power all while having a feckless media and Democrat party who can’t figure out how to call it out).[Edited on July 27, 2018 at 8:38 AM. he was coordinating with his consigliere, not keeping track of on the books paymentsbut in regards to on the books payments remember that the New York AG forced the Trump Foundation to shut down because of, among other things, "failure to follow basic fudiciary obligations" - he's not smart enough to care about moving money properly and do you not remember the handwritten note Trump wrote instructing someone to pay a lawsuit settlement from the trump foundation? He's not even smart enough to not leave a written record!

Why/how is someone like this POTUS?Trump claims Americans need ID to go shoppinghttps://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45034092

I find that these days, I'm rarely asked for an ID when I buy alcohol. I do get asked for ID frequently when using my card though.
8/2/2018 10:10:23 AM
I have never been asked for an ID when using a card
8/2/2018 11:28:22 AM
I must look sketch.I've been asked for ID when I go to Food Lion. The cashiers at the HT I frequent know me now, so they usually don't.While I find it odd that we don't have to provide an ID when we vote, I'll concede that setting up a system to ensure people have an ID would be a little on the costly side.
8/2/2018 11:39:31 AM
The core problem with voter ID laws isn't the concept of requiring an IDIt's that these laws typically block common forms of ID like student IDs, don't allow expired drivers licenses, and usually have things packed in their like reducing voting locations from student/black areas, curtailing weekend voting, reducing early voting, eliminating same-day registration, and probably other nefarious things I can't even imagine, that has the result of suppressing usually minority voters.Calling them "voter ID laws" is propaganda, they do a lot more than require an ID to vote.[Edited on August 2, 2018 at 11:43 AM. I'm just for showing an ID when you vote. All that other BS about reducing locations, etc, are just ways to reduce turnout, which is wrong.

Normally cashiers in nyc ask if the purchase is something more than lunch or shit at Walgreens.
8/2/2018 4:06:17 PM
Is that only when purchasing with a card or is that cash as well?
8/2/2018 4:26:32 PM
^^ this happens to you? I can't remember the last time I was asked for my ID when paying with credit card, certainly not since the swipe to chip switch
8/2/2018 4:42:22 PM
Since the chip came around it’s reduced significantly. Still, for large purchase I’d rather someone ask to see if the name on the card matches an ID. [Edited on August 2, 2018 at 4:45 PM. Reason : Yy]
8/2/2018 4:42:27 PM
They ask for id at the abc store on 70 in garner if you are paying with a card to make sure the names match, but that’s the only one where I’ve experienced it
8/2/2018 4:47:06 PM
Don't think I've ever had to show ID when using a card.

8/2/2018 6:30:28 PM
When I'm at the self checkout I call somebody over to make sure they check my ID

https://twitter.com/strongernc/status/1025050079378460674?s=21Just a reminder getting an ID isn’t always a super simple process, especially harder for people with jobs that don’t give them time off, or without good transport[Edited on August 2, 2018 at 8:39 PM. Reason : ]
8/2/2018 8:39:33 PM
^ agreed. The NYC ID card is fairly easy to get and gives you access to museums for free and various discounts. It is sufficient as an ID in the city. It’s a nice alternative for people.
8/2/2018 8:43:47 PM
I wonder if people got this worked up over needing an ID to buy a gun, drive a car, or go fishing when those rules were first implemented.
8/2/2018 9:19:08 PM
Why can't have the US have some sort of national ID card which the government will freely issue to all citizens above a certain age (18, I suppose)? They have those in many countries, and they are your proof that you are a citizen of the country, and have to show it to vote.Is there some argument against that which I don't see?
8/2/2018 9:25:46 PM
People still get worked up over that shit.
