The saga of John Wall may be ending, or it could be more bs....http://slamonline.com/online/college-hs/college/2009/05/breaking-news-john-wall-to-kentucky/

do they have enough schollys?seems like they were banking on more attrition to for callip to pull in his recruits.
5/19/2009 7:26:04 AM
It still amazes me that people can fool themselves into thinking top quality basketball players would EVER want to come to NC State.
5/19/2009 7:58:09 AM
Julius Hodge came and he was what a Top 5 recruit? Damien Wilkins was #1 overall by some scouting services. JJ Hickson was #10 overall in the Rivals 150. So please STFU about elite ranked players not wanting to play for NC State.
5/19/2009 8:13:10 AM
^^ nobody here or anywhere for that matter thinks we can get a class full of 5 star prospects in the current status of our program. But We certainly can, and have had a few here and there as ^ pointed out.
5/19/2009 8:19:33 AM
If we land Cothron, who seems to really like Lowe, then we'll have the #9 ranked player and the #25 ranked player (Harrow) according to Rivals in the 2010 class.[Edited on May 19, 2009 at 8:25 AM. Reason : 10]
5/19/2009 8:25:16 AM
I, for one, am glad that we did in fact NOT land John Wall. Early on I'll admit I was all for it, but he turned into a drama queen and I really don't think that would have been good for the chemistry of this team. We got Painter who I'm THRILLED about, we needed front court help much more than we needed a one-and-done PG. Now we'll have some experience all over the court for when Harrow and presumably one more top-flight player(Parker, Cothron, Leslie) arrive.Wall would have helped us win some more games this year, sure. But in the long-run I'd rather let the others get better, give Brown some time at point perhaps, and then the next year have Harrow come in and run the point with Javi backing him up. And I truly think that Harrow is going to slide up the rankings even more, ESPECIALLY if he gains 1-2 inches and gains some weight, because his only knock that I've seen is size. This ship is going to take more than a year to right itself(yes if we had landed Favors and Wall presumably we'd be a legit contender this year, but we didn't, so we move on). This year will be about getting this great recruiting class experience. I think we'll take some great strides in the next 2 seasons. Just have to hope those strides are enough to appease the masses, because I don't see an ACC title but I do see a much more competitive team in the near future.

Like I said on Page 114.

Despite an online report that John Wall committed to Kentucky Monday night, Wall says it isn’t true.“No,” he wrote in a text message Tuesday morning.Sources at Kentucky confirmed that he hadn’t yet chosen a school.“We haven’t heard that yet,” a source said.As I previously reported, Wall, a 6-foot-4 point guard ranked the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2009, is believed to be down to Kentucky and Miami and will choose between those two schools. His advisor, Brian Clifton, told SI.com that Duke was also still an option.“John wants to make the best decision for him,” Clifton said. “I think John should concentrate on getting all the information he needs and getting as good a read on the situation as he can.”http://www.zagsblog.com/

I, on the other hand, am a recruiting genius. Cothron will be joining Harrow, and if Lowe can find room, Parker will too.]

5/19/2009 10:03:48 AM
Sidney Lowe is killing this program!
5/19/2009 10:19:28 AM
A class of Harrow, Parker, Cothron/Leslie would easily be Top 5 in my opinion, but we'd probably get screwed by the scouts. All of them are 5* players on at least one of the sites.
5/19/2009 10:19:39 AM
bullet you don't know. "Momma ain't raised no foolPut me anywhere on God's green earth, I'll triple my worthMotherfucker - I, will, not, lose"You don't know.. what you're doing, doing, doing, doing.."Put somethin on itI sell ice in the winter, I sell fire in hellI am a hustler baby, I'll sell water to a well"i'm special, not in the special ed kind of way, but in the I have a giant ego and won't let myself believe anything less. it will happen mark it down. when have i been wrong?

5/19/2009 10:41:43 AM
i'd lol even more if we managed to knock them out of the NIT/NCAA tourney.
5/19/2009 10:47:56 AM
4^ Yeah I'd love to land Parker, Cothron/Leslie to go along with Harrow, but the numbers don't work out unless someone decides to leave the team which is possible. After adding Painter we will only have one scholarship for next season other than Harrow so I imagine Sidney's mentality is, take the first one of those 3 to commit. Personally I'd like to keep our current bigs now that we have some youth and depth and maybe add a Parker who Harrow has experience playing with that can give us some athleticism at the 3.PG - HarrowSG - BrownSF - ParkerPF - PainterC - SmithNow that would be one heck of a starting 5 for us.
5/19/2009 10:51:13 AM
^we'd be talking final 4 with that squad
5/19/2009 10:53:09 AM
5/19/2009 10:54:53 AM
As good as Parker is, I don't think he'd be able to knock out C.J. Williams, who would be a junior by then. What I'm beginning to wonder is how ol Roy Boy is going to handle all of those PFs that he's got for next year. They have Thompson and Davis that will start, then Zeller, the Wear twins, and Henson. The only way I think Roy would keep them all happy would be by playing three PFs next year similar to how we did this year. There are obvious advantages and disadvantages to running with three bigs.
5/19/2009 11:00:35 AM
Roy thinks that Henson can play the 3
5/19/2009 11:03:20 AM
LudaChris don't worry about there not being enough scholarships. Attrition happens. Especially on teams with too much competition at every spot. People transfer, injuries occur, players are put on academic scholarship instead of athletic.
5/19/2009 11:10:40 AM
There's a pretty good chance that we take a 3 man 2010 class
5/19/2009 11:20:02 AM
I agree. Word is the extra scholarship would come from Johnny Thomas. Apparently he has a very high GPA and could qualify for a full academic scholarship.
5/19/2009 11:21:55 AM
He could get a hardship scholly anyway if his knee doesn't get better. his knee condition would definitely qualify
5/19/2009 11:22:52 AM
im so glad this is over; tired of reading about it

^^I'll admit it. I wasn't overly pumped when we got Painter. But reading more about this kid, and how he plans to approach college b-ball, you can't help but get excited. This is a guy with all the potential in the world ... just needs someone to coach him up. Also, I think going against Smith, Howell, and JV everyday will do wonders for him. ^And no. Funny, but no.
5/19/2009 1:48:52 PM
I think the year at Hargrave really helped him. Being in a military environment can make one lead a very disciplined life even after they leave it.
