You can though. Obviously i am the biggest Beverly hater here, but Harris was a whole other league of bad. It doesn't matter how good a defender a PG is when he constantly turns the ball over on the other end. It was obvious why Harris never got minutes here (or at missouri). I mean he's averaging 3.4 turnovers (to 2.3 assists) at A&T this year. Every year he's turned the ball over on ~25% of his possessions. That's incredibly bad.

We won the battle tonight of who could suck less! What a sloppy game. Daniels played great and if he is gone we are looking at a long rest of the season. Hellems hit a few big shots. I didn’t understand why once Daniels went out of the game and we couldn’t score Funderburk was stuck on the bench for so long?? If Daniels is out we are gonna need Funderburk to pick up the scoring.

Of course BB played the point some. But he was not the primary PG on that team. That’s part of why he played more minutes. In theory, he can handle the ball to give Markell (or this year, the freshmen) a break and then when a true PG is in, he can play off the ball. Obviously we all agree that he doesn’t exactly do those things well. But I don’t think it’s a giant mystery why he plays when he does. For example, in that ‘18-19 season with Harris on the team, BB was basically the only shooter we had (yes, I know he was never Ralston Turner or Scott Wood). Markell shot well, but he couldn’t play off the ball. Bryce was solid from 3, but was better putting the ball on the floor.

He played 19 mins last night. He had 0 turnovers. He brought little to the table for those 19 minutes, so don’t confuse this as me thinking BB is great. Allen, on the other hand, played 25 minutes and had 3 turnovers and shot 2/8.

I think it’s perfectly acceptable that BB plays around 15-25 mpg this year depending on the situations he (and the team) is in. I’m not arguing that he’s awesome. He’s not.

I’m not sure how me sitting on the couch has more situational awareness than the players there. I was yelling at the screen for bates not to foul.

It’s time to turn the ball over to Hayes and shak and go through the growing pains. They barely played in the second half and while they were a bit sloppy when they were in (I’m sure that’s why they were in the Keatts doghouse), we have seen the mediocrity Allen and Beverly are getting us. Keatts can blame the losses on covid and Daniels getting injured and we can be better prepared for next year. Who knows, maybe we get some surprises from the young guys in the meantime.

Hellems and Bates played great tonight.

Also bad by Seabron to play good defense at the end and with a few seconds left on the shot clock he fouls and the shot clock reset so we had to then foul like 5 times in a row. Need to see more time for Cam and Moore, even if they do commit some dumb turnovers sometimes where they throw it right to the other team. Wonder if Funderburk tried to drive on campus with a boot on his car again? Overall better game than I was expecting, glad we fought.

Overall thought we played good with our 2 best players out.

But man I was swearing like a sailor and punching couch pillows when Seabron committed that foul. Just unbelievably dumb. I heard Keatts say play it straight up but maybe he needed to be more clear and say (DO NOT FOUL). And maybe he did say it and we couldn't tell from the TV.

We played well in the first half. As has become a pattern with this team, we are either running out of gas, or are not reacting well to other teams' adjustments in the second half (probably it's both). Either way, not a great look for Keatts.

I know it's only 2 games charted, but that seems to pass the eyeball test (assuming we are that tiny red dot next to ND).

We have above average shooters, but our offense doesn't result in them taking good, set and open shots most of the time. Maybe even BB good be useful if we could get him some open 3s.

Virginia live off points inside the arc. I bet they get those against us.

They do shoot threes. That's our main weakness defensively.

Defensively they are solid.

They are moderately tall and have lots of depth.

I like UVA vs the spread. This has all the makings of a 30 point game that might only be a 25 point spread.
