The NFL is a marketing organization. Your ability is secondary to your marketability. He shit on his fellow Americans (many of his fans) by standing up for silly shit. He will have to settle for no job or a worse compensation schedule for damaging his marketability. In real simple terms if you are the fastest cheeseburger maker at mcdonalds and therefore make more than other line workers but you decide to deuce on a burger you cant expect to get rehired at the same rate pre deuce incident. You are still the fastest but no one trusts you to not shit on a customers burger. You fucked up and now move back to minimum wage. His stats are a fact and the NFLs viewership are a more important fact to the bottom line. Its like saying osama bin laden was the best QB to sling a football so why can he not demand Aaron Rogers pay. Quite simply because we can sell more ads with Rogers flinging the ball because half of our market doesn't despise him.[Edited on November 24, 2019 at 11:12 AM. Reason : .]

TIL standing up against police brutality and racism is comparable to shitting on peoples food.

Know your market. Know your role. If he wants to be a political activist it affects his marketability. When you wear cops are pigs socks and you hit a knee during our national anthem there are consequences. I dont like police per se.. i dont like a lot of things. But i know my marketability will be vastly hurt if i decide activism is more important and wear a I hate Pigs and the united states tie to work. We all make choices when we gear up. Those choices come with consequences.

Why? Their goal is to sell ads. That is primary. To do so they hire talent. Without either they fail. But their main focus is sales. If you are a great player but not marketable you do not fit the bill. How is that wrong? From their linkedin:“ The NFL is a world class brand marketing organization and we believe that each team member makes a significant contribution to our overall success. “[Edited on November 24, 2019 at 12:06 PM. So their collateral damage is less. To say my post calling them a marketing agency when they define theirselves as such should not be “the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard”? Im not saying that its bad to have activist ideals. Hopes for change. Im only saying when you want to be the frontman of a large organization that is marketing based, you will suffer from when you ignore basic facts. The NFL is 68% african american and pays very well. Its hardly racist. But the viewership loves america and the NFL. So when a player decides to shit on both.. the NFL has to see that as a liability to their marketing.

This is a for profit marketing firm. He is a decent QB. He is horrible for publicity and sales. This is a marketing and sales decision and there are better options. He would need better stats to have people turn a blind eye and say we will take the hit on 50% of our viewership hating the decision. Especially in a world of a sea of equally talented players that havent made theirselves toxic by deciding they want to be politicians and activists instead of football players. FACT: When players started kneeling and protesting the anthem viewership fell. FACT: Kap started this nonsense FACT: NFL is a self proclaimed marketing company. If i were a franchise owner i wouldnt want the risk of a decent QB that has a bad rep dragging down my sales when there is a pool of non toxic choices that are potentially as good.
11/24/2019 5:33:50 PM
Also, this isnt about whos lives matter its a business decision. Green backs matter. And re nike: they have a diffent target market than the NFL. some folks may fit the bill for their image that dont for NFL. You may as well compare nascar viewership to nhl and then jump both to addidas sales. All unrelated but still in the sports arena right?

It's good to just restate your initial argument argument when you have no response to counterpoints

What vital counterpoint was not addressed?

quiksilver is acting like if the Bengals signed Kaepernick, half the fans of the other 31 teams would stop watching the NFL as a whole.

Oh another thing, you're basically arguing that the NFL IS colluding?

Just saying take the scenario where you are interviewing candidates. Both are equal and one has a history of rubbing half of your client base the wrong way. Which one do you pick?

oh yeah, i'm sure people streaming online instead of watching on tv has nothing to do with every single sport's TV ratings declining over the last few years. must just be kaep.^by the way, you must not have even opened the images in that tweet you quoted, since they directly contradict the point you're trying to make

I agree! Regardless, as to my point, his stance about some hypothetical person not being able to go to whatever place of business as a primary concern right now, likely indicate his stance on Kap has not softened! At ease. Carry on.
