Signed Hibbert and sessions. Bench took a big hit this offseason. Trading Lin and Jefferson for sessions and hiibbert is yuck

Does anything Eastern Conference related even matter at this point? Wow, Hornets have filled in some bench holes with key role players, we can really compete with GS now!

Guys, we aren't the best team in the NBA. It was a good run, but let's fold up the franchise and go home.Tree, hit the lights on your way out.

Nice marvin deal.So we've got four of our starting 5 locked up to very reasonable deals. We will have an awful lot of cap space next offseason with all these expiring deals. We should try to put together a package for an elite center and a top flight 6th man. Instead of all of these medium scrubs on our bench

Sessions is basically Lin on the offensive end -- he's great at penetrating and drawing fouls and can take over if needed. Pretty weak defensively, but he's also a fraction of the cost, so low-risk ok-reward.Hibbert is slow as hell but a good rim protector and is only two years removed from being an all star. With all the offensive guys we have now (Marco, Sessions, Lamb, etc), you need someone to defend the rim -- and he was All NBA Defense in 2014. Again, low risk, decent reward. Not a bad job of filling holes with decent players. But it's still hard to get excited about anything we did this offseason. Oh well. At least MKG is coming back.[Edited on July 6, 2016 at 2:19 AM. Reason : ]

B- offseason for the Hornets.Needed to resign Batum and glad they were able to save $30 mil per year off his max. Also good to get Marvin back. But both these guys are coming off career years and I'm not sure they'll be worth their deals during the last year of their contracts, but the market forced our hand.Going from Jefferson, Lin, Lee to Hibbert, Sessions, Belineli is a definite downgrade. But we got Lee and Lin cheap last year, and the wheels are falling off Jefferson. My big complaint is trading the draft pick. I know a 22nd overall pick is unlikely to become a star, but guys have hit in that range. And the contracts for them are so cheap that it's worth the risk. Especially for a team like Charlotte, which pretty much has to build through the draft. This team is once again likely to be 5th-8th in the East with the conference semis being the ceiling. I guess that's better than where we were 5 years ago, though you don't want to stay in the middle for too long if you're a small market NBA team.

They must give big expectation for MKG and Lamb.

Just be thankful the Panthers are relevant. Most of the other 25 or so irrelevant NBA franchises can't say that about their local NFL team if they have one.

I eyewitnessed Tyler Hansbrough last Sunday btw. Dude is back to Chapel Hill. Found him at the Whole Foods off Franklin Street. He was with his gf probably.

The last season with Hornets is definitely a turning point for Lin. He bounced back from a nightmare year with the Lakers and starts a whole new era of his NBA career. Charlotte provided with him such a warm place and a big stage and now he went back to NY. I think he took advantage from us.[Edited on July 6, 2016 at 3:32 PM. Reason : 2M/yr may be little but he has a decent chance to attend the all-star game next yr too.]

Someone should start a new thread for the next season now.
