I predict that a lot of TWWers (and fans) will hate it, regardless of what it is.

Why don't we have our own brainstorming of ideas?

Even if we had been good I would've hated the slogan. Say we had gone 3-1 against Wake, UNC, Duke and ECU during FB season and you still have to deal with the "This is Our State" stuff after the one loss.

Cause for celebration.

It's the small victories... unlike conference in-state games.

hypothetical question, but an interesting thought exercise.

if you could pick right now, would you take Amato as coach, without Rivers. Or Paul Johnson as coach with Rivers

Here's Tennessee's SEC record the last three years:

2011 1-7

because they are both still alive and we are talking about if you had the chance now, which would you want for coach at NC State for 2014, which is the thread topic.

It was a deep, thought provoking question, why troll?

Half the responders would probably say "The choice without Amato"

and the other half would probably say "The choice with Rivers"

As horrible as Amato was...I'd never want Paul Johnson as a coach. Fuck that triple option bullshit.

Read the question einstein. Johnson would have had Olin Hannum running the triple option here.

And still...fuck the triple option.

Let's do an objective schedule breakdown:

W - 8/30/14 vs. Georgia Southern - Wolfpack Club Day TV Raleigh, N.C.
W - 09/06/14 vs. Old Dominion - Ag Day/CALS Tailgate TV Raleigh, N.C.
W - 09/13/14 at South Florida Tampa, Fla.
W - 09/20/14 vs. Presbyterian - Parents & Families Day Raleigh, N.C.
L - 09/27/14 vs. Florida State * Raleigh, N.C.
L - 10/04/14 at Clemson * Clemson, S.C.
W - 10/11/14 vs. Boston College - Hall of Fame Day/All Sports Reunion * Raleigh, N.C
L - 10/18/14 at Louisville * Louisville, Ky
W - 11/01/14 at Syracuse * Syracuse, N.Y.
W - 11/08/14 vs. Georgia Tech - Homecoming * Raleigh, N.C
W - 11/15/14 vs. Wake Forest - Military Appreciation Day * Raleigh, N.C.
L -11/29/14 at North Carolina * Chapel Hill, N.C.

8-4, I'll take it. Syracuse is a toss up, GT too, so could be 10-2, or 6-6

We don't win in-conference road games. No to Syracuse. Probably no to GT as well, because we don't win games with actual stakes at play (like homecoming games that might make us bowl eligible).

^^ I think anywhere from 6-8 wins is reasonable. 10 wins is definitely a stretch unless Brisset is an absolute monster. I don't see any reason why a bowl game and winning record is an unreasonable expectation this year. The schedule isn't too bad. Clemson and FSU are obviously gonna be huge favorites against us. But the rest of the ACC aren't exactly world beaters. With good QB play we can be alright this year

I know last year was utterly disappointing and embarrassing. But we were in a lot of games despite having shitty QB play and having a pretty bad team. Unless Brisset is just as bad as Thomas/Mitchell, we should win enough games to go bowling.

he's been here one year. it's far too early to apply a label like that to him.

o'brien, on the other hand, won one division road game during his coaching tenure here, often losing to inferior teams within the division on the road. his only win in the division on the road was in his last year when maryland doinked the winning chipshot field goal off the upright as time expired.

[Edited on June 6, 2014 at 1:41 PM. Reason : didn't deserve to win the one he got]

BIG HIT TO WR CORPS

Quote :
"NC State transfer heads to Georgia

With all the attrition Georgia has faced this offseason, there’s some good news: the Bulldogs are receiving an addition to the team.

NC State wide receiver transfer Charlie Hegedus will enroll at Georgia, according to 247Sports. He’ll be able to play immediately because of a waiver already received. The 6-2, 210-pound pass catcher caught nine passes for 116 yards and one touchdown in 2012, but he caught just one pass for -1 yards in 2013.

The Bulldogs’ receiving corps is loaded with talent, and Hegedus may have trouble finding the field this season. However, he could be an important player next year.

Hegedus went to the same high school as quarterback Hutson Mason, and the two are reuniting once again."
