I couldn't watch the first half but from what I saw of the last 30 mins it didn't feel like Gerrard was in the game. Was he that invisible all game? Liverpool basically has the perfect setup for him at this point in his career but he seemed totally lost for England.
6/15/2014 7:48:25 AM
Where are the Welbeck haters now? Sterling and Welbeck were fantastic yesterday. Rooney was the big disappointment in the second half. Play like this against Uruguay and we will win.
6/15/2014 8:44:22 AM
Welp, I was right with this one. Tomorrow, I am going for a 2-1 Portugal upset over the Deutsches. To me, they are going to struggle without the attacking presence of Reus against the Portugal D. Who is gonna step up in the game? Götze? Özil?
6/15/2014 8:47:59 AM
Like a boss
6/15/2014 9:38:37 AM
That would suck for is if portugal wins
6/15/2014 11:12:29 AM
Ants are attacking the stadium!
6/15/2014 12:37:02 PM
I'm wondering if this ref knows the rules about handball in the penalty area.
6/15/2014 12:48:27 PM
Yay the ref bones Switzerland again.
6/15/2014 1:29:57 PM
another awesome game. This World Cup is shitting all over 2010
6/15/2014 1:51:01 PM
nice last minute turn for the swiss
6/15/2014 1:51:34 PM
Wow there goes the first big ending probably deserved the 3 points there Ecuador blew it at the end and payed for it
6/15/2014 1:52:23 PM
Ecuador guy should have shot off the first touch
6/15/2014 2:01:06 PM
Why are there no cars in the parking lot outside that stadium? Can't believe Ecuador screwed around with that last possession. The soccer gods gifted you a great shot on goal at the last minute and you didn't take it. Then, for spurning them they turned around and punished you for not doing so. Game over man, game over.
6/15/2014 2:04:16 PM
^5, ^^
6/15/2014 2:05:55 PM
^^Security measures. Check my pic above.
6/15/2014 2:14:07 PM
Go Honduras!France deserves it for not starting Kos.Good decision not to start old stone feet, Giroud though (no bias here).
6/15/2014 2:37:40 PM
I hope Sakho scores a hat trick. But seriously, I'd like CONCACAF teams to do well, aside from Mexico. I hate when people cheer for ACC in bowl games & NCAA tournaments but for some reason I have that mentality for the WC.
6/15/2014 2:53:29 PM
The mentality actually holds water in the World Cup. Your confederation performing well could eventually increase your number of spots in the final. Yeah, it'll take awhile, but there's actual benefits to confederation performance.
6/15/2014 3:11:00 PM
yeah that is trueI like these French jerseys. Would look good for the US
6/15/2014 3:13:21 PM
It's a matter of time before one of these goes in for France... too many good crosses.
6/15/2014 3:24:24 PM
Surely red for Pogba?[Edited on June 15, 2014 at 3:27 PM. Reason : actually really for both...OK with yellows each]
6/15/2014 3:26:15 PM
nah I agree with Keller. Not enough in that to be red
6/15/2014 3:27:34 PM
I will say these central American teams don't capitulate like the small UEFA countries...
6/15/2014 3:31:33 PM
6/15/2014 3:35:15 PM
Welp, this is going to turn into a route for France after that pk and red.
6/15/2014 3:43:33 PM
Idiot.
6/15/2014 3:43:46 PM
Well this game is pretty much over now... stupid France!
6/15/2014 3:44:28 PM
Fuck pogba
6/15/2014 3:44:52 PM
The amount of laying on the fucking ground in this game IS TOO DAMN HIGH.
6/15/2014 3:47:36 PM
Lol at that Evra dive...
6/15/2014 3:49:08 PM
France-Honduras is killing my buzz. Hopefully Argentina-BIH will get it back.[Edited on June 15, 2014 at 3:58 PM. Reason : .]
6/15/2014 3:57:37 PM
that "goal-line" technology looked like horseshit to me... to me the ball did not look totally over the line to me
6/15/2014 4:09:34 PM
Almost every angle looks like no goal but guess we have to rely on the goal line technology on things that close that's what it's there for.
6/15/2014 4:10:16 PM
It was definitely really close. I think the whole ball was across right as the keeper got a hand to it.
6/15/2014 4:10:40 PM
Benzema >>>>>>>>>> GiroudNever understood Deschamps obsession with starting Giroud.
6/15/2014 4:34:41 PM
https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/478281466988986370/photo/1Sahko 96% pass completion today
6/15/2014 5:13:10 PM
Well that didn't take long...
6/15/2014 6:03:22 PM
there was one angle they showed that you could definitely see that it was over the line.
6/15/2014 6:06:14 PM
that ball was definitely over the line. Goal line tech works. 4 years too late, thanks FIFA.- Disgruntled England fanThis World Cups start has been great, even Germany wasn't this good. Very entertaining matches and aside from Honduras and Greece most teams have shown up. Can't wait for the Germany-Portugal and USA - Ghana match. [Edited on June 15, 2014 at 6:46 PM. Reason : .]
6/15/2014 6:44:25 PM
Shame they had the own goal otherwise Bosnia has played fairly well
6/15/2014 6:47:54 PM
Pretty boring first half. Hopefully Argentina can get going next half, but I'm not really expecting much from them this tournament, to be honest.[Edited on June 15, 2014 at 6:50 PM. Reason : ]
6/15/2014 6:49:47 PM
Messi has given it away trying to dribble through traffic a half dozen times. Argentina has zero creativity through the midfield so he's lying way too deep to get the ball. Is Di Maria even playing?
6/15/2014 6:51:10 PM
THERE he is. That's the Messi we all see at Barça
6/15/2014 7:24:22 PM
Nice control but they didn't even bother mentioning it only went in due to a deflection the original shot was going to miss wide.
6/15/2014 7:28:23 PM
Group f is such a joke
6/15/2014 7:48:25 PM
Kind of weird how everybody roots for Messi on Argentina like he's some kind of underdog.
6/15/2014 7:56:19 PM
^There are some people like that, and just as many who are like "only 1 goal?" this guy is overrated." There was zero danger from Argentina without Messi today. Thought Bosnia looked very solid and had the right approach with swarming Messi as he got into the attacking third. Made Messi drop deeper and deeper, isolating Kun from the rest of the team.
6/15/2014 10:31:37 PM
^^Well, from a certain perspective, he is. He's trying to become the Greatest Footballer of All Time (which kinda makes him an underdog, since he's challenging Pele and Maradona, who are legends); and to do that he needs to perform well at this World Cup. So lots of people are rooting for him to really shine, to bolster his greatest of all time claims. This is probably all obvious to you. And I get what you're saying: it's pretty silly to see people treating him like some chronic underachiever who's finally, finally starting to work hard and fulfill his potential. But rooting for Messi as an underdog is not entirely ridiculous. Also, my favorite goal so far is Van Persie's header.[Edited on June 15, 2014 at 11:41 PM. Reason : wefqtgqwe4]
