Your chase runner up
9/11/2013 9:36:25 PM
i've got this one. my dad gave it to me several years ago. it'll hold every car and their backup channel, all the race control channels, MRN, etc. you can also switch it to nationwide, trucks, ARCA, and Indy line-ups. it'll hold all of them in memory. i usually print a frequency list for the new season and program it on the way to the track if i don't have to drive. it'll also search for active frequencies if you go to some oddball race where you can't get a freq list. that's a lot of fun if you go to late model races and such.[Edited on September 11, 2013 at 9:50 PM. 9/11/2013 10:59:02 PM
Gordon now in The Chase.
9/13/2013 4:39:54 PM
Thats good, now lets subtract the cheaters.
9/13/2013 6:10:04 PM
Logano should get pulled just for that wonky-eyed picture. Jesus.
9/13/2013 6:48:08 PM
THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED IF THERE WASN'T A CHASE
9/13/2013 7:27:12 PM
yeah, then even more folks wouldn't give a fuck about nascar. at least with the recent events they have something somewhat interesting to talk about.
9/13/2013 8:37:31 PM
And there wouldn't be a champion with 6 races to go
9/13/2013 9:47:15 PM
god forbid the champion actually be the one who did the best over the whole season
9/13/2013 10:45:49 PM
^how many sports is that actually the case?
9/13/2013 11:23:06 PM
SoccerEvery other kind of racing
9/13/2013 11:27:01 PM
There isn't a playoff in soccer? Lets not forget the real reason the chase was created, Kenseth bored his way to a championship without winning. NHRA adopted a chase format after NASCAR, I can't think of any popular forms of racing that still have a traditional points system. F1? I wouldn't call that racing, its follow the leader and hope they don't order you to let your "teammate" win.

If Truex was behind vickers and vickers had let him pass that would have been fine. The helped their teammate by playing the system. They went 2 laps down to allow a non-teammate to pass them just so their teammate could get a wild card spot.

Hmmm This is getting outrageous. This has to be the only professional sport that just changes rules mid season. I support fixing the cheating, but how do you judge what is 100%? How do you judge if a spin is accidental? If you subtract the radio of Bowyers spin it would look accidental as long as Jr doesn't give his interview. Once again NASCAR has injected a grey area into the rule book. The rule should be if you do the bullshit MWR did, we will park you for a week. Meeting over. Easiest way to fix the restarts "Boys have at it". Most of the issues with starts come from the leader trying to play games and lay back.
9/14/2013 8:19:41 PM
lol, lapped cars are gonna have to race to 100% of their ability and block lead lap cars from passing
9/14/2013 8:32:33 PM
I think a lot of the interpretation will only come into effect towards the end of the race. Here's what I'm thinking: Get within 50-100 miles left and then they'll really start paying attention. I don't see penalties for letting teammates pass and get the lead lap bonus. I think the bigger issue deals with how the race finishes than something that happens in the middle of the race. Gordon can let JJ get a lead lap in Lap 200 of 500, but if it's Lap 498 of 500 and JJ is higher in the point standings and they're fighting for sixth, Gordon can't just lay it down.Cars can still slide low and get out of the way for faster cars. Cars a lap down won't start blocking to keep their position or anything. If you're going to wreck, it better look legitimate. No more start and park. Some of this stuff will be tough to enforce. Ultimately, teams will have to have a plan determined before the race even starts since radio chatter will be monitored and anything that sounds like deal-making will be heavily scrutinized.

NAPA leaving Waltrip at the end of the season as fallout from Richmond. They were in the middle of a 3-year deal that was running to 2015.Imagine a lot of other teams will be catering to NAPA.
9/19/2013 5:07:36 PM
^^ I don't really care much about NASCAR, but doesn't that make it pretty pointless to even have teams? Why not just get rid of drafting next?
9/19/2013 5:09:13 PM
Multi-car teams in NASCAR are only around 25 years old. Which compared to the rest of motorsports is incredibly young.Mid-race of one guy passing another it'd be impossible to legislate and I don't think NASCAR would care about that point of the race anyway. They don't just want guys giving up spots to change results at the end of races. "Intentional cautions", what is intentional or not is NASCAR's discretion. 3 laps to go, yeah, you can sometimes put 2 and 2 together, but Bowyer and MWR would've likely never gotten into trouble on that caution if there was no in-car camera or radio communication that became public.[Edited on September 19, 2013 at 5:31 PM. JR's big come back starts today. #1 in final practice, lets all hope this carries over to the race. Nothing would make NASCAR more popular than JR as champ

But jooner didn't win rabble rabble rabble.
9/23/2013 7:54:26 AM
Sure he got lucky with pit strategy and finished 6th. But he also at one point kept him out on old tires to the point that when he finally pitted he a lap and a half down. There's a reason every Hendrick driver besides JR wins, and its not talent in the drivers seat.
9/23/2013 8:17:37 AM
9/23/2013 8:40:24 AM
Wait wait wait where is the source that says jr is gonna make a huge run at the chase? He's 9th in points. Btw it's the point in the season where Toyota engines start to expire halfway in to the race

Get ready for all sorts of contrived teammate-on-teammate "violence" to get the same results while claiming "I was going 100%."
