i dont use projections for lineup decisions i play matchups. The projections are for aiding me with the draft. When I say I "have" someone or something at ______ . Yes i didn't do all the legwork myself. I'm simply telling you what I'm using for their projection. Sometimes I've modified it based on what I think will happen, sometimes I've taken straight sauce from someone.I don't have time to spend 80 hours a week doing research. My job is to read lots of people's research and then use what I think is the best.

I need help with scoring in our league. We are finally instituting bonus points. Do you think these bonuses are adequate? too much? too little? thanksPassing Yards: 3 points at 300 yards; 4 points at 400 yards; 7 points at 500 yardsReceiving Yards: 2 points at 100 yards; 3 points at 200 yards; 6 points at 300 yardsRushing Yards: 3 points at 100 yards; 4 points at 150 yards; 5 points at 200 yards
9/6/2012 3:05:49 PM
im not a big fan of bonus points just because you are already getting more points for having more yardage... the bonus seems to make it excessive. That being said i think the bonuses are a little high. 3 points for 300 passing, 100 rush/rec is pretty standard for leagues that do this
9/6/2012 3:08:26 PM
I disregard leagues with yardage bonuses. Its a flawed concept to reward arbitrary statistical thresholds beyond the points already accrued from the yardage. 100 yards is better than 90 yards, but 10% better, not 50% better.

lineup question this week - (default scoring, non PPR league 12 teams)Marshawn Lynch or DeAngelo Williamsthere are reports that Lynch may not play due to lingering back issues, and Stewart might be out as well, upping William's workload. I'm a FF novice and I didn't pay attention to anything last season during my last year of grad school... any insight?

RGIII @ NO or Cutler @ IndyI like em both. Help me, Panthro.
9/6/2012 4:06:13 PM
Cutler.Shanahan is going to put the clamps on RGIII in the beginning...if not the whole season. You won't see any Cam type numbers out of him.
9/6/2012 4:09:03 PM
initially I would say the more proven commodity, Cutler, but their O-Line is SO bad... assuming Freeney is healthy that could be rough... Also, Indy could be down big and the Bears could be running a lot starting in the 3rd quarter... I think I would go Cutler though mainly because its RGIII's first real gamealso, for those of you with AP:

I'll ask again since people argued for hours right after i postedWhich DEF this week?NE v. TEN or PIT v. DEN?
9/6/2012 4:22:45 PM
do you get a lot of points for allowing few points? or do most of your points come from turnovers?
9/6/2012 4:23:35 PM
Thanks^^Pitt ]
9/6/2012 4:24:17 PM
^^^ I would submit you're better off flipping a coin when it comes to your DEF matchup than asking people on here for advice. But I would also submit you probably shouldn't waste time asking people about DEF matchups ever.
9/6/2012 4:28:12 PM
Asking TWW is the coin flip.
9/6/2012 4:41:53 PM
i like RGIII more than Cutler. I have RGIII rated way ahead of Cutler this year and NO is a great matchup for any QB.
9/6/2012 5:04:35 PM
i personally think RG3 is going to struggle playing NO. their running game isnt great, so that's not going to help eitheri do like fred davis this week though
9/6/2012 5:11:32 PM
I give up Jimmy Graham and Reggie Wayne and I get Lesean Mccoy and Fred Davis. Seems like a no brainer, but do you guys believe that mccoy will come close to repeating last year's production?
9/6/2012 9:54:23 PM
total no brainer. TE's are being so overrated this year it's ridiculous. There is so much depth at that position that other than Gronk/Graham and to an extent Hernandez there are like 10-15 guys who are almost interchangeable.Graham is still has like a $30 value in most leagues, but McCoy is more like $50-$60 in most formats. You can grab a waiver TE like Kyle Rudolph and still walk away with 60-70% of Graham's production.
9/6/2012 10:11:05 PM
I hate the Bears, and I hate Cutlerbut his chemistry with Brandon Marshall can't be ignoredso-called experts picking the Bears as a sleeper Super Bowl champion aren't COMPETELY off their rockers^^you basically traded a top-10 pick and change for a top-3 pick and change...solid move[Edited on September 6, 2012 at 10:18 PM. 9/6/2012 10:17:59 PM
Bears are a really good team with possibly the easiest schedule in the league. They are definitely contenders. Obviously a lot of question marks with their injury history though
9/6/2012 10:20:50 PM
Cutler over RGIIICutler has Marshall and Alshon and ForteRGIII is a rookie and isnt guarenteed to go CAM on anyone.[Edited on September 7, 2012 at 12:55 AM. Reason : ya]
9/7/2012 12:54:43 AM
RGIII should finish as a top 10-12 fantasy QB.Cutler is a borderline top 20 fantasy QB.RGIII may have like 200 less passing yards, 2-3 less passing td's, and 2-3 more INT's.But his 500-600 rushing yards and 4-6 rushing TD's will easily offset that. RGIII is almost certainly a better fantasy option this season and he has a very favorable matchup in week 1. Of course anything can happen from game to game but I think it's a clear RGIII start. Cutler is not a good fantasy QB.[Edited on September 7, 2012 at 1:22 AM. Reason : a]
9/7/2012 1:20:49 AM
i wish algorithms accounted for players with zero nfl snaps in their career]
9/7/2012 1:31:06 AM
It's called being a black qb with a trophy and 4.3 speed.Everyone is going to Cam it up. Cutler will do better this year.
9/7/2012 2:46:16 AM
For the season, it'll depend on which QB stays healthy. Cutler didn't make it a full season last year, and I think RGIII is going to be very Vick-like his first season. Think he's going to run more than he should, and likely take more/bigger hits than he did in college. He isn't as thick as Cam, odds of him missing 2-3 games are somewhat high.I loved RGIII's game in college. But I also liked Reggie Bush and Vince Young's game in college too. Need to see him in a meaningful NFL game before I go anointing him a top 10 fantasy QB. Week 1 I like proven commodities, so I'd go Cutler over RGIII and let RGIII play his way into my starting line-up.
9/7/2012 7:39:24 AM
RW or Peyton as starting QB this week?Against Pittsburgh, Peyton probably has lower breakout potential than RW vs AZBut Peyton is a guaranteed 14 points ... Any thoughts?
9/7/2012 8:47:56 AM
The safer bet is Peyton.
9/7/2012 9:07:20 AM
Let me phrase it differently ...What the chance that RW pulls out 20 FP this week?My matchup is pretty even, and I need to get some points here because the opposing QB is Rodgers
9/7/2012 10:06:48 AM
I'd definitely start rw in that one. He and peyton should be about even in fantasy this year so id play the matchups.
9/7/2012 12:42:16 PM
Haha, Arian Foster is a game-time decision.

9/7/2012 3:40:22 PM
frank gore (vs. GB), toby gerhart (vs. atlanta), or doug martin (vs. carolina)? non ppr.i'm kind of leaning towards gore, but martin against the still shitty panthers is tempting me.
9/7/2012 3:51:30 PM
Well, first off, Gerhart and the Vikings aren't playing Atlanta. You getting your big ass white RBs confused?
9/7/2012 4:03:28 PM
hahaha no i have jamaal charles as my #1 and i looked at his opponent instead of gerhart [Edited on September 7, 2012 at 4:08 PM. Reason : GERHART VERSUS THE JACKSONVILLE SHITUARS]
9/7/2012 4:07:48 PM
New Orleans players have won their appeal.now, do I choose the Saints or The vikings as my Def.
9/7/2012 4:38:04 PM
Vikings obviously. Gabbert
9/7/2012 4:43:49 PM
^^^^^^^ Bowe, go with the #1 WR especially if you are in a PPR. Smith will make his hay on a few big catches if he does have a big day. Bowe is the safer bet.^^^^ I like Martin, but I'd play it safe and go with the proven commodity in Gore. There is no telling what the split will be between Gerhart and AP. Plus GB games always turn into shootouts, expect at least 75 and a TD from Gore.^ Both aren't bad starts. RGIII will throw a pick or two but he also has a higher upside than JAX. Go with the Vikings.I guess this thread is going to turn into the yearly "GURU" thread so I guess we should follow the same rules. Before asking a question please answer or provide input to a few above you. With that being said:D. Thomas (DEN), T. Smith (BAL) or J. BlackmonD. Brown (IND) or I. RedmanJ. Maclin or M. Floyd (SD)P. I know Percy Harvin has gotten some loving in here recently...but he's going against a stout defense. How about this:Harvin (@Jac) vs Nate Washington (NE) vs Torrey Smith (Cin)I'm starting Harvin now, but Washington going up against the 32nd ranked NE defense is rustling my jimmies
9/7/2012 6:59:53 PM
Peter, Harvin is a stud, pretty much an every week play against even a stout defense, which I would argue vehemently Jacksonville is not. He's your guy.I'd put Smith above Washington. Last year's rankings mean very little, especially since they're starting Locker, who's number one flaw by far is his accuracy. He's not a special talent; he just got 1000 yards year by default since he was their #1 once Britt went out. He'll likely fall back to his complementary 6-700 yard role this year. Fringe roster worthy by mid season.[Edited on September 7, 2012 at 9:12 PM. Reason : x]
9/7/2012 9:06:22 PM
I also would go with Harvin, with Torrey as a close secondHelp me with these two scenarios, same league, non ppr standard scoring:Pick 2 rbDarren Sproles vs SkinsFred Jackson @ jetsKevin smith vs ramsPick my wr3Stevie Johnson @ jetsTorrey Smith vs bengals[Edited on September 7, 2012 at 9:33 PM. Reason : Hsas]
9/7/2012 9:32:56 PM
Sproles & I'd probably go Smith over Jackson. I would think StL's D is much more apt to give up rushing TDsI'd lean Torrey over Johnson & his groin pains
9/7/2012 9:38:50 PM
^^Sproles and Jackson, then Smith. Do not start Stevie vs. Revis and the jets, I know this as a Bills fan. I may have asked one or both of these before, but I'm still undecided:Vick or Schaub?Pick 2: Gerhart, Torrey Smith, Percy Harvin
9/7/2012 9:41:56 PM
Percy and Gerhart.I'm not sold on Torrey Smith juuuust yet.
9/7/2012 9:56:51 PM
Harvin and ponder have a lot of chemistry. In ppr Harvin could be a top 5 wr this year. Washington and locker actually do too. Locker is underestimated in fantasy this year. He's prob a borderline top 15 QB by seasons end .Bowe severely underestimated. 15 tds two years ago and was doing great last year despite no Charles until cassel got hurt. I like Martin vs the panthers. Our run d is improved but you can still break long runs against our shitty safeties.

I need a Flex playerTitus YoungBenJarvus Green-EllisStevan RidleyRobert Meacham
9/8/2012 10:42:14 AM
^i'd do law firm, i think he is a solid back that was good when he got the ball, which was almost never with the pats. i'd assume that would be different this year. i tried to pick him up as a steal in my league but someone more desperate outbid me.need help with my flex:currently starting s. johnson vs jets (and revis)...this guy seems to show up when it's not expected and shit the bed when he should be great so...my other options would beGreg OlsenTitus Young Mark Ingram
