I'm kinda mad that the steeplechase wasn't even on the tv, that's like one of my favorite events in track and field.

I thought the women's marathon was awesome! Tatyana Petrova Arkhipova was incredible, how feisty! but poor Kara Goucher, she really wanted to be in the top 10

I'll be missing the mens marathon this sunday but it should be good. That course looks really hard. I definitely did not envy the women running on that slippery cobblestone and all those sharp turns

I think it's ridiculous he just quit and I call bullshit on him being that hurt. Unless he was seriously hurt, like if you kept it up you wont ever walk again hurt, then yeah... but I think it would have been so much better if he finished all of his diving instead of just quitting because of one dive being bad. Sure, he wasn't going to medal, but atleast he wouldn't have quit.

I'm going to claim ignorance on medical issues because I don't know shit about kidney damage...but I would think if he fell hard enough to damage his kidney, he would have been walking a little more gingerly out of the pool. To me, that was a walk with a little bit of hurt pride, to me....not a hurt kidney.

Didn't look deathly ill in the one video ITT that worked. Sure he's shaking it off a bit but he isn't holding his side or even wincing. Probably didn't take kidney damage - he wouldn't be standing upright with a normal face if he did - but he was probably hurting enough not to to another dive at the Olympic level.

the problem was that he lost his leg, couldn't stay in the pike. therefore, he couldn't complete the 3 1/2 somersaults.
