Why didn't they Boo mike Scott? and the boo has never really work. McCants dropped like 28, Steve Blake drop like 28, and i there have been a few others. but it is pretty cool when the crowd nose jump 100%
1/29/2012 12:35:03 PM
One thing is for sure, if you boo the ref, they screw us over even more.
1/29/2012 12:36:54 PM
the CJ foul made me see RED, i about snapped and ran down on the court. should have been an and-one. 10+ (i think we ended up we 13 fouls on us) to their 7 at home is unacceptable. its not like we were trying to foul to get back into the game. bottom line since we started ACC play is to clean up some of our sloppy play. missing layups, dribbling off your foot, NOT FINISHING AT THE RIM (i'm looking at you Calvin and Howell, if you are going to miss your FT make the basket)
1/29/2012 12:55:50 PM
who started the big head poster trend?also, where do they print those?

By far, my favorite analysis of NCSU basketball is the ref conspiracy angle.
1/29/2012 2:59:45 PM
Sorry defensive minded teams tend to commit more personal fouls this is a simple fact. However we ended up with more overall fouls called and coincidentally the two players that were doing the most damage to Virginia both ended up either fouling out or very close to it (if you didn't have a problem with at least one of the calls on Leslie you are a retard).
1/29/2012 3:04:45 PM
I like how we got called for over the back on defensive rebounds when we had position.
1/29/2012 3:09:31 PM
1/29/2012 3:10:42 PM
what the fuck happened to our shooting? we may have set some sort of rebound record but if we would take good shots and make them to begin with we wouldn't have to.
1/29/2012 3:17:12 PM
I dont get the three consecutives fouls called whenever we got anywhere near Scott. Is he just that good at faking it or is there something else going on?
1/29/2012 7:43:37 PM
DEFINITELY SOMETHING ELSE GOING ONYOU'RE ON TO SOMETHING
1/29/2012 7:51:48 PM
Gott seemed to be of the opinion that something else was going on with the officiating in the second half based on his post-game interview. He points out the number of times they got to the line a couple of different times, in addition to suggesting they got away with a few.Oh nevermind, that tuff guy there has a spiffy answer for you [Edited on January 29, 2012 at 7:53 PM. Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't overly impressed with Mike Scott. Definitely don't think he's the acc player of the year like dumbass Mike Patrick and Len Elmore said he would be
1/29/2012 8:01:17 PM
He scored the most points, and he drew a foul or made a bucket every time he got the ball. What's not to like?
1/29/2012 8:10:33 PM
He's just not flashy, so its easy for him to fly under the radar. But by the end of the game, he's got the stats you want. Really quiet, composed player.
1/29/2012 8:19:32 PM
1/29/2012 8:19:44 PM
Whatever you have to tell yourself to make it seem like an efficient 18 points is bad.[Edited on January 29, 2012 at 8:23 PM. Reason : He had a better game than Leslie]
1/29/2012 8:23:03 PM
No one said he had a bad game. No one said Leslie had a better game.
1/29/2012 8:24:14 PM
i loved howell's emotion when wood made that 3alot of things you can knock him for, but he cares at least
1/29/2012 11:00:08 PM
I'm not saying that Mike Scott isnt a good player, I'm just saying that I dont think hes the best player in the conference.
1/30/2012 8:55:42 AM
Scott is the best player in the ACC, but yeah he totally sucks
1/30/2012 8:57:06 AM
That Scott guy did a good job of getting to the line but he wasn't particularly impressive (certainly not "ACC player of the year" like perennial shitstains Patrick and Elmore would have you believe). He's not that great of a shot-maker (unless you count the two ridiculously lucky fadeaways in the first half) and looked pretty mediocre on defense. I suppose you can give him credit for watching enough NBA basketball to bite Kevin Durant's "I'm going to throw my hands upward and flail wildly at your outstretched hand" to "draw" a foul. So he has decent range, an above average post game, and he can flop. With that being said: I would love to have him on our team.
1/30/2012 8:59:15 AM
That was a pretty painful game to watch us lose because it is one we could easily have pulled out. At least I can put to bed my thoughts of us getting to the tourney this year. We have definitely made progress from last year, but we still have a ways to go.
1/30/2012 8:59:24 AM
^^thisand I think Barnes, Henson and Zeller are all better than Scott. Hell, I think Lorenzo Brown is a better player than Scott. Who said that Scott isnt a good player? Saying he isnt ACC POY =/= saying hes a bad player[Edited on January 30, 2012 at 9:03 AM. Reason : asdf]
1/30/2012 9:02:09 AM
you can not be serious. lorenzo brown is nowhere close to being as good as scott.Scott is destroying people this year.Henson you can make an argument for... zeller maybe if you want to stretch it... but that's it. Let's keep this stuff logical, state fans already have a bad rep.[Edited on January 30, 2012 at 9:06 AM. Reason : a]
1/30/2012 9:05:38 AM
If Zo continues to progress, he will be a far superior player. He's had some pretty bad stretches over the last few games, though. He was doing a fantastic job with ball security against lesser competition...someone else (in this thread, I believe) mentioned that he might be better playing off the ball but the problem is he's not a great shooter and he doesn't move particularly well without the basketball. Fortunately, those things are relatively easy to improve upon.
1/30/2012 9:06:41 AM
^Eh. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here.
1/30/2012 9:13:44 AM
Okay. It's possible that he will become a far superior player. Remember that Zo is a sophomore and Scott is a fifth-year senior.
1/30/2012 9:19:30 AM
who is Scott destroying this year?? He's the definition of steady, but hes not blowing the doors off of anyone. I like Zo's all-around game
1/30/2012 9:39:02 AM
1/30/2012 9:42:52 AM
Are you kidding? Scott is destroying everyone this year. He's one of the top players in the nation. He should be getting consideration for player of the year, but he won't because of the snail pace UVA plays at which keeps his stats artificially low.On a per possession basis, his stats are up there with anyone's.
1/30/2012 9:47:58 AM
Brown hasn't been playing well recently. If he keeps this 1:1 asst/TO ratio, then slide him over to SG and let Lewis take over as PG for next year.We need a point guard who can take care of the ball better. I was optimistic for most of the year, but he's been on a slide the last 3/4 games.
1/30/2012 9:52:08 AM
Is Lewis going to be ready to start day 1 next year? His highlights are impressive, sure, but he looks like he's 12 years old.
1/30/2012 9:54:38 AM
No way Lewis is a starter right awayEven Harrow had to beat out shitbag Javy Gonzalez[Edited on January 30, 2012 at 9:56 AM. Reason : No offense, Javy]
1/30/2012 9:55:55 AM
Brown will continue to develop as a PG, Lewis will play the Alex Johnson role next year.
1/30/2012 9:57:42 AM
Probably not. But I'd rather have him running the team than Brown getting 5 assists/4 turnovers a game and not being able to shoot the three.By ACC play next year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lewis starting and/or getting 25+ minutes at the point. I also think we'll have three guys splitting PG duty in Lewis/Brown/Purvis. With Brown/Purvis/Wood getting minutes at 2guard and Wood splitting his minutes at the G/SF.I'm not worried about Lewis playing on the offensive end that much...but a little worried about him getting abused on defense. This post is also a little biased with the recent shitty PG play of Zo. He needs to pick it up.
1/30/2012 9:58:35 AM
Lewis will not start over Zo or Purvis, there's no need to discuss.[Edited on January 30, 2012 at 10:08 AM. Reason : ]
1/30/2012 10:06:18 AM
People seem to forget that Zo is only a sophomore, and it's his first year running the point in the ACC. He's been off a little lately, but he's got a huge ceiling. Unless something drastic happens, no way Lewis starts over him next year. Also, if we slide Zo over to 2G, Purvis sits. Body and skill-wise, he definitely looks ready to play big minutes next year on both ends of the floor (unlike Lewis)I still think Lewis takes over Johnson's roll and gets 10-15 minutes a game. Purvis essentially takes CJW's spot in the starting lineup. What's still a mystery is how we work Warren into the rotation. That said, there's still way too much season left to be worrying about all of this.
1/30/2012 10:06:37 AM
with the way the losses are piling up there isn't that much left this season. These next three are obviously must wins. We have to win 10 games now for sure. With VT and Clemson's collapse we still have a shot.
1/30/2012 10:19:22 AM
Oh no, We lost to a top 10 team and another ranked team. Those losses are coming like Niagara Falls.
1/30/2012 10:51:06 AM
We have 5 other losses you must have overlooked
1/30/2012 10:59:34 AM
If the ship is sinking so fast why doesn't face ever jump off?
1/30/2012 11:00:02 AM
True State fans enjoy losing more than winning, because if you're under 30, its all you've ever known.
1/30/2012 11:01:07 AM

1/30/2012 11:01:46 AM
4/7 losses were against current top 20 teams, and vanderbilt was ranked when we played them. the sky is hardly falling. The GT game was very very bad though. We just need to find a way to beat unc, duke, or fsu.
1/30/2012 1:00:40 PM
we could/should be 7-3 going into Duke..let's hope we're riding some confidence going to Cameron
