I've read it's about 30 hours, and that seems about right. I've plated almost exactly 13 hours per character, but I did do probably about 25% dicking around. So 30 hours on the main story seems about right. The credits are 45 minutes long.

Why do all the redneck californians have southern accents? I haven't been to rural california but it seems unlikely they would sound like that.
9/21/2013 5:30:05 PM
How many hours was GTA:SA?
9/21/2013 5:52:52 PM
I'm a bit disappointed at how little you can interact with the buildings. Yeah, it all looks great, but what's the use of a recreation of the Hollywood Bowl or a stadium if you can't even do anything with them. GTA4 had a lot more stuff to do IN the buildings, even if it was just running through them to avoid the po-po. Call me crazy

Just a heads up, unless I'm missing something, cars that you order off the website do not respawn in your garage when you leave them/blow them up, as I think someone mentioned on a previous page. I just ordered the JB 700 as Franklin and beside the fact that none of the guns/gadgets actually work on it, it also doesn't appear to come back after I dropped a grenade underneath it to see if it would respawn (I saved it first). I don't know what you have to do to make a car show up as a special vehicle, but so far I only have the Elegy, which is what came with the garage I guess, cause I don't know where it came from otherwise.Edit: Apparently the Elegy is a reward for linking your account to the online thingie. And it looks like you can recover bought cars from the impound lot, but only once unless you save it in your garage again. [Edited on September 21, 2013 at 9:45 PM. Reason : eh]

How the fuck do you make money in this game besides playing the stupid missions. How do you regenerate healthHow the fuck are you supposed to see the damn white cross hairs in a gun fight.I played this shit for less than an hour and im already bored to tears with this shit.
9/21/2013 10:07:09 PM
I totally agree w/ the crosshairs. The white dot gets lost far too easily. But, it seems you can change it if you want by going to the options. As for health, you can get the health packs that are randomly placed around the map or you can just buy a can of soda from a vending machine. You can usually find those machines at AmmuNation or a gas station.[Edited on September 21, 2013 at 10:13 PM. Reason : ]

^^^yeah i learned that the hard way. bought one of the 200k sports cars, totally tricked it out, then found out its gone after losing it.
9/21/2013 10:30:29 PM
That has to be a bug. "Hey, spend lots of time getting money so you can buy a car and trick it out, then get out of the car and lose it forever. What a game!!!!"
9/21/2013 10:32:47 PM
Yeah, that doesn't seem right. Anyone know a release date on the iFruit app for android?

It's not like it was in the past. It regenerates to 50% after about 10 seconds of not taking damage, and only restores to 100% if you eat something or grab a health pack, or I think sleep.[Edited on September 21, 2013 at 11:37 PM. Reason : well, I guess it's exactly like it was in the past except for the 50% regen thing.]

also, if you want to be lame and cheat, you can restore your health by switching to another character and then switching back.

I still have Franklin as the only playable character. I'm guessing I'm not too far in the game. I spent a while exploring. I don't like how the map doesn't appear until you have explored that area. I wish I knew what all was out there without having to do my own exploring. I drove all the way out to the bay and stole a jet ski and a 4-wheeler. Then I got too lazy to drive back to the city so I called a cab. Cost me $240 bucks to get back to the city!I just did a mission with Lamar where I had to drive a van and chase some guy on the back of a bike. I must be absolutely horrible at this game b/c I suck at shooting while driving. The guy ended up getting hit by a bus and then I chased him with the dog. The dog was supposed to sniff him out but ended up humping another dog.We ended up catching the guy but then we let him go. Something tells me I was supposed to kill that guy but I got the "pity" ending instead. Also, where can I get a plane? I tried going into the fort but immediately got a 4-star level and got blown up by a tank.
9/22/2013 2:24:32 PM
9/22/2013 2:56:43 PM
also, how diligent do i need to be about calling my contacts? Do I have to do this on my own to activate certain missions or will they call me?
9/22/2013 3:00:14 PM
I bought the cab company for 200 grand....now I get free cab rides and I can skip the ride for free toobest 200 grand I ever spent
9/22/2013 3:58:27 PM
can you not steal cars for free? is the game not called Grand Theft Auto?
9/22/2013 4:17:07 PM
^sure but it can take 10-15 minutes to drive across town early on i took a bike and rode down the train tracks, great way to get top speed w/out worrying about traffic or tight turnsalso, is there anyway to know you are actually progressing a skill, or see where your skill is at, unless you get a level up notification? I know you are supposed to up driving skill by doing certain things but i have no idea what.

Don't get the cheap gun guy on your first heist.

Bought the cab company for $200 grand? Geez....I must not be far enough in the game because I don't have anywhere near that type of cash yet.I assume the big heists pay out really big.
9/22/2013 5:57:57 PM

Can someone explain the garages to me?Michael and Franklin each have a single car garage at their homes. Then each has a separate multi-car garage that stores "common" cars. basically anything you put in those garages can be accessed by any character. is that what i'm seeing? Then each character has their own "personal" cars. Franklin's white car and Michael's black sedan. These never need to be put in the garage correct?and what's the deal with the impound lot?
9/23/2013 8:16:49 AM
wait, where is the multi-car garage?
9/23/2013 8:27:52 AM
I've only done one heist so far, and I went with the best driver, worst gunman, and the hacker you met on a previous mission. But I also chose the stealthy way, so there wasn't a need to shoot anyone. Was in and out, though the window was fairly small, but made 3+ million(Michael's take was just over $900,000).I don't think I'm super far in the game, but after a couple of nice stock plays by Franklin, both he and Michael have about a million in the bank and Trevor isn't super high but has some money. But I've only bought one building so far(Trevor), so I'm sure once I started spending some money it'll go down, just hoping some more heists come up.
9/23/2013 8:38:35 AM
the big garages are for storing multiple cars. each character has a separate one. and the cars aren't shared.
9/23/2013 9:08:29 AM
fyi from that link above

9/23/2013 9:29:20 AM
Just did the first heist. Used the cheapest guys in everything. The gunman died but I picked up his cut because I was driving behind him. Michaels cut was like 1.2 mil I think...or something close. Good stuffBTW, the stock stuff doesn't really make sense to me. I've barely dabbled with it, but how do you know what to put money into? When does it update? etc?
9/23/2013 9:56:33 AM
Fuck, same thing happened to me with the cheap gun guy, but I didn't pick up his. Michael's take was only $180k. Also I feel bad for all of the kids who will now think that putting your hands all over a stripper is how you take them home.
9/23/2013 10:44:59 AM
^^ just listen for clues. the assassination missions give you very explicit advice on whose stocks are going to drop and whose are going to rise after the mission.[Edited on September 23, 2013 at 10:45 AM. Reason : .]
9/23/2013 10:45:18 AM
^^Keep playing, eventually you'll have some good opportunities on the stock market that will be obvious to you.^Yeah I didn't realize I picked up his loot when he dropped it but it said I did, guess I just got lucky. So yeah my take was pretty nice from the first heist.Did anyone choose to go the route of not using the gas?
9/23/2013 10:47:29 AM
I went in gunzz blazing and earned 4.9 million. Michael ended up with about 1.1m and Franklin 300K. I used the top driver and gun guy, but the cheapest tech guy, the one from life invader.
