why would we cut ties with him? He's been a pleasant surprise so far this year
11/15/2011 9:59:12 AM
No reason to jump to conclusions yet...but it should not be a surprise. He has been staying after almost every practice according to Chip. I wonder if he is part of a package deal, though.
11/15/2011 10:05:46 AM
I think you're right, he'd be probably part of this "d man for a forward" package we keep hearing about.][Edited on November 15, 2011 at 10:53 AM. Reason : ]

or he could just be tweeting "take care" since it's the name of the drake album that came out today.

Staal, Sutter, and Larose not at practice today, per Chip. Interesting.Dammit, remarkable insight on the Stewart tweet. That's impressive that you would link the two things.
11/15/2011 12:05:31 PM
Speaking of Valient Himself, anybody DVR the game? VH wants a screen grab of him with his banner from the broadcast.
11/15/2011 12:28:58 PM
I didn't, sorry. Do you know him personally?
11/15/2011 1:05:05 PM
Yes.
11/15/2011 1:06:58 PM
Well tell him I said he is awesome. I'm sure he already knows this though.

I look for this thread everyday in hopes that it will be bumped with news that Mo has, once again, been given the boot and someone competent has been given the job.
11/16/2011 3:11:16 PM
so, I got bored in class today and threw this lineup together:1st line: Skinner-Ruutu-Jokinen 2nd line: Dalpe-Staal-Boychuk3rd line: Stewart-Sutter-Ponikarovsky4th line: Larose-Brent-DwyerThis would make it possible (though not likely under Chairman Mo) to roll 4 lines. Give the 4th line guys some good PK time, which could keep them all around 9 minutes a night. Split the ES time btw the lines something like (35-30-22-13). It puts scorers in scoring roles, 3 big bodies on a 3rd line with a competent defensive forward and a 4th line full of pests.

11/16/2011 7:43:28 PM
man those were just two great plays by montreal....price dumping the puck high off the glass on the kill leading to a two on one, and an absolutely incredible pass on the powerplay that forced cam to have to slide all the way to the opposite post. we should have a shit load more than 4 shots though, but those goals by Montreal were hard earned.]
11/16/2011 7:59:42 PM
outshooting us 4 to 1....could get ugly in the next week or two
11/16/2011 8:02:49 PM
if this shit is still happening in a week or two I'm going to start burning my season tickets.
11/16/2011 8:11:47 PM

Scanned the HF Boards...word of a broken stick being thrown out of the locker room during an intermission and Staal leaving the room soon after. Also this:http://www.twitvid.com/AHXVI

that last comment makes me want to post the Downfall parody I made for the Hurricanes with Staal in mind.

^4, Luke DeCock made a good point
11/17/2011 11:53:26 AM
How much worse does it have to get before he pulls the trigger on Maurice? Who is currently available that would be a viable replacement? I'm not really seeing any decent names being thrown around
11/17/2011 11:53:29 AM
There are a few guys out there.... assistant coachesDavis Payne, who turned St. Louis around is sticking out in my mind. He played minor hockey in Greensboro with Dan Bylsma. They are best friends. As far as a trade goes, I doubt there are any big ones to be made... so a trade basically means a scrub would be brought in. The talent is there on this team, the coaching is not utilizing it.

11/17/2011 1:02:28 PM
ted nolan
11/17/2011 1:49:18 PM
I'd take Nolan at this point, can't see JR or Karmanos wanting that volatility though
11/17/2011 2:05:05 PM
I'm not interested in Ted Nolan, but it obviously is not my call. I also don't think Nolan is on JR's radar. Also, Chip tweeted that Staal left the locker room last night "to have wrist taped. That is all." Wow. Chip didn't research much on that one.And Anthony Stewart FINALLY gets his shot. On the Staal line now.
11/17/2011 2:22:15 PM
I'd take Jeff Carter.
