Rosario could be a homeless man's Gates in the right systemKing and Barnbridge are pretty much wastes of flesh
1/13/2011 3:14:29 PM
he still bangin that girl you work w/
1/13/2011 3:15:31 PM
She only works in my building, and pretty sure that was a one time deal
1/13/2011 3:18:37 PM
1/13/2011 3:32:15 PM
Rivera is one to know that Rosario can catch, in the back of an endzone nonetheless
1/13/2011 3:34:03 PM
If he is nearly as offensive minded as the overall Charger's strategy then I like it. This also means more TE plays. I been telling folks for years, TE play is the most underrated position in this league. III
1/13/2011 3:36:50 PM
^^ indeed. was at that game, and....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2RiI9v3io4
1/13/2011 3:47:06 PM
^^I agree because Gates, Witten, Gonzalez, etc. are WAY better than the guys that are average or at the bottom like King. The talent depth at TE is very weak.
1/13/2011 3:48:23 PM
Also, TE's are huge for young QB's since its usually a short easy throw when the receivers are covered. Most of the good young Qb's have had quality TE's to throw to...Ryan to Gonzalez, Flacco to Heap, Sanchez to Keller, Rodgers to Finley, etc.
1/13/2011 4:00:27 PM
Most of your SB teams have solid if not great TE play....Saints/Colts; Steelers; Giants/Patriots; Bears/Colts; Steelers/SeahawksNot saying that it automatically makes you a contender, but history shows that they play an important part. They def give QB's an immediate option and help to relieve coverage on WR. Speaking of which, any word/rumors on what Panther's may do with Smitty? III
1/13/2011 4:33:45 PM
probably pay him to play WR for the stated rate on his contract
1/13/2011 4:43:38 PM
You'd think Smith would figure "hey lets see what Rivera can do"If Fox was coming back next year, I'd see a trade as much more likelyBut still, #89 is probably waiting to see who they bring in to compete with Clausen at QB
1/13/2011 4:48:03 PM
He's probably holding out for that sweet
1/13/2011 4:50:14 PM
I'm thinking, as bad as it may seem, they may trade Smitty for a draft picks and a vet for other positions. III
1/13/2011 4:55:14 PM
what would we get for him a 3rd rounder?
1/13/2011 4:58:45 PM
Kyle Orton for Steve SmithWho says no?
1/13/2011 5:26:59 PM
Smith?"Smitty, hey long time no hear...its Da Fox...how would you feel about coming out to Denver to run block for me?"]
1/13/2011 5:27:27 PM
i wouldnt mind letting smith go
1/13/2011 5:31:26 PM
Good thing he doesn't have a no trade clause
1/13/2011 5:31:31 PM
I wouldnt mind letting Smith go, if we got AJ GreenBut I'd rather keep Smith and draft Fairley
1/13/2011 5:33:52 PM
Fairley scares me that he might he a Haynesworth type guyGreen has been consistent from day 1I think it comes down to those 2, and I'd be happy with either
1/13/2011 5:36:00 PM
I would rather keep Smith too, but I have the feelings deep inside that they will allow Smith to go and try to get himself a ring (being nice to lasting vet) and get solid draft pick and other compensations. III
1/13/2011 5:36:10 PM
I just have reservations about taking a wideout with the #1 pick overall
1/13/2011 5:36:53 PM
89 for a 3rd rounder would be a wastewith even a decent qb, he would put up good numbers
1/13/2011 5:37:33 PM
I don't get why everyone still wants Fairley after the NC game. Yes he had some tackles for loss when he went completely unblocked. Other than that he had a handful of other decent plays. What I saw most of the game was him quitting when the play didn't go his way. He was jogging around 75% of the time.I think Slave Famous hit the nail on the head by comparing him to Haynesworth. He will be a cancer to this team.
1/13/2011 5:50:26 PM
He regularly blew up offensive lines in the SEC all season
1/13/2011 6:11:27 PM
So did Fat AlbertPoint is, both guys are studs at positions of need. Fairley would be more valuable if he can produce like this all the time, but thats a big if. Green is more of a know commodity and a safer pick.
1/13/2011 6:16:21 PM
who is gonna get the ball to GreenI'd rather clog the middle with Fairley and let our stud linebackers be able to work]
1/13/2011 6:18:21 PM
the obvious choice is peterson.
1/13/2011 6:20:45 PM
Fairley isn't that kind of player, the Haloti Ngata, Pat Williams type that clog the line and draw double teams every playersHe's more in the Warren Sapp mode, as in he makes the play himself
1/13/2011 6:21:56 PM
I agree with the albert/Fairley comparisons. But Fairley is much more of a sure thing talent wise than Green. Linemen usually are.
1/13/2011 6:33:49 PM
1/13/2011 6:46:45 PM
I can see Fairley being a stud like Haynesworth was prior to fiasco, but I don't see or have no evidence of him being a Diva like Albert. He is much more of a sure pick (if he decides to go pro) than Green would be at #1. Taking a WR at #1 is very iffy, especially if you don't have a QB to feed them the ball. III
1/13/2011 7:06:09 PM
Fairley makes it officialSo we all see it as Fairley or Green at this point, yes? With Peterson and Bowers as long shots. I think with Johnson, Brown and Hardy, we're already decent at DE, and Peterson seems like a stretch for number 1, although I would love to finally have a decent return man again.VSWho ya got?
1/14/2011 12:13:53 PM
Ndamukong Fairley
1/14/2011 12:15:01 PM
we shouldn't draft a wr number 1 overall
1/14/2011 12:42:21 PM
^At least not without a QB to throw it to him.I think Fairley is the pick. Hopefully he's not a dumbass and gets PF penalties all the time like he did in college.
1/14/2011 1:13:57 PM
Green has the talent to be the 2nd comingorCharles RodgersAt this point, if we had any offense at all then I would say take Green to put us over the top. But he can't be an impact player from Game 1, which is exactly what we need. At this point I'm still holding out hope we can trade down to the middle of the first round and get some value for our pick while picking up and extra 2nd or 3rd rounder.[Edited on January 14, 2011 at 1:19 PM. 1/14/2011 1:18:54 PM
Draft AJ Green #1 overall.Trade Steve Smith for picks.Trade DeA for picks.Tank this year.Draft Luck #1 overall next year.Profit.
1/14/2011 1:19:16 PM
psh, no way in hell Green doesn't turn out to be a top 5 receiver in the league
1/14/2011 1:22:13 PM
I like the trade Smitty for picks part. He's not a good influence on a young, rebuilding team in my opinion and deserves a shot with another team to get a ring after pouring his heart into our team for his entire career. We can't trade DeAngelo now since his contract is up. I believe we would have to franchise him and then try to move him, which would never get us the value we need to do that. This window has closed IMO.
1/14/2011 1:23:25 PM
It's either Fairley or Peterson for me. We have the worst DT's in the league, and it's not even close. Fairley can play one-gap rush DT or play DE in a 3-4 scheme (haven't heard what Rivera is planning to run).Picking a CB 1st overall would be weird as hell, but we could really use a guy like Peterson, especially since Marshall is probably not being resigned.
1/14/2011 1:24:57 PM
Fairley over Green simply b/c we cannot take a WR number 1 without earth shattering numbers or a QB to feed him. Hate having the #1 pick this year kind of sucks. And since our 2nd round pick is not ours...gotta go for fulfillment now. III[Edited on January 14, 2011 at 1:30 PM. Reason : .]

There are guys on the street that could be NFL receivers. You don't draft them #1. Draft lineman unless you need a QB and the one for your system is available.
1/14/2011 4:46:20 PM
^^That assumes he wants to continue playing for a bad team
1/14/2011 8:46:18 PM
this morning on the john boy and billy show, tom sorensen of the charlotte observer said he wanted MARC TRESTMAN as OC.
1/14/2011 9:04:33 PM
drafting elite receivers without a qb is a great idea
