Yeah, I'm sure his family has a great recipe for some Nachos that dates all the way back to ancient Mexico.

Indeed, Catch 22, it only fueled the flames and gave false confirmation to the worst prejudices of the bigots
1/2/2012 1:34:41 AM
yeah i am totally, 100% not like that. people can do whatever they please but that is not an accurate representation of trans people at all.

So I am confused, you are transgender, i.e. you have a male body but a female's consciousness. However, you are attracted to women? So a lesbian in a man's body?Do you have the urge to fuck women in a traditional way? If so, how does this make you any different than any other male? Just perhaps a difference in clothing style selection?Forgive me if I am missing something.

i kind of just like being naked with girls. im not really for or against using what i have but i guess you could say id be up for just about anything. i find the dynamic nature of a lesbian relationship incredibly appealing.

^ sometimes when your mind is so "open" all the damn common sense falls out and you do this:
1/3/2012 7:33:02 AM
Feel free to post examples of where I lack common sense. Otherwise, your silly picture gets lumped into the "mindlessly dismissive without reason" category.
1/3/2012 12:18:27 PM
^ the thing is there are people who think like you, there is nothing wrong with it, but this is the more "traditional" way of thinking where men marry women and gay people are thought of as a disease or mental disorder. While it can be taken offensively, that is your opinion. (I am not saying that this is your actual opinion of gay people, but it falls into the category of a traditionalist's thinking) Absolutely nothing wrong with it, but it can often be taken offensively, especially those who are of a different sexual orientation. This is why some people may take to irrational arguments, because it a subject that they feel passionately about and cannot understand the other viewpoint. As is what I imagine to be the case for you, your comments appear "defensive" because you are trying to refute their opinions with yours. That is why people are responding with "you mad?" etc.. because you are fighting opinion with opinion. Essentially no one is wrong. However, there are other people who either are gay/transgender/transexual/androgynous etc or know someone very close to them and understand the process and the emotional rollercoaster that goes with it. It is hard to understand when you have never been exposed to it at a personal level, and so the reaction tends to be "what a waste of time" when they do not understand that. If you care to make analogies, then you can relate it to calling a pregnant women "fat" and a maternity leave "lazy", you are entitled to these opinions, but the workplace is supposed to at least attempt to help everyone, not just one side of the spectrum, to be productive and comfortable. I am guessing that you may not understand it (as men often do not connect to their emotional side, which is fine) because straight men have had a place in the workforce their whole lives, as do most straight women nowadays. However there are still people who are not recognized as people, and in more "progressive" cities where people go for acceptance it is becoming the norm, so yes it becomes apart of the workplace courtesy to understand that not everyone is the typical definition of male and female. This is not going to happen nationwide, so you most likely will not encounter this in your lifetime, so if it truly bothers you, then just be happy you read it on the internet I guess.[Edited on January 3, 2012 at 12:39 PM. As an extreme supporter of LGBT rights, I also think it's a little silly and over the top. Then again, I don't know where he works. I think it's ridiculous to call someone "traditional" for feeling this way, as if everything done in the name of catering to LGBT needs is necessary.[Edited on January 3, 2012 at 12:46 PM. I don't think it has a place in most cities, but if your company has people that are not clear in their gender, then maybe it would be prudent for the HR dept to have that to avoid potential lawsuits. By having a policy like that, the company will appear much more LGBT-friendly and less likely to have suits filed against and are more likely to win if it is the case. So with the current employer lawsuit statistics, I can see why a company would rather do it this way.

^Whoa. Put away the jump to conclusions mat, darlin', you're bordering on crazy talk. Nowhere in this thread have I given my opinion on the LGBT community, gay rights, gay marriage, or much of anything else. You got onto me for making assumptions, but it seems like your entire argument is based on one big assumption that I'm traditional and/or just completely anti gay rights. And that's just simply not true. I like to try to think rationally in all situations. I don't like to make decisions based on emotion if I can help it. And simply put, I don't think that HR policy is a very rational one when you look at the greater picture of most workplaces. You seem to want to turn this into a black and white, LGBT vs Haters issue, and I don't see it that way. You honestly are coming off as if you're just looking for a battle to fight and if you can't find someone who disagrees with you, you'll just pretend they're the enemy and start swinging. Speaking of rational comments:
