Bonnell says it might involve a Jack for Maggette swap, and cats would end up with the 10th pick

but he's retarded so we shall see

beware the bonnell

Quote :
"Bobcats may end up with 7th, 9th picks

The Charlotte Bobcats are closing in a deal that could leave them with the seventh and ninth picks in tonight's NBA draft, two league sources just confirmed for the Observer.

The sources said the Bobcats would give up the 19th pick. The same sources wouldn't divulge whether current Bobcats would be part of the deal, which apparently involves the Sacramento Kings and/or the Milwaukee Bucks.

It's likely the Bobcats would use one of those two lottery picks on Texas forward Tristan Thompson."

Maggette is making some serious scratch for the next 2 seasons

a little more than Jackson, but i don't think Maggette is nearly as good

The team is going nowhere fast, so jackson vs magette the player isn't as important as jackson vs magette the contract.

And since its basically a wash, getting another lottery pick would be a coup

well they both have 2 years left, and are just about even in salary

Maggette: $10.2 mil/$10.9 mil
Jackson: $9.2 mil/$10 mil

[Edited on June 23, 2011 at 4:34 PM. Reason : yeah the lottery pick mitigates the talent disparity]

Chad Ford briefly reported the Bobcats were giving up 9/19/Jackson and would get 7 and Maggette.

i almost got really mad. then he corrected it, Bobcats keep 9.

Quote :
"@chadfordinsider Corrected deal: Bucks get Beno, Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston & 19. Bobcats get pick 7 & Maggette. Kings get 10 & John Salmons."

[Edited on June 23, 2011 at 4:43 PM. Reason : so 7, 9, and Maggette minus Jackson and Livingston. Look at Cho go!]

Not bad, mag and Jax have same 2 yrs 20 mil left and we move from 19 to 7.

Jax fell off huge last year he's about done and was blocking Henderson's minutes.

We also clear livingstons salary

So its almost a lock now we take Tristain Thompson at 7, because Detroit wants him at 8

So at 9, do we go Kemba? I like Klay Thomson, even if I don't care for how he spells his name

The more I think about this trade, the more I like it.

We agree to swap Jax for Maggette (an all-time "who cares?" move for a rebuilding team), and move our second pick up 12 spots in the process this year. CHO-WNED.

Lol why the hell do you trade into this years weak draft, especially considering there could be a lockout.

Anybody smart should swap all their picks this year for next year.

lack of stars, but there is depth. and why not? you can't keep waiting around to make moves. i like the initiative.

[Edited on June 23, 2011 at 5:04 PM. Reason : lockout is shitty, but you've got to try something with a struggling franchise]

i would say closer to AI than Gordon as far as a ceiling goes

but who knows if he'll ever get there. i do like his scoring tenacity, the Bobcats desperately need that attitude.

More of a Tim Hardaway/Bobby Jackson type than a pure scorer like those guys

With Jordan's track record in the draft, he could have 5 lottery picks & still fuck it up

Maggette will be in heaven being the #1 option on a bad team. He'll put up 20ppg, with half of it coming on free throws.

And he'll average 0.1 assists.

I really hope we dont take Tristan.

Kahwi looks like a future star, Faried looks really solid, and Biyombo is a total hit/miss pick but he looks worth the risk.

We could use a backup PG so Kemba Walker makes some sense but it's pretty stupid to waste a lottery pick on a backup PG when there's so much frontcourt talent available and we have glaring holes there.

My totally uneducated list of guys i like in this draft: Kanter, K Thompson, Valanciunas, Motiejunas, Leonard, Butler, J Johnson, Cole, Mack, Selby

Selby and Klay are guaranteed busts according to all the numbers.

Selby's numbers might not do him justice since he had an odd season but Klay is a near lock to suck.

Kemba isn't anything special and even if he could supplant DJ (doubt it) that isn't an upgrade. What's the point of taking a guy who you think might be slightly better than the average PG you already have. We need a big man terribly. Diaw is an awful starting center and diop is an even worse backup center.

Trade #7 and #9 for the #2. Draft Derrick Williams and finally get a potential superstar on this team.

They are listed basically the same, but the in the group stage shot, Irving looked about 3 inches taller. Maybe it was his shoes or something, or maybe Kemba is only about 5'11-6-0.
