I enjoyed this episode. The only thing you missed was Claire witnessing Hiro's dad give baby Claire to Bennet and telling him that it was his assignment for the Company.

Heroes was always good bad tv show. The acting and the dialogue was always horrible, but the plot had novelty and the show had some jailbait. Now that the shine is off the plot, the bad parts are overwhelming the good parts.
12/2/2008 12:25:27 AM
didn't claire know that she was bennett's assignment already? or was she just exclaiming at being in the past in general?
12/2/2008 6:47:24 AM
"These crops are my fathers livelihood. Then they crows came and feasted on the corn." Good gawd Daphne. You couldn't act your way out of a paper bag.
12/2/2008 8:05:42 AM
I like how a farmer couldn't figure out to put up a scarecrow to get rid of crowsand hiro saying, "bad man!" was the first time i've laughed at this show in at least 4 weeks
12/2/2008 8:23:46 AM
i really wish they'd drop daphne. that whole story line, except for the parts w/ hiro & ando, suck really bad.andi had no idea there were mountains in kansas
12/2/2008 8:53:41 AM
sylar is starting to really annoy me. i like the character but come on decide if he is a villian or not. they started him out as pure evil and some where along the line they attempted to make him a sympathic character which was horrible. then they try to make him a good guy. seriously pick one side for him and leave him there.
12/2/2008 9:27:12 AM
^ they have to do this because of his future self...you have to find out why he doesn't want to use powers anymorei agree though, he needs to pick a side.^^ really? you like this whole 10 yr old hiro? I can't stand it, I think it's yet another season where he's not himself, and wouldn't be surprised if he's written out of the show shortlyhe potentially has infinite power, and all he's doing is just running around doing stupid shit
12/2/2008 10:58:16 AM
no, that's not what i meant, i don't like the current story line of hiro, but i like him as a character. i do not like daphne's story line nor do i like her as a character.[Edited on December 2, 2008 at 11:35 AM. Reason : ]

The acting and dialogue in this episode was particularly terrible. Daphne and Peter especially can't act for shit. And I'm glad Elle is dead b/c I was tired of watching her and Sylar suck face. IMO, this whole second eclipse thing was fucking pointless. It accomplished nothing except to send the storyline in a big loop back to where it was. Great, we found out they are whiny bitches without their powers just as much as they are with them. Also Nathan's little 'turn for the worse' towards his father's side was the worst piece of writing/acting I've seen in this show yet. With that said, I'm looking forward to next weeks episode now that this eclipse thing is done and it looks like shit is bout to go down.
12/2/2008 12:52:34 PM
"Hey Peter! wow look what we did! we saved a village because we have powers! hooray! Lets give everyone powers so they can save the world!"WTF is this shit. Really? I mean REALLY? This is the weakest writing I've ever seen in a show. They write as though these characters have 1/2 a brain. The whole reason you had to save the village is because some douchebag HAD powers to begin with.
12/2/2008 1:05:00 PM
i'm wondering if peter's powers got rebooted by the eclipse
12/2/2008 1:30:48 PM
i doubt it because they were taken away by arthur before the eclipse.and agreed on the nathan speech. yeah what does he think, if everyone has powers they arent gonna start using them for personal greed & commit crimes?
12/2/2008 1:53:21 PM
12/2/2008 2:00:26 PM
I'm sad they killed elle. They could have just separated her from sylar and put her in a bikini again, then have mudwrestling with the cheerleader
12/2/2008 7:55:02 PM
^ooooh please please

she much better as veronica Mars

12/3/2008 3:13:39 PM
yeah i noticed that ando's accent was missing. that was odd. i don't really know what to think about it...is it supposed to be part of the story or did he (the actor, not the character) just forget?
12/3/2008 3:42:16 PM
still no explanation of WHY the eclipse has anything to do with people's powers. ridiculous.and the eclipses don't make sense based on what's gone on in the past. in the first eclipse, it "activated" many people's powers for the first time. then they had their powers continuously afterward. so if the next eclipse deactivates everyone's powers, i would expect them to still be powerless until a third eclipse, not just until the second eclipse ends. and what about all the people whose powers never had shit to do with the first eclipse, why were theirs affected by the second one?
12/3/2008 3:51:33 PM
its all because of elves
12/3/2008 3:56:07 PM
i'm convinced the writers of season 3 did not watch either seasons 1 or 2
12/3/2008 3:58:25 PM
^^^ pretty much an epic fail on their part.
12/3/2008 4:27:24 PM
yeah, and it's just this season that they're really hammering home that the eclipse "switched on" all their powers. It doesn't jive, because for starters:1. What about Linderman, Arthur and Angela Petrelli, Elle's dad, etc. having powers for years prior.2. Everyone in the photo of "The Company" for that matter3. The Company has been operating for years and enforces a "one of us, one of them" policy.4. The backstory that some people (nathan and ali larter's characters) were given powers at birth, but it took 30+ years and an eclipse to activate?5. Adam had powers hundreds of years ago.6. Arthur and Linderman, for example, had powers for years prior to the eclipse and they were unaffected by the first eclipse, however the second eclipse affected them the same way all the "switched on" characters did.I don't mind plot holes, unanswered questions, and time travel confusion/nonsense, but this is getting out of hand.Oh and btw, wtf is mohinder supposed to be turning into, a snake, a spider, an armadillo? And can we do away with the maraca shake everytime he looks at his hands or into a mirror. [/rant]
12/3/2008 6:03:03 PM
Yeah I would guess that's him turning into a rattlesnake...which seems like a shitty power
12/3/2008 6:12:56 PM
1. you have natural mutants and artificial ones like nathan petrelli.4. they weren't given power, they were given the chemical that caused mutation, which if you watched the show at all, you needed a catalyst to activate said mutations.5. that's cause adam is a natural mutant.6. everyone in the current group, hero or villan, has the catalyst that is affected by solar eclipses. just that some are born with it and some aren't.
12/3/2008 6:37:27 PM
i think it's naive to assume things won't be explained.
12/3/2008 6:46:29 PM
i personally think with the way show is meandering, that it would naive to assume they're going to explain things. there are plenty of unanswered questions from the first 2 seasonsand about ando losing his accent, it reminds me of halle berry deciding she wasn't african anymore in X2 and X3
12/3/2008 8:12:23 PM
can i also just say that i twitch every time i see "villians" in the thread title?
12/3/2008 8:18:40 PM
pretty sure Adam's power started during the eclipse back in 1687 when Hiro was there
12/3/2008 8:49:17 PM
so theoretically, even if dad petrelli hadn't stolen adam's power, would he have disintegrated anyway once the eclipse came? and speaking of, surely there were other eclipses during his life
12/3/2008 10:52:22 PM
This show has MANY problems, but the eclipse as a catalyst is not one of them IMO. I think of the eclipse as an activator. It is a stimulus that triggers the abilities within the "heroes". However, while the eclipse is present, all powers are blocked / suspended. I don't think that this is too hard to believe. What is difficult to believe is that an eclipse could take so long that a person can get shot, driven to her home, had first aid applied, be stable for a while (we can assume this is for 10+ minutes, right?), take a turn for the worse, get driven to the nearest hospital, get stabilized again, take a turn for the worse, have surgery, get stabilized again, take a turn for the worse, attempt to get resuscitated, and die before the next eclipse happened. Those things only last for a few seconds (or minutes maybe?) so that is why the "heroes" did not notice the effect on themselves previously. It *should* have only been a brief hiatus that could have been attributed to random failure. So the theory is fine. The implementation in the episode was epic failure.EDIT: ^Lawl, another loop hole they didn't think of. More failure on their part.[Edited on December 4, 2008 at 12:07 AM. Reason : .]
12/4/2008 12:06:53 AM
he might have disintegrated, but would have (theoretically) reformed afterwards. afterall, claire got her power back, whereas adam is still left without his (we assume it was stolen by papa petrelli)just thinking outside the box
12/4/2008 1:56:15 AM
Also do they need to be in the actual shadow of the moon for it to work? A total solar eclipse over North America wouldn't be the same for other parts of the world. Although I guess they didn't bother thinking about that when Nathan and Peter went to see the Haitian in South America.
12/4/2008 9:08:09 AM
Guys, it's a show where people can fly, shoot electricity from their hands, and travel through time and space by blinking. It's pretty assinine to be like "BUT ECLIPSES DON'T WORK THAT WAY!!!!"
12/4/2008 9:30:41 AM
^^ very true. didn't even think about that till you brought it up. i usually see a few factual errors like this in movies and stuff lately.[Edited on December 4, 2008 at 9:37 AM. Reason : .]

This season would be over if Peter still couldnt control other peoples powers. Would've been funny if his dad went to take his powers and he took all his dads. Game ova!

no i know, and usually i dont complain too much about that stuff, i actually still enjoy watching heroes every week still. i was just sayin that its usually a common thing to see in entertainment

Why wouldn't he want the ability to stop time and time travel? I thought he had every intention of stealing Hiro's power, but he was interrupted by Ando's power ranger style leaping punch.
12/4/2008 3:31:05 PM
well for one thing he already has hiro's power (from peter).
