Need some tech job advice - i'll try to keep this vague as nothing is in the bag.I currently work for a consulting firm and 100% of my duties involve myself as a contractor for a top fortune 100 client. For this job i had to sign a non-compete - pretty saying i wouldn't give away secrets and work for a competitor of my clients.I have put in for job at a tech company. this tech company has their technology everywhere in the enterprises worth a shit these days. The client has this tech within their enterprise.Should i be forthcoming about my non-compete to my new employer? when i should bring up non-compete and should I ask for their legal team to double check? Or this something i shouldn't even worry about?I would in no way shape or form be on the client contract that i currently work for at my new job. They also do not directly support my client but im positive they support another vendor who supports my client.[Edited on August 21, 2013 at 6:42 PM. Reason : ss]
8/21/2013 6:35:16 PM
^^ I hear that cisco is going downside.
8/21/2013 7:00:19 PM
^^ are you in a right to work state? if so, fuck a non-compete, won't hold up in court. NDA is the only thing with weight.
8/21/2013 7:27:54 PM
^ i should specify i signed a NDA as well, but the verbiage seems more geared towards not disclosing secrets. I live in NC.[Edited on August 21, 2013 at 7:48 PM. Reason : s]

I'm looking for someone who has SEO experience and is looking for contract work.I'd prefer the candidate be located in the Charlotte area (if you're a great fit, but located somewhere else like GSO or RDU, I'll consider it). This would be contract work- but could lead to a full time position.I need someone who has their head on straight and wants to learn and become a local SEO expert. I'll invest in your training- by me and other people who I've built relationships with.Requirements- Must have some SEO knowledge/experience- Must have some WordPress experience- Be able to work unsupervised from home. I don't have an office- I work from home, so you need to work from your home.- Willing to learn and be a sponge. - Need to work between 8am - 5pm.
