yup you got it.i mean laffey had 1 game of no k's. he had 6 ks in 7 innings in his previous 3 starts though. The guy's ERA is like 1.50i have so much pitching i can trade people like this for a middle reliever like bucholtz. Navarro has been sick for me as a Cbtw i have a trade in the works to try to get ichiro, but im giving up a lot, so im kind of hesitant. esp in HRs just for a BA upgrade for bourn.id be giving up laffey, wilson, bourn and jacobs(who per avg stats is in the top 60 players along with laffey) for basically ichiro and one of his closers[Edited on May 28, 2008 at 6:32 PM. Not as much pitching as you'd like thoseeing as how you already said "Fuck it" with Brett MyersCorey Hart's working out just fine, btw[Edited on May 28, 2008 at 6:35 PM. Reason : but in h2h all that matters is making the playoffs...anything can happen in september]
5/28/2008 6:33:46 PM
i was going to drop him otherwise, i mean he wouldnt start in front of any of my current OFsthink id be giving up too many categories for ichiro?[Edited on May 28, 2008 at 6:37 PM. Reason : .]
5/28/2008 6:35:43 PM
Is the guy with Ichiro even active?he has zero transactionsmaybe you guys worked it out thru another channel like I did with the guy in the failed Ortiz/Reyes dealBut if you can make that work, I'd take itI would always take the guaranteed stud over a bunch of spare parts
5/28/2008 6:47:02 PM
who would you drop, with soriano coming back from the DL, my RPs are Kerry Wood, Huston Street, Brad Lidge, and BJ Ryan, and now Soriano. I like having closers because you can't have more than about 30 closers, but theres 150 SPs to get wins so that's why I have so many. So pick one to drop:SorianoStreetWoodDaniel CabreraDustin McGowanFelix HernandezErik BedardObviously those last two were pretty high picks for me, so I really don't want to drop them because they'll probably have better days. My other SPs are Halladay and Hudson, but they're doing well. And my offense has the bare minimum starters so I can't drop a bench player there.
5/28/2008 8:12:19 PM
I'd drop Sorianoyou said you like closersand come next week, Smoltz is probably closing for AtlantaOf the starters, I'd drop Cabrera...you can't either of the Seattle guys, and McGowan is more consistent
5/28/2008 8:17:05 PM
Bruce is an OBP machine.
5/28/2008 9:06:57 PM
yeah I definitely have a man crushfunny thing is, he hardly ever walked in the minors
5/28/2008 9:11:04 PM
i'm almost 10 games up in my league now, but tonight is AWFUL.2/30 with chase utley as the only bright spot of the night.
5/28/2008 11:31:10 PM
5/29/2008 12:05:39 AM
Bourn is starting to hit better too. Make sure you factor that in before you deal him, just because he's hitting .217 or whatever, he'll end up much higher than that. although ichiro will get like 2/3 of his steals, and hit like 50 points higher.
5/29/2008 4:32:35 AM
in one of my roto leagues, i am in 3rd overall, and doing fairly well in all categories (upper half of the league), with the exception of R, BA and HR. i do have some pitching depth - burnett, floyd, harang, kazmir, e.santana, j.santana, garland, maine - and i'm offering to 2 other teams that have shitty pitching.in one scenario, i'm targeting kinsler. he shot down maine+derosa for kinsler, and then i offered again with harang for kinsler straight up.with another team, i'm targeting ellsbury. i've offered 2 different deals, garland+taveras for ellsbury and floyd+taveras for ellsbury. we'll see what he says, but i can probably add a different pitcher if he doesn't like either.it'd be great if i could get both kinsler and ellsbury, i should be able to catch up pretty quickly with them in R and BA. they will add some HR, but won't make much impact, but going after a player that will give me R, BA, and HR will be a 4 or 5 tool guy that will cost me alot.
5/29/2008 7:00:05 AM
percival hurt his hammy laast night, so wheeler looks like a good add right now after coming in to pick up the save last night
5/29/2008 2:08:57 PM
Anddd bruce starts the night getting on base again. This time it wasnt his doing at least haha. And I just realized I have the exact same record in both my leagues. 50-24-6 [Edited on May 29, 2008 at 7:30 PM. Reason : aa]

drod, weeks for kerry wood isnt going to cut it
5/29/2008 9:55:23 PM
My h2h leagues are getting to be with only one or two people even trying any more. I took over some random league I found on a forum, its a 3 year keeper league and hopefully it will be a little more competitive. For a 16 team league my team doesnt seem tooo bad. Any advice on moves I should make?C Varitek1b Carlos Pena2b Empty3b KouzmanoffSS JeterOF Carlos Lee, Jermaine Dye, SorianoUtil GiambiBench Damon, Towles, CrispSP Harang, D-train, Haren, Francis, Chuck James, Brandon Webb, HudsonRP Valverde, Betancourt, GagneI already got a trade offer of Ramon Vasquez, Loney, Dewitt for Jeter, Betancourt, Chuck James. I personally like Dewitt as a strong candidate for RoY and I hate Jeter... so I'm thinking about accepting it. Plus Vasquez is a decent fill in at 2b. Other then that I want to try and trade Kouz for a reliever, and hope someone good comes up on the waiver as I have the #1 pick. I've never played in a league this big, it should be interesting. Any advice?
5/30/2008 7:00:39 AM
yeah, if I dont get a closer soon, I'm just gonna set my lineup and forget about this leagueI've offered 13542354 trades so far, most of which I am obviously losing out on, and still cant get a biteI think there have been a total of 2 or 3 trades in our league this year, fuuuuuuuuuuuuun
5/30/2008 8:23:34 AM
dude weeks for wood is by no means fair for me. i can get a better 2B off of waivers.not to mention my roommate was showing me some of the trades you were offering him and they were just as bad. If you want to quit just because no one is a sucker, then go aheadcome on dude thats lameyou offered me a decent trade, with beltran and e. santana for Krod and bourn. but i couldnt accept as id be losing a ton of 2 categories (SV and SB) and not getting categories i need in return[Edited on May 30, 2008 at 8:46 AM. anyone know of a way i can mail price feilder a bunch of cheeseburgers
5/30/2008 9:11:07 AM
5/30/2008 9:15:25 AM
^yeah, I think wheeler was taken off waivers within minutes of Percival going down. and torres has been off of waivers since gagne was removed.I've been working the waivers, but there really arent any saves being picked up by people on waivers.and I know that the Weeks trade was pretty lame, I'll admit that. And not all of my trade offers have been the best for both parties, but I'm trying to open up some lines of communication and trigger some counteroffers.
5/30/2008 9:42:26 AM
are you wahoos?
5/30/2008 9:48:24 AM
well i know for sure we have people willing to trade.especially when PRONK starts playing in 2 days. guaranteed he'll be wheeling and dealing
5/30/2008 10:09:30 AM
yeah, I'm chief wahoos
5/30/2008 10:34:00 AM
saw the offer come through on my phone, but fantasysports are blocked at worki'll look into a counter prollymy team also need to eat a hand gernade
5/30/2008 10:43:10 AM
which team are you? I could tell you what the trade isnevermind, I see who you are. Your team is loaded on pitching. I'm really just after a good RP and a decent SP if you are willing to give up one. I offered you Brian Roberts and Jacoby Ellsbury for Valverde and Beckett. Probably isnt the best trade in the world, but I saw that you might need a 2B and I need some saves[Edited on May 30, 2008 at 11:06 AM. Reason : asdf]
5/30/2008 11:02:18 AM
you could probably get my roommate to trade you a closer like bj ryan or lyon for roberts. he's a big O's fan
5/30/2008 11:45:39 AM
^^your getting fucked on that trade DRODwho's your backup 2B?
5/30/2008 1:22:09 PM
Ian Kinsler, Rickie Weeks, Yunel Escobarwho is your roommate?[Edited on May 30, 2008 at 1:28 PM. Reason : asdf]
5/30/2008 1:28:08 PM
Why are you not starting Kinsler???? He is a stud right now with a high average, decent pop, and SBs. Plus he is scoring runs hitting in front of Hamilton.
5/30/2008 1:35:53 PM
he is, which is why I am trying to trade away Roberts for a quality RPI was just listing the rest of my 2B so TheDude didnt think I was trading away my only option
5/30/2008 1:41:29 PM
my roommate is statisticular fortitude
5/30/2008 2:29:11 PM
^^that's why I asked who you have as a backup 2Byou seem to have a monopoly on 2B. That's not a bad trade then but i still think you could get a little more. Jacoby Ellsbury has some serious speed but is average has decreased over the last couple weeks. I still see him hitting around .300 at the end of the year.did you ask me who my roommate is?my roommate is my g/f btw
5/30/2008 2:49:48 PM
haha, no, I was asking who boobs' roommate was because I offered him a trade in our fantasy leaguethanks for the advice though.
5/30/2008 8:26:13 PM
WTF Milton Bradley felt "light-headed". I swear he is so injury prone and a headcase, but otherwise solid. And Orlando Hudson is available in my league, but I have Kinsler. Isn't Kinsler the better long-term solution? I may take Hudson and use him as trade bait for a reliever.
5/31/2008 2:56:11 AM
no one is going to trade for hudson. you're better off trying to pick up a reliever
5/31/2008 4:13:44 AM
another great night for bruce4 for 5...I'm still waiting for his first HR though
5/31/2008 7:57:18 AM
he just hit his 1st homer of his ML careera walk off bomb to beat the Braves
5/31/2008 7:42:03 PM
5/31/2008 7:45:05 PM
Who should I start this upcoming week:Kershaw vs Color Masterson (supposed to get brought up Tuesday and will get two starts against TB and Sea at home)I also have Smoltz on my bench who could be activated on Monday.
5/31/2008 11:47:34 PM
smoltz if you need savesi mean he could pitch like 3-4 times a week
5/31/2008 11:49:41 PM
It's a points league.....Wins are worth as much as Saves, but you earn points from IP and K's and deduct points for HA and BBI.
5/31/2008 11:57:53 PM
with wins beig as much as saves, id go with smoltz
6/1/2008 12:01:01 AM
Anyone else struggling with Jekyl/Hyde Erik Bedard like I am?He pitches great one game and then horrible the next. And Aaron Harang has been about the same.
6/1/2008 3:46:34 AM
they both will turn it around
6/1/2008 3:48:04 AM
Harang has been a tough luck loser, his ERA is probably pretty consistent with what he'll do, but if they could just score a couple runs he'll be fine. Bedard has been hurt, but still has shown that he's the ace they thought he will be, but I think he's still slightly rusty. Either way, you don't want to drop either of them because they're still quality pitchers with good numbers or that will end up putting up good numbers
6/1/2008 3:53:04 AM
I am starting Bedard, Harang, and Joba twice this week which is somewhat scary.....especially since Bedard is at Boston even though he just shut them out. Hell Harang is prolly better away from that HR crazy park in Cincy.
6/1/2008 3:53:14 AM
pick up jesse litsch quick...look at his game log.
6/1/2008 10:36:46 PM
he's been long gone for at least a month
6/1/2008 11:12:59 PM
danks is still available in my league too...i picked litsch over him though.
