nothing good can come of trying to explain where the abilities come from or how they might pass on from generation to generation.
11/8/2007 9:18:23 AM
well, let me clarifyif they would just drop the explanation every week by suresh that they don't know where they are coming from, then yeah, it would be okbut every single week it's "We don't know where you came from. We think it's genetic. I'm researching to find out."I dunno, either drop the reference to it (that symbol every 10 minutes on a binder, or a wall, or a sign, or...), or try and explain it. Just move on.

Best episode of the season so far. I hear people's gripes, but the show's universe isn't as bad as you guys are making it out to be. You're not going to have questions posed and then solved in the same hour. This is not Matlock. Nor however should this show be Lost and just not make any sense down the road. Out of Time looks like they can wrap this up effectively by the 3rd, with most likely huge cliffhangers. At first I was iffy about the whole Virus plot line myself. Now I think it works really well in that X-men kinda way.
11/8/2007 9:49:54 AM
^^ok, I agree 100% with that
11/8/2007 10:00:37 AM
I've kind of gotten the feeling that the powers are just a form of evolution, like in X-Men. Perhaps the eclipse somehow "triggered" the evolution (Kind of like the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey) since Kenzei developed (or at least became aware of) his powers shortly afterwards.
11/8/2007 11:11:21 AM
^i like that
11/8/2007 11:13:35 AM
I would like that toobut the fact they are splashing that "S" everywhere makes me think they are going an alien route
11/8/2007 11:16:19 AM
Isn't that symbol on Kensei's sword? Is it possible that he just started using it as his own personal call sign over the years after he went crazy. Dude is immortal, and he could have just started throwing it around everywhere he went, and especially once he got involved "The Company". That could easily explain it's prominence throughout the series.
11/8/2007 11:23:46 AM
that makes sense in the second season, but what about the first season when claire drew it on her binder?and nikki had it as a tattoo when she turned into jessica[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 11:27 AM. Reason : .]
11/8/2007 11:27:34 AM
^ not sure about claire, but Linderman kept close tabs on Nikki, so the symbol may have some bag&tag marking purpose. We've also seen the symbol on Peter.
11/8/2007 11:45:35 AM
From a narrative point of view, I think Kring is right about not giving the viewers a sense of purpose with the viral pandemic thing by waiting late in the season to introduce it, in contrast to the nuclear scenario of season one. But, I would like them to veer away from that much mimicry altogether. Not every season has to be an apocalyptic situation. Sufficiently dire does not have to equal end of the world. Not sure what to suggest, but Star Trek VI did a great job without the "fate of the world" being at stake. I remember Bennet had wireless chick doing some espionage work in the graphic novels, maybe we could take a political turn; have the heroes get involved with the rest of humankind rather than just making and cleaning up their own messes. I liked how the FBI and Parkman were involved in season 1; it gave a real feel that the ordinary world has a stake in things and was trying to make sense of events in the best way it could. Maybe have "The Company" clash/interact with the government. Have the heroes for a new coalition (matt, peter, hiro, etc.). I'm also a little bit dubious of the "oh, you didn't know it, but there was really an even bigger bad guy who was REALLY running the show" plot revelation device. Seems like Linderman was a pretty big dog; if he took marching orders/idealism from Munroe, why would Munroe be locked up? Why would we have not seen or heard of Munroe in season 1? With Sylar, Linderman, Parkman's dad, Munroe, it seems like there's too much of a narrative bait and switch approach to the bigger bad guy all the time.

Since Adam is immortal, I'm guessing he's kept track of people who could be of use to him. I would like to know if he has more abilities than just healing tho...As the name Adam suggests, maybe he even engendered the heroes? Maybe claire, peter, nikki...maybe even all of them are his decedents. When was he in japan again? 1200's? 1400's?

i'm still a pretty big fan of the show, even with the slower writing this season. but i swear to god if they involve aliens......i don't know what i'll do, but i won't be watching the show anymore cuz that's just lame.
11/8/2007 12:37:49 PM
and it bothers me that apparently sylar has been completely taken out of the picture as a bad guysure he claims he's going to steal the two mexican's abilities...but come on1st season, sylar was THE bad guy, and then all of a sudden, Linderman was THE bad guy.....now adam is THE bad guymaybe Satan will be in season 3
11/8/2007 1:43:34 PM
but see, sylar was the petty villian warm-up. he was basically a glorified serial killer. Adam is more of a master-mind who perhaps wants to destroy the world...[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 4:37 PM. Reason : sdf]
11/8/2007 4:36:56 PM
rightuntil they kill him, and there's a bigger bad guy that told adam what to dobut that's only after peter foresees the destruction of the universe by a mass race of aliens
11/8/2007 4:38:14 PM
lol, you are seriously pissed off aren't you
11/8/2007 6:19:44 PM
it's just unfortunatei really enjoyed the first season, and this second season constantly tests my will to keep watching

^^Actually, I'd say there haven't been any clues that implicate aliens. Because we don't know the answers to some questions, we can always just insert an alien explanation, but there's nothing that points to extraterrestrial manipulation.

Syler needs to hurry up and get some of Mohinder's blood so he can cure himself and start mixing things up again.

11/12/2007 3:51:42 PM
so is this probably the fall finale?
11/12/2007 4:44:44 PM
If the writer's strike doesn't end, the finale is on December 2nd, I think.
11/12/2007 5:12:53 PM
kristen bell as princess leia. Nothing can be hotter
11/12/2007 9:21:19 PM
wow, another nikki story line i really don't give a shit about
11/12/2007 10:09:39 PM
Hahahahaha did anyone else catch the NEDM music playing at the club?
11/12/2007 10:16:38 PM
yeah, jesus, nikki sucks. Jessica and Gina? yeah - pretty cool. Nikki? Veronica Mars in a low cut top?
11/12/2007 10:19:14 PM
^^ ahahahahaha yeah i was like, seriously?might be an inside joke there[Edited on November 12, 2007 at 11:00 PM. Reason : and after gettin shot]
11/12/2007 10:57:44 PM
that was a pretty fucked up way for DL to go. i mean i hate that storyline, but they worked so hard to make him heroic, only to have him get shot by a pissed off club hopperso i'm still on the fence about adam and the company. i really can't believe what anyone says right now, except hiro and peter
11/12/2007 11:01:58 PM
yeah, I was pretty upset the way DL died. I really liked him

It seemed liked a really really cheap way to go.
11/13/2007 1:10:02 AM
^ yeah it was, especially for someone who had just let the guys hand pass through his head but apparently didn't think to do it with the bullet
11/13/2007 1:12:52 AM
agreed it was kind of a cop out.
11/13/2007 1:17:33 AM
who cares? DL was an awful character, and we should just be thankful that they finally got rid of him.
11/13/2007 1:27:19 AM
yall are a bunch of haters, yes the jessica story is a bit tired but not everyone can be hirooh wait yall dont like that anymore either
11/13/2007 1:44:01 AM
^neither did the creator, moron
11/13/2007 1:48:01 AM
I thought DL's death was fucking awesome.Best episode of the season - I'm holding out hope.
11/13/2007 3:48:13 AM
i'm still a little confused about how the "most dangerous hero ever" only appears to have healing abilitiesi'm guessing he's wanting to take down the company, which is why they call him dangerous
11/13/2007 7:49:38 AM
Does Claire's blood have healing power for other people, like Adam's does? she just doesn't know it yet?
11/13/2007 8:04:18 AM
I would guess yes
11/13/2007 8:13:50 AM
so far i'm wishing that they hadn't even shown anything about maya and alejandro/sylar until after the first X episodes. maybe when they show up and have a quick flashback to sylar and candace and then maya and alejandro at the wedding.niki, micah and DL should have just been removed from the series. scratch all the storyline involving them.adam monroe is probably considered dangerous because he can release deadly viruses with no thought to his own well-being.so i imagine that he released the virus that killed everyone in the future.and dropping kaitlyn (or however you spell her name) off in the future was a shitty way of dropping her from the series (assumed that she is dropped)now with 3 episodes left they have to cram what they were probably going to try and fit into 6 episodes after already going over....wheeee
11/13/2007 8:16:36 AM
Kristen Bell is ridiculously hot. I love her character in this show too. Sadistic, smart, sequestered, sexy.
