Yea but I'm not talking about a direct launch, I'm talking about from a roll on the highway-"100mph +"Unless you want to brake boost on the highway and leave your transmission behind your car, you'll be walked.Off the line its no contest though. Not even remotely close.
2/12/2008 11:08:44 AM
those negro evo/sti can get walked by my civic on the highway.a real race isnt after 120. its the hole shot that counts.you gotta live your life one street light to the other.
2/12/2008 11:32:00 AM
Were you born stupid or did work hard at it later in life?
2/12/2008 2:22:54 PM
lets line 'em up b0'
2/12/2008 2:47:57 PM
2/12/2008 3:19:42 PM
just to clarify, he's talking about a suzuki tl... not an acura tl. i think you all might be confused. also, brake boosting isn't going to leave any transmission behind, it doesn't create much if any more stress than a hard pull from a roll. hard launching from a dig will though...
2/12/2008 3:24:35 PM
haha i was thinking an acura TL
2/12/2008 3:28:05 PM
haha. acura TL will probably walk my dog.but thats about it

2/12/2008 4:14:29 PM
haha, suzuki TL...that makes a lot more sense.
2/12/2008 4:43:43 PM
wow I feel dumb... yeah I thought you meant acura tl... I was definitely confused... I was thinking, "um, I definitely don't remember it being that fast... but then, I guess the evo must REALLY runs out of gear higher up...."lmfao
2/12/2008 5:03:21 PM
this one was fast up top. specially when that big as turbo spooled and he was sprayin the shit outta his aquamist shit.
2/12/2008 5:08:38 PM
^I believe it... I was flipping through a sport compact car a while back that featured some seriously high-hp evos (800-1000) and while the on-turbo power was crazy, below the boost, a stock evo would just romp 'em.... hilarious lag.... seriously... what's the point there? to so injure drivability in around town and in 20-45 mph tight turns (where an evo monsters a lot of faster cars) only to be able to win at some stupid high-mph race that isn't the foray of evos anyway? just silly.
2/12/2008 5:28:35 PM
just because some people choose to live with lag or are too dumb to know otherwise doesn't mean you have to.
2/12/2008 6:12:43 PM
Or they are drag cars where that doesn't really matter.

You have to understand, Glove Co. is like a leaf. Whichever way the wind blows.
2/12/2008 9:45:58 PM
I doubt he'd consider any other Mitsubishi, or argue that there aren't many other manufacturers that offer better quality. Let's not kid ourselves here, people buy EVOs for very few reasons, namely performance and the fun drive, and not much else... Ahmet
2/12/2008 11:56:26 PM
i'd add the 4-doors, real backseat and trunk, and in some cases AWD to the listbut yeah, few people are buying for looks, and i can't imagine anyone buying for quality of either the car or the company...or really for any other reason besides wicked performance per dollar (and for some people, the most badass driving experience money can buy that also brings every day family sedan practicality to the table).

Golovko, SandSanta, and God so they can again become friends.
2/13/2008 9:43:20 AM

2/13/2008 9:49:37 AM
Hey nowAside from God being the definition of failure, I like both those kids.Except Type R powr. He's a dumb nig that blows up integra motors and has his friends run over their axles while driving.

2/13/2008 10:21:55 AM
you dont need to do anything really. just go out and drive. then once you know what you are doing. then you can start doing stuff to it.unless you are already a world class driver.

where has that fag scrumples been hiding?I'm sure if you search through all 12 pages of this thread you will see me say Mitsubishi's suck several times. Why? Because Mitsubishi's do suck big time. Unless you're buying an Evo why in God's name would you buy a Mitsubishi? But thanks for post stalking me crumps
2/13/2008 3:37:57 PM
I'll fucking own your ass on the track with a saab.

2/13/2008 6:50:05 PM
whats this this talk about evo quality? mitus in general maybe, but specific to this model whats the problem??? my understanding is that 4g63 is a very reliable engine. anything that could possibly go wrong on that engine has already been addressed. damn thing has been in production for over 10 years.
2/13/2008 7:05:39 PM
well, in 22k miles, mine has:1. long since been rattling HORRIBLY in the interior2. shit a clutch3. CEL on4. front-end shakethe dealer has:1. been unable to fix (or maybe they didn't really try)2. unwilling to fix under warranty, though offered to do it for $23003. claimed Mitsu is "working on" a software patch for the ECU, but for the time being, just reset it and keep driving4. unable to fix
2/13/2008 7:12:47 PM
anecdotal...you might have a lemon...doesn't mean all cars are that problematic
2/13/2008 7:27:03 PM
1. Don't know, but the interior is very crappy and cheap (save the seats). 2. Very, very, very common problem--to the point of being par for the course--according to the internet, the dealer, and the independant shop that fixed mine. When I called the dealer, they'd just done an Evo clutch at 5k miles the day before. I talked to the independant shop twice before taking my car in--in each case, they'd either done an Evo clutch the day before or had one in the shop at the moment. 3. Common problem, according to the dealer. Said he's seen 3 other cars come in with same problem (and this is in Burlington, WA...not a big city or big dealership. In fact, it's not even strictly a Mitsu dealership).4. Very common problem, according to internet.http://mitsubishisucks.com/cars/models/lancer/http://www.evolutionm.netread up a little.also, I was told by the dealer's service manager that they would void the ENTIRE warranty if they found any modification (i.e., they'd void engine warranty for suspension mods, or even something like a cat-back, which is generally accepted as "ok"). I informed him that they couldn't legally do that, and even if they wanted to disregard the law and get away with it like most dealerships do, precedent still wasn't on their side. Then I finally said "Besides all that, why would I give a fuck if you void my warranty? It's not like you're going to honor it even if it's not voided."[Edited on February 13, 2008 at 7:38 PM. Reason : asfd][Edited on February 13, 2008 at 7:44 PM. Reason : and it's not like Mitsu really deserves the benefit of the doubt.][Edited on February 13, 2008 at 7:45 PM. Reason : also said they'd void my warranty if I had an OEM clutch installed by an independant shop.]
2/13/2008 7:38:06 PM
No problems whatsoever with mine though. Of course i drive like an old man and have only had the car a bit over a year.
